The 'Humor' of Ultra-lefty Radio Host Mike Malloy: I Believe Bomber Is Glenn Beck Supporter

May 5th, 2010 10:27 AM

Hard-left radio host Mike Malloy on Monday spewed venom at Fox News' Glenn Beck, using the near-tragedy of the failed Times Square bombing to claim that the guilty party would be a "follower" of the radio host, "if not Beck himself." (Hours later, an American Muslim would be arrested for the plot.) [Audio available here.]

Malloy opened his program by mocking, "But, so far, no word as to whether or not it was Beck or one of his followers who set that bomb off; I'm assuming that it was one of his followers." Trying to come up with some sort of bizarre reasoning, the host slandered, "...Because this is what Glenn Beck and these other right-wing freaks are always trying to instill in his listeners; so much hatred and suspicion and fear about the federal government."

Malloy would probably defend his comments as some sort of twisted humor. But, he appeared to be taking the near-loss of life and using it as yet another attempt to trash conservatives.

Despite his radical comments, Malloy occasionally appears on MSNBC. On January 12, 2010, host Rachel Maddow turned up on his show. She gushed, "I love your dark thoughts. We all love your dark thoughts."

To read some of Malloy's more hateful comments, including suggesting that Dick Cheney has "feasted on a Jewish baby," see Tim Graham's January 18, 2010 blog on the subject.

A transcript of Malloy's May 3 comments can be found below:

MALLOY (05:02) Regarding the bombing in Times Square, I believe it's another Glenn Beck follower, um, if not Beck himself. You know, um, although that little video where the guy is taking off his shirt - it didn't look like Beck; but that could have been somebody he sent out as a decoy. But, so far, no word as to whether or not it was Beck or one of his followers who set that bomb off; I'm assuming that it was one of his followers, uh, because this is what Glenn Beck and these other right-wing freaks are always trying to instill in his listeners; so much hatred and suspicion and fear about the federal government. So much reference to Timothy McVeigh and bombing and militia types. This is what they push for; this is what they want. So, we'll - we'll see. I would suggest to the FBI as they're trying to find this guy; just go through Glenn Beck's e-mails! Maybe you'll find something, right guys?
