Hardball Turns Into DNC-TV

Chris Matthews, presumably away on vacation, handed the reigns of MSNBC's Hardball to Democratic activist Reverend Al Sharpton. The first two guests, in the first half-hour, of the Sharpton hosted July 2 episode, were Democrats - Howard Dean and Terry McAuliffe. The hot topic of the discussion with Dean was about how the John McCain campaign and the GOP, overall, were suffering in their fundraising efforts. The following "hardball" segment, with McAuliffe, featured the Hillary Clinton campaign chairman crowing about her fundraising success.

After the McAuliffe segment, Sharpton, actually interviewed a Republican. Predictably, Sharpton's questions to presidential candidate, Representative Duncan Hunter, were tougher than the ones to his Democratic colleagues. Following the Hunter segment, Sharpton quickly returned to his Democratic friends, as he invited on Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Chris Dodd.

In the "Hardball Debate" segment, Sharpton asked his guests if the Supreme Court has moved "too far to the right." Sharpton was joined, in the discussion, by a conservative, the American Spectator's R. Emmett Tyrrell and, yet another Democrat, strategist Jenny Backus. That left the final guest tally, including Sharpton, at five liberals to just two conservatives.

You did say MSNBC, right?

I now this is about liberal bias, but it's like this:

"If they spout their liberal bias, but nobody is watching, then, have they really said anything?"

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.

The scariest part of this who

The scariest part of this whole story is that Chris Matthews is on vacation. I cringe to think what a creature like that does for leisure.

When are the moron's of the

When are the moron's of the media going to stop attempting to cram Al Sharpton down the throats of everyone. And as for the Democrats?? The Democrats can't do anything good for this country anymore; all they care about is their political reputation. I never thought I would trust a Republican before a Democrat, but now I do. I am still very moderate, I just despise Democrats at the moment. Bleh!

This just in, Bush will com

This just in, Bush will commute Scooter's sentence, within minutes according to John Gibson.

Sweeeettttttt!

Take that, libtards!!!

If thats true ckc, which I ho

If thats true ckc, which I hope it is, thats three consecutive slaps in the mug this week already to the Libs. I love it!

When was Hardball not DNC-TV, 20 years ago, maybe?

No. That's the era when the media all were whining about spending "cuts" on all three networks as SPENDING LEVELS WENT UP, and I threw things at my TVs -- because even back then, without any internet version yet, I was reading Reason magazine, so I knew they all were full of biased big government crapola.

And when are the Democrats

And when are the Democrats going to start claiming shows like this one as "in kind" contributions?

This is exactly why the Dems love McCain/Feingold....when everyone else has to shut up just before the election, shows like this will still be on TV.

It's a kangaroo parade of leftist heroes

I was watching this too, I was surprised how brazenly and obvious MSNBC was showing their blue stripes. Right before a commercial break, Sharpton enticed the audience by questioning how far to the right the Supreme Court has become.

I guess when you're so completely to the left, any decision which doesn't reek of socialism is too conservative. I have this discussion daily, I don't agree with people that we should have universal "free" healthcare and yet I'm accused of being in bed with Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and every other DNC-approved stupid generalizations that there are.

As far as being in bed with e

As far as being in bed with either Michelle Malkin, or Ann Coulter............Ok, Let me stop. I'm a bad man!

But it feels so good being bad sometimes......

Hey ckc you were right, Bush

Hey ckc you were right, Bush just commuted Libby's sentence, I was hoping for a pardon, but we all know RINO's have no balls.

I guess the Fairness Doctrine would not apply to television...

Hell no jimini! It would only

Hell no jimini! It would only apply to areas where conservatives have a foothold. Plus everyone knows the broadcast media is "fair, and balanced" except for Fox News, dontcha know?

MSNBC boots off the guy who called black girls nappy- headed you-know-what but allows the nappy headed bigot who denegrates Jews to have the stage. Dan Abrams obviously doesn't think too highly of his own heritage.

A marvelous point Gat.  But

A marvelous point Gat.  But please don't denigrate Dan Abrams.  This blatant hypocrisy is right in line with Abrams heritage of liberal secularism . . . . . or is it secular liberalism?

I think it means the same bot

I think it means the same both ways - kind of like a metaphorical palindrome. I heard him taking off on Scooter Libby's commutation as if Bush just commuted the sentence of a convicted murder. But I guess only Clinton was allowed to do that.

Would this fall under the (un

Would this fall under the (un) fairness doctrine requiring Rev Al to say something nice about Repubs???

Chris Matthews handing over t

Chris Matthews handing over the reins to Al Sharpton---this just told me all I have ever needed to know about Chris Matthews

Well as much as I'd like to

Well as much as I'd like to jump on liberal bias with the mere fact that Sharpton was put in as host of the show, Michelle Malkin and Laura Ingram have hosted The O'Reilly Factor so on that particular point there really isn't a heck of alot to be able to contrast.

BUT, a big difference is Malkin and Ingram, from what I've seen of them on the Factor, can actually ask questions sensibly to someone of the opposite viewpoint, understanding that they are the HOST, and not an invited one-side-of-the-spectrum guest. Most times, not always of course. Now, to qualify my thoughts on Sharpton hosting, I did not see it, but Sharpton is not one who knows how to simply ask the questions without getting hot and heavy into the fray, so I assume his questioning was soft on libs and hard on the conservative, not in a common sensical way, but in a way that displayed his obvious liberal mindset. He is also a hard racebaiter and race player, and borders on racist, which makes it all the more interesting that Hardball had him hosting.

I didn't see it, so maybe I'm completely off, but that's one man's opinion. If anyone watched and saw it differently, please let me know how off I am if that's the case. And I'm not being facetious, but being serious on this one. Thanks.

They even know how to make money, treasury notes, etc., & then sell drugs, murder and maim, etc.  They all now work for Hillary!  http://www.usdoj.gov/pardon/clintonpardon_grants.htm

MSNBC...

MSNBC is DNCTV, no doubt. Slimeball w/Barney Rubble, Meltdown w/ Krazy Keith, Morning Schmo, & all of the sympathy pieces about those in prison are just part of the daily bias on there. But they are now courting Tokyo Rosie, she wants a "warm & fuzzy" daytime show on NBC, & a "politiical" show on MSNBC in the evening. You know the "9/11 Truthers" need a voice with a real platform, maybe she'll bring Alex Jones in as an "expert". I'll be laughing at them while they make me puke.

Just an aside, one night, when the subject of race was discussed, Olbermann was bragging about the fact that his fill in host is an African-American, Allison Stewert. I thought about it, & wondered if she regrets taking a demotion by leaving MTVnews to go to MSNBC? Being a fill in for Keith means you have to be on call, you never know when he'll be seeking refuge in his tub. Just ask someone who knows all too well about this, John Gibson.

"turns into"?  They have been DNC tv for 5 years or more.  The difference now is that don't even try to deny it.  MSNBC and any one who advertises on that piece of "s&%t" operation don't exist to me.
