...everyone knows that in this racist, white-power america, any non-caucasians cannot possibly have a "good" morning as whites are keeping them down!

Well, of course, Ripa's comment was not homophobic.  I sure wouldn't want some relative stranger shoving his hand in my face either.  But I'm more than a little confused about something:  Doesn't Kelly Ripa have the right to be "homophobic" if she wants?  She did not deny this person access to a job or a promotion; she did not use hate language or make some kind of threat.  She, in a relatively polite manner, made it clear she did not want the dude's hand in her face.  What exactly is the problem with this, even if her reason is because the guy is gay?  It's her body and she should have the right to decide who's hands touch it.

I hate Rosie and not because of her sexual orientation. I have posted many times how much I dislike her. I see and have always seen a very nasty personality behind what has been alleged to be a comedic front. I disagree with almost anything she has said. I usually have read about what she said because I would never watch a show or a movie that she was in. My only exception was when I watched a youtube (?) excerpt of O'Reilly's appearance on the show.

How does this have anything to do with being gay?  When men take a whizz, they touch their genitals.  Kelly could simply be wondering if he properly washed his hands before coming out of the men's room.

It's clear that rosie has tool envy. If this guy (gay or not) put his hand on my face, just as a natural reaction, I'd shove his hand down his throat, and make him sing the Star Spangled  Banner backwards'.  But that's just me. I guess I'm homophobe. Who's clay aiken?

First off, if Aitken were straight he'd have be a Michael Richards-level pariah by now for touching a woman who didn't want to be touched! That's assault, friends!

Secondly, the keywords in Rosie's comment are "from where I sit". In other words, as an openly gay woman, she is the only person qualified to judge whether something is homophobic or not. (And, as on openly gay woman, she is automatically immune from criticism, correction or even comment. See: Coulter, Ann vs. The Jersey Girls.)

Well, I'll post this.

My question would simply be what kind of life is it to take offense at such things when obviously the act itself was rude and the comment was directed to end the behavior.  What type of 'trigger' does a brain have to carry around on a constant basis to even make such a comment as whether this was 'homophobic'?

Man, I sure am glad I'm not a liberal.

FWIW, Clay Aiken is a pop singer, not a country singer (though his latest song, "A Thousand Days", has a country feel).

That said, as far as I know, Aiken is still in the closet (his official position when asked about his sexuality is that "no matter what I say, people are going to make their own assumptions, so I choose not to say anything"), and I'm getting a little tired of Rosie's compulsive need to "out" celebs who aren't wearing rainbow pins and marching in Gay Pride parades. Funny how when Clay was a guest on The View a few weeks back, there were no sexual orientation questions and the girls were constantly getting touchy-feely with him, but let Kelly Ripa make one (very old joke) comment about not knowing where Clay's hand has been and suddenly she's a raging homophobe? Sheesh.

So, I'm betting Barbara Walters dumps Rosie after the first of the year because of all the bad press she's brought to the show. Anyone care to take me up on the bet?

Bitching and complaining about this idiot in forums serves no purpose. Send your complaints to ABC and their sponsors. Hurt Hollywood where they will feel it most, their wallet. A nice little boycott of anything related to ABC and those that advertise with them will send a message that they will understand.

I can't believe my own eyes. Rosie O'donnel is completely out of line. For one thing, not everything is homophobic. Second, if ANYONE, gay OR straight, put there hand over my mouth I would fly into a RAGE!!

Far-Left liberals want a nation of CRYBABIES!!! They want everybody to feel sorry for themselves as well as EVERYONE ELSE! They also want to take away freedom of belief and thought. Television is such an embarrassment now. Every show has an agenda, whether it be anti-christian, pro-homosexuality, pro-illegal-immigration, etc etc.

I can't even watch a show with my father anymore without getting embarrassed (he is in his 70's). I tried to watch a CSI Miami the other night because he was in town staying with me and my wife, we turn on the tube to watch something and BAM! A girl performing an insinuated BJ on some guy. DISGUSTING!!! These are the PEOPLES airwaves.

I can totally relate to what Ripa said to Clay, I am a germaphobic too. Don't be touchin my face with your dirty hand! That saying ( I don't know where your hand as been) has been around for years. For Rosie to make that comment was indeed a reach. How juvenile of her.

To take another angle on this; I was really surprised Ripa felt a need to show Gay people: "Hey, I'm not a homophobe...I'm not homophobe!"

But I guess I can't be too surprised.  After all, Ripa does work in an industry that considers Gays an endangered species of sorts.

Why people fear what Gay people think I'll never understand?

The existence of O'D on The View is because of Barbara Walters. Remember, Walters comes out stunned about Mel Gibson and so offended that she says she will never watch another Mel Gibson program or movie again yet...she hires one of the most racist, bigotted, hatemongering personalities in Hollywood who lives to throw feces in the face of anyone who disagrees with her, The O'D herself. Does Walters says anything in disgust when she attacks the Christian Church, Catholic, Protestant and in between? When she attacks Jews? When she attacks America, when she attacks heterosexuals, when she defends murderous terrorist? No, Walters is the villan here and deliberately so. She knows what she was getting with O'D. But O'D won't last and eventually will, like all extremists and uncontrollable hedonists, not be able to regulate herself because boundaries are the enemy in life to O'D and authority is to be pi$$ed on so, in her lust for attention and fascist dominance of the world around her she will get more and more extreme until finally the network will tell almost 80 Barbara Walters she is going to have to get a new attack dog.

Shame on Walters for using her public acceptance to thrust such degeneration on viewers. Walters is just the degenerate O'D is but Walters hides behind her puppet. Barbara Walters you are disgusting.
