For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: a two month tax holiday!

[M]any Americans are asking, "Where's my bailout?" One Texas congressman has a proposal to give Americans one. "There's $350 billion that Paulson has not obligated. He hasn't dedicated," said U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert. "Let's cut that authority for him off and instead allow the tax payers for two months to keep all of their federal withholding; that includes the income tax withholding, the FICA withholding." In essence, Texas Congressman Gohmert wants a tax free holiday for every American for the first two months of 2009.

How do you like this idea? As bankers, brokers, and possibly carmakers have gotten their handouts, maybe we should give some money BACK to those it actually belongs to? Or, is this just another gimmick that will do nothing to help the economy?

P.S. Do you agree with Neal Boortz who thinks Democrats would NEVER allow this to happen because if people actually got paychecks worth their entire gross earnings for two months, there'd be a HUGE tax revolt in this nation?
