Folks also think President Bush will veto any tax hike legislation that
a new Democratic Congress might pass. Yes, yes, I believe Bush would
definitely veto a direct tax hike bill. But the political story will be
much more complicated than this...
This means that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel, John
Spratt and other Dems would be able to craft a so-called big bang
deficit reduction package that would (falsely) cobble together spending
cuts with tax revenue hikes.
President Bush might eventually be confronted with a Hobbesian
choice of vetoing a so-called $500 billion dollar deficit reduction
package that would overturn and rollback cap gains, dividends and the
top income tax rate...
Although this story describes the dems desire to elimite the deficit it explains the success of our economy.
...While the DNC doesn't have $10M to just toss around to another campaign
committee, the DNC apparently has decided to go into debt to come up
with the extra cash DSCC Chair Chuck Schumer has been pleading for from DNC Chair Howard Dean.
The actual amount of the loan the DNC is taking out is not known as the
committee holds out hope they can raise nearly everything they need
before the election. But a line of credit has been opened...
The dems have decided to borrow in order to fund campaigns. Who will ultimately be responsible for the debt created?
Realize this is a party which is running against the deficit.
