Reuters Again Claims Gorbachev 'Ended Cold War'

Contrary to what these so-called news reporters lead their readers to believe, ex-Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbechev did NOT help us "end the cold war" in any other way but to LOSE it! He was not on the same level with Ronald Reagan who is really the one responsible for ending the Cold War.

I have seen this many, many times, but it is always a good idea to continue pointing out this bias to keep people aware of just what Gorbachev's role was in the Cold War. "News" services like Reuters continue to uplift Gorby to the level of benevolent leader and kindly grandfather for helping us "end the cold war". But it just isn't true at all. Should Gorby have had his way, Russia would STILL be under the crushing thumb of the U.S.S.R. and its oppressive system.

Reagan BEAT Gorby and his Communist regime. Gorby did not have an epiphany and suddenly become a loving capitalist and benevolently dismantle Communism to end the Cold War.

It's just that simple.

But, here we have Reuters in their story, U.S. wasted chance to improve the world: Gorbachev, reporting Gorby's latest doggerel and, once again, giving Gorby credit for "ending the Cold War".

BERLIN (Reuters) - Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, who played a key role in ending the Cold War, said the United States had squandered an opportunity to improve global politics after the Cold War, a paper said on Friday.

Gorby has been quoted many times over the last 30 years telling all who will bother with the old loser that the USA is on the downward spiral. His talk is mindless blather that is backed up only by his own personal failure. It's amazing anyone pays any attention to the stained, old goat.

I won't bore you with his "analysis" of the day's events, but would like to wonder aloud about one more part of the Reuters story.

The piece quotes Gorby several times, but also has what seems like interpretations of what he said in unquoted segments. Here is one of those:

He said the United States and other Western countries had missed an opportunity to make the world a better place after the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 ushered in the end of communism.

Now, did Reuters not put quotes there because they are interpreting his words instead of quoting them? And could it mean that it is Reuters who imagines that it was the "end of communism" when the Berlin wall fell? Because, surely, Gorby isn't even stupid enough to imagine that communism is gone off the face of the earth since the Berlin wall fell?

After all, we still have China and Cuba at the very least. And, last time I checked, they are still commies!

Anyway, when do we get to see a Reuters story that credits Reagan with "ending the Cold War"?

Maybe when communism REALLY ends?

Probably not even then.
