MSM's Iraq Concern: Not What's Right But 'Will Bush Listen?' [Video]

The Iraq Study Group's recommendations are about to be released. Think about it: what should be the media's focus? I'd say attention should center on what those recommendations are, and whether if implemented they would advance - or impair - US interests in Iraq.

But that's not the MSM's focus at all. From the cover of Newsweek to the Today show, the concern is not whether the recommendations are good, but only whether President Bush will accept them.

In the course of Matt Lauer's interview of former Bush chief-of-staff Andy Card, 'Today' flashed the Newsweek cover shown here. When Card began describing the president's goals in Iraq and his decision-making progress, Lauer impatiently cut him short:

"But it's clear that there's got to be a change of course and there are a lot of people weighing in with advice on how that course should be changed. Does he listen?"

Change for change's sake? Is that any way to run a war?

Lauer

Lauer--typical MSM--rich, spoiled, ignorant liberal. Newsweek-a misnomer; it should be named Pravda.

NEVER,NEVER trust a liberal

Matt Wower At It Again

Matt's question can be viewed two ways. The first can be put this way: "Does the President confer with his advisers, hear and understand their advice, question their advice and the foundations its based upon, give their advice due consideration, and then act?" The second can be put this way; "Since the President's policies have proven to be wrong and a failure, will this mindless sock puppet follow the directions (meaning advice that I and the rest of the liberals agree with) given him by people who are really much smarter than he is?"

I think we understand the point to Matt's question. It's too bad for him that this President isn't a mindless sock puppet intent on what the polls have to say.

President Bush has a quality

President Bush has a quality that MSM completely lacks...

Integrity.

Plausible Deniability

Since the big opponents of the Iraq war have changed their basic tune from "Its Bush's fault, pull out now" to "Chaos if we pull out now, its Bush's fault" I see the ISG as another set up for the "Bush Hater" crowd.  If he implements the recommendations and they don't work the "Bush Haters" can criticize him for not implementing his own plan and failure is Bush's fault.  If he does not implement them and there is little change they can say he is stupid for not listening to the ISG and its Bush's fault.  If a he does implement some sort of new strategy, whether it be from the ISG or something the administration devises itself, and this new strategy produces some positive affect the "Bush haters" have positioned themselves to take credit for it.

Just heard a Colonel on Laura

Just heard a Colonel on Laura Ingraham: "If you want to suppoert the troops, let us win."

I am all for letting the dogs

I am all for letting the dogs loose, and not worrying about the political implications.  We need a General Patton.

Something I have been sayin

Something I have been saying since day one. We need to let our boys fight the real war without having to fight the PR war at the same time.

More proof that the MSM think

More proof that the MSM thinks they should run America.

It's obvious those at NBC and

It's obvious those at NBC and the TODAY SHOW do not LISTEN to the majority of Americans and how they are unable anymore to stomach their anti-BUSH tirades day after day.

Does Matt listen when a large number of people complain about his radical liberal bias.  Does NBC listen when Brokaw, Matthews and others are so liberal you can smell it.

No they don't and President Bush is the Commander in Chief and he was elected not Baker, Gates or Hamilton or anyone else!

MSM

The MSM have a nerve in suggesting that President Bush listen to suggestions about Iraq, when these damn fools can't even keep their own houses in order.
