Last Thursday I noted an I Want Media vote about who should be the 2006 Media Person of the Year. I asked for nominations for our own tally, and now that the choices are in, you can vote for who you think most impacted the media/country in the last year.
The choices: Al Franken, Katie Couric, Ann Coulter, Keith Olbermann, George Allen and Mark Foley, Tony Snow, Chris Wallace, Washington Post, Green Helmet Guy, and the Media.
If you have a "write in" candidate, include it in the comments section. Sorry, you can only vote once, this not being a Democratic primary.

I thought this was a fun poll
November 21, 2006 - 19:48 ET by whitetopI thought this was a fun poll and was going to vote for Kutie Curic because she is such a loser. I mean after all the $s See BS has spent on this bitch only to fall to the depths of dispair in the ratings. Seems like they are committed to mediocrity because they were consistently 3rd with Dan (I only report on material I generate) Blather, even though he was the highest paid of the alphabet anchors. SeeBS obviously enjoys the cellar when it comes to ratings because it gives them something to shoot for.
I voted for Tony when I saw this was a serious poll.

I thought I made up my mind, and I used the chad stylus to dot out the little punch hole, but then I decided "Macaca" and IM's weren't as important as Tony Snow, who should be on the Cover of Time.
But they won't let me change my answer or get a do-over ballot here, claiming I already dropped it in the ballot box. Like that matters if I've changed my mind ?!
They don't want a true answer and suppression of voters is the way they're gonna win. The fix is in. This is 2000 and 2004 all over again.
I chose Green Helmet Guy main
November 21, 2006 - 16:13 ET by Dave RI chose Green Helmet Guy mainly because he, although unwittingly, did more than anyone on the list to promote blogs. It was solely due to some sharp eyes out there that certain elements of the MSM were caught red-handed faking "news" photos, some doing it repeatedly. In my mind, that was probably the most significant development over the last year MSM wise, and does not bode well for the future, as I am sure the fakers will now be striving to perfect their craft. The obvious affect of media bias on the election runs a close second to that, but I blame a large part of that on the voters, who didn't bother to avail themselves of the wealth of information available to them.

November 21, 2006 - 16:00 ET by JohnboHey, why screw up a successful act as America's media slut? It sells books! Isn't being a smashing finacial success - no matter what it takes - what America is all about?
Oh, wait. That's the credo of the conservatives.

November 21, 2006 - 15:37 ET by sarcasmoHey, why vote twice? Libertarians have technologically-surpassed that, and I'm proof! If you vote for Radley Balko, your vote can be fully cloaked, too! Who cares if a blogger's journalism may have saved an innocent man's life?!?!? We've got Katie Couric's People-Magazine-style "journalism" to think-about instead!!

November 21, 2006 - 16:03 ET by JohnboIt's got to be Rush Limpbaugh and the Michael J. Fox imitation. The Limp One is single-handedly responsible for delivering a key state to the Democrats that resulted in control of the Senate.

If that logic holds, Dem candidates should have won EVERY presidential election since 1988 with 500+ electoral votes.

November 21, 2006 - 16:19 ET by rimskyAll due respect to Tony Snow, Ann Coulter and all, but come on.. the Media's strategy of spewing trash about Republicans and Conservatives was so ramped up in the months preceding the mid-term elections, its hard to see any of the other choices as being relevant.
dimpled chads and broken Deibolds
November 21, 2006 - 16:22 ET by acumenBefore I vote, I first need to review the issues.
Lets see, can't vote for Franken, Couric, Olberman, WaPo, Green Helmet Guy or Media. Although I know their goal (more liberalism/government), until they cut and run I don't see where they have offered any other realistic "plan" to fix the disaster they have created right here at home called America's war on terror.
I can't vote for any of the others on the list because as I have been repeatedly told by the ones I have already eliminated, their opinions don't matter anyway.
So I am left with no alternative than to offer a write-in vote - My vote for media person of the year for 2006 goes to that one man who had the capacity to not only dupe most of the developed world media but our country's media as well into believing that HE is the actual victim - (awkward moment - fumbling with butterfly ballot) ------- the Islamic terrorist.
Come on what about Chris Wallace?
