Keith Olbermann, the same guy that pooh-poohed the seriousness of the terror plot of the so-called Fort Dix Six, hinted on his "The News Hole" blog last night that he had a similarly dismissive attitude about the London bomb attempts of June 29.
[Olbermann covered the story on his program, but I have not had a chance to review the tape]
Here's the pearl of moonbattery from Olbermann's blog last night (portion in bold my emphasis):
Picadilly Bomb Scare: The London bomb scare. The intent was clearly the real thing. But what these people put together and left parked, and, authorities say, twice failed to "go off"...Did it even constitute a bomb or would it have been at worst, a car fire? The former State Department deputy head of counter-terrorism has his doubts...
In light of today's Glasgow Airport car bomb attempt and the arrests that have been made in what may be a wider terror conspiracy, hopefully Olbie's smarmy, dismissive attitude about plots of terrorist violence is wearing rather thin.

June 30, 2007 - 20:17 ET by pbthinkerIt's obvious that Olberman believes that terrorism is bad for his party so he'll downplay it all he can. Why this man hasn't gotten a job at Airhead America is beyond me.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Fair enough if carried out fully. But, for Olbermann, when the challenge is shown to have no merit, he (or his puppet David Shuster) just presents new allegations today without telling us that his scepticism yesterday was shown to be wrong.
This is his M.O. (and the defense of his M.O.) all the time. And always challenges only from the left.

July 1, 2007 - 06:21 ET by motherbeltThat's right, drill....anything would have been poo-poohed. Hey, look at the WTC bombing of 1993....none other than the President warned everyone not to "overreact" and said it was an instance of "someone did something very stupid." That's all...no speculation of how horrific it would have been had they succeeded. The fact that they didn't use enough explosives or didn't plant them in exactly the right spot to bring down the buildings negated the seriousness of the attempt. And they learned from the attempt; used airplanes the next time.
In the same vein, Olbermann dismisses the intention just because he thinks the car bomb would not have done much damage. As if they wouldn't learn from the attempt.

June 30, 2007 - 21:56 ET by dahliatraversIf there hadn't been bollards (posts) at the door of Glasgow airport to stop that jeep, hundreds of people would be dead right now. No, that attack hadn't happened when Olbermann made his fatuous comments. But the two Mercedes found in London had both gasoline and tanks of propane in them. It's a miracle no one was killed by any of these attacks.
"Car fire"? Do they brief Olbermann on the news he is reporting and commenting on? Or do they just plant him in front of the camera, flash a headline to him and let him say any idiotic thing that pops into his head? "Car. Smoke. Car fire!"
Keith, as there is no danger (so you say), perhaps you'd volunteer to be a first responder and inspect any suspicious vehicles found on London's streets in the next week.

July 1, 2007 - 00:28 ET by daveinbocaK Odorboy had a spurious poseur named Larry Johnson on his comedy hour last night. LJ was minimizing and trivializing the London caper. Of course, this morning, had he any honest or shame, Johnson would have eaten his words, but Glasgow was just another German train/Fort Dix/London6/28 non-event.
Johnson, of course, was Clinton's deputy counter-terrorism czar and famously predicted in the NYT Op-Ed during July 2001 that all the intell that a big terrorist event was in the offing was hype. After 9/11, he never admitted his error.
And the American people are going to put our national security in the hands of incompetent imbeciles like Johnson and his promoter, Odorboy?

Here's an interesting angle that deserves comment.
#1. The attempted London bombing which, given the Glasgow tactic, looks clear to me like an attempt to ram the car into the nightclub Tiger Tiger packed with 200 women for the weekly ladies only night.
#2. It's the first holiday weekend in the UK with the schools out, and the Glasgow terminal was packed with children and their parents flying off on their vacations.
You think that was a co-incidence? I don't.
As to Olbermaniac, maybe someone could ram a burning Jeep Cherokee into his studio live on air, then he could give us one of his expert opinions on whether it constituted a bomb, or at worse, a car fire.

July 1, 2007 - 08:22 ET by dahliatraversAddressing the three attacks in Great Britain, Lord Stevens, London's former police chief
said the terrorists are using "the same technology, the same bomb-making techniques, the same operating methods as their brothers-in-arms in both Baghdad and Bali," the Indonesian resort town targeted several years ago.
I thought I'd bring this to Keith's attention, in case he thinks the attack on Glasgow Airport was ... oh, just someone who mistook the terminal entrance for a car wash ... and mistook the accelerator for the brake ... and was carrying spare gasoline to fill his lawn mower at home ... and they fought with police because they had parking tickets they didn't want to have to pay ... you know how these innocent events can be easily misinterpreted.

Talk about using terror for political gain, Olberscam never misses an opportunity.
