USA Today, TMZ Speculate: Was Diane Sawyer Drunk On The Air Tuesday Night?

ABC World News host Diane Sawyer sure wasn't herself during Tuesday's election coverage.

In fact, her behavior has prompted speculation that she might have been drunk (video follows with commentary).

Gossip website Gawker published a piece with a video of its own entitled "Here’s Video Evidence of Why Everyone Thought Diane Sawyer Was S--tfaced On Air Last Night."

TMZ asked, "Diane Sawyer: Drunk, Tired or Flustered?"

USA Today reported moments ago:

Was she drunk? Tired? On Ambien? Chardonnay? That's what Twitter chatter was all about.

ABC veteran Diane Sawyer's election night coverage was the talk of Twitter Tuesday night, as she somewhat slurred words at times, seemed to ramble at times and wasn't the usual buttoned-up news anchor we've come to know. Her performance prompted many to wonder if she was overtired or had suffered a stroke, and it prompted others to crack jokes about what else might have caused the behavior.

Should be interesting to see how she and/or ABC News responds.
