Is it Maroon 5, or 5 Morons?

Biodiesel?? That will divert food crops to energy use, put much more polluting particulates into the air, including carcinogens, and not reduce any C02 emmisions at all (biodiesel and regular diesel emit the same amount of C02). These guys are making alot of money (platinum album) why not dump some into an all-electric bus for their tour and show that they really care?

Where is all the electricity for their amps and lighting going to come from? I hope they do not use any pyrotechnics in their show...that puts out HUGE ammounts of C02.

I'm always curious about these so-called 'green' organizations that are going receive donations and do --- what?

So, I went to Global Cool's webpage, and found this self-description:

How much does a "Tonne of Cool" cost?  Better yet, what exactly is it and where do I get it to donate to Global Cool?  Do I save a ton of carbon, and send it to Global Cool?  Do I save it and get money from Global Cool?  Do I send it to Global Cool along with my $$$$?

6) For the next ten years, Global Cool is partnering with amazing people, events and companies to help save a planet. Attracted and inspired by entertainment, and by getting as many people as possible to do their bit, Global Cool will actually slow down global warming.

That's sounds like a great plan.

Ah-so.

So, now that Global Cool has described itself, what does my $1 donation actually buy beyond promotional material for rock concerts, which will earn more dollars to promote more concerts, to earn more donations to promote more concerts . . . .  (yadda-yadda-yadda)

Unfortunately, I don't think the carbon-offset dealers are anymore sophisticated or effective than Global Cool. 

Has anyone seen my Tonne of Cool?  I'd like to sell it, but I appear to have misplaced it.

I think I'll create a Global Warming task force for the ostensible purpose of saving the planet, but for the actual purpose of raising huge dollars for me.

Awh.. I really like Maroon 5, but now, because of my over the top, unreasonable hatred of Greens I can never see one of their live shows! Their music is really good inspite of the green factor though, great stuff to calm down after some Metal.
