First of all, the, everything we need to do, the science on global warming is settled, 2500 scientists and the IPPC report, the top meteorologists and climate scientists from around the world have announced the global consensus that global warming exists, that we are causing it, and that its impacts are going to be catastrophic.

KENNEDY: If you are lying to people about science, about the impact of things like global warming, it's something that you should be challenged on. And the advertisers, of course, should be questioned about that.

Hurray for John Stossel! It's about time someone told Robert Kennedy that some of this stuff is just plain silly.

These rich liberals are so full of ....hypocrisy. Back in the old days, the rich would pay some poor schlub to go into the army for them. Nowadays, because they can afford it, they salve their consciences by buying "carbon offsets" and use all the energy they want. The poor schlubs who can't afford to do that can go without A/C and ride their bikes or walk to work.

Why doesn't Kennedy use some of his own money to buy some "carbon offsets" for some of his poor constituents? It's more of the "Sacrifice for thee, but not for me" mentality.

I was taught in public schools that the original people that discovered Iceland and Greenland purposely switched the modifiers "Ice" and "Green" so as to trick folks to traveling to the wrong, or less-inhabitable, place.

I know that most people with more than three brain cells rubbing together inside that squash atop their necks already know and agree with the following, but I feel the need, actually, the COMPULSION, to say:

If you (Goracle, Kennedy [entire family], Madonna, DiCaprio, Crow, ect.) are going to preach about the dangers to the entire planet due to Global Warming, Climate Change, or whatever the daily catch-phrase might be, then the first step towards credibility is to walk the walk. I don't care if you're rich, that's not a primary issue. HOW you got rich may be (RFK???).

No, the issue is how you live your rich lives. Jet-setting, squandering energy (big cars, big houses, etc.), while preaching for others to sacrifice life's little conveniences like cars, lights, and air-conditioning just doesn't cut it. Ranting and name-calling doesn't hold people's attention. Suppressing contrary opinions pisses people off. Sensationalizing the danger further reduces your credibility. And worst of all, CASHING IN on your "initiatives" is, to use RFK's intellectual phrase, TRAITOROUS.

You yourselves will not make the slightest effort to curtail what you tell everyone else are the reasons for Global Warming, you demand everyone below your station in life sacrifice what little (comparatively) they do have, and you are blatantly planning on raping the world community to further enrich yourselves.

All of you need a quiet corner to go sit in and color (using recycled paper and bio-degradable crayons, of course). The rest of us are getting really, really, really, really, really tired of your ranting hypocrisy.

The Closed Mind Erects Strong Barriers

More chicken-little hysteria from the Democrat party. It is well-known that arctic glaciation goes through 40-year cycles of warming and cooling. This warming is similar to the one that occured between 1920 and 1950. These cycles have been known by scientists the world over for decades. The left understands this too but they're more interested in exploiting this natural, cyclical trend for their own political ends. There is much data on the warming/cooling cycles of the arctic region but the MSM who are zelously in the tank for AGW theories, would never allow such a fact --- or any theories to the contrary for that matter -- to become public knowledge - not if they can help it. You never hear the slightest mention of the "Medieval Warm Peroid", a vital piece of information which was simply deleted in the 2001 UN climate report. This is why Kennedy and others like him on the extreme left get so fanatically angry and make ludicrous accusations at anyone who dares to even question the validity of the AGW orthodoxy. There is so much contrarian data to be found just about everywhere (i.e. bookstores, libraries, newsletters, the internet, talk-radio, think-tanks) that have made very effective and persuasive arguments against the idea that were all doomed to catastrophic climactic chage.  The left hates this -- that the common citizen has access to materials that don't agree or comply with their political agenda -- and there's basically nothing they can do about it which is what drives them nuts. Alternative information exists just about everywhere and they are powerless to stop it. They prefer no public input -- something on the order of Hillary's Healthcare taskforce -- no public input, no reporting of what goes on on the inside, complete secrecy. Then go public with the "findings" and put the agenda on a fast-track  to legislation and forced public compliance. Freedom of Information is only good when the information agrees with your political agenda.

The fact that Robert Kennedy is publicly calling people liars about their AGW dissent speaks to the despiration of the AGW crowd.  They see the tide turning on their scam, I mean pet assertion, so this has become the imperitive, the final push to silence the critics or the whole thing goes belly up.  With each passing week of scientists are coming out to denounce AGW, so the whole consensus argument collapses thus bringing down the house of cards they so pain stakingly built.   They couldn't silence scientists by defunding them, they can't discredit them anymore using the canard of being funded by the oil industry, they are increasingly not being able to buy the scientist's consensus through funding either, so now they are making threats to frighten people into silence.

Here's where I'm getting confused.  If I understand Gore's theory, the glaciers are going to melt, the seas are going to rise, and Casa De Bruzilla and most of Florida will be under several feet of sea water.  Now I have Kennedy telling me that out of 127 glaciers at the start of the century only 17 are left.  That means 110, or just under 80% of the glaciers are gone... yet I still have to drive 20 miles to get to the same beach that has been around, largely unchanged, since the turn of the century.  How can this be?  One would think that if 80% of the glaciers are gone, I should be, at a minimum, needing to wade out to the mailbox each day.  If we've lost 80% of the glaciers, and the sea level hasn't changed, then how will the last 20% send me shopping for real estate in the mountains of North Carolina? 

Kennedy is right; the science is settled on this.  Snoop Dogg, Chris Rock and Madonna confirmed it at Live Earth on Saturday.  What further proof does one need?

I saw this exchange. Stossel very calmly turned up the heat on Kennedy and Kennedy was spitting and sputtering and talking in his best Elmer Fudd voice. The man was totally flustered and had no answers for Stossel. Kennedy kept trying to change the subject and Neal kept bringing him back.

If that young lady that does the body language segment on Bill OReilly was watching this, I'd bet she'd have a terrific analysis.

I think RFK jr. was really in the Arctic snooping around looking to get in on the ground floor of the vacation resort business that will surely break out if and whenever that AGW really kicks in up there.  And he might even have been looking for some of those poor dead polar bears hides to bring home to the clan for rugs or wall hangings.
