Remember the Palestinian children's show starring the Mickey Mouse ripoff, "Farfur?" Yeah, the one preaching global Islamic supremacy and shooting Jewish people with an AK-47.
The show got canceled, but not for the right reasons and far, far from the right way.
In the latest Hamas outrage, the show, "Tomorrow's Pioneers," featured Farfur being beaten to death by an actor playing the role of an Israeli:
Hamas TV on Friday broadcast what it said was the last episode of a weekly children's show featuring "Farfur," a Mickey Mouse look-alike who had made worldwide headlines for preaching Islamic domination and armed struggle to youngsters.
In the final skit, Farfur was beaten to death by an actor posing as an Israeli official trying to buy Farfur's land. At one point, Farfur called the Israeli a "terrorist."
"Farfour was martyred while defending his land," said Sara, the teen presenter. He was killed "by the killers of children," she added. [...]
Station officials said Friday that Farfur was taken off the air to make room for new programs.
Station manager Mohammed Bilal said he didn't know yet what would be shown instead.
Israeli officials have denounced the program, "Tomorrow's Pioneers," as incendiary and outrageous. The program was also opposed by the state-run Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation, which is controlled by Fatah.

June 29, 2007 - 15:52 ET by sarcasmoAt this point, I can not get the "Itchy & Scratchy" theme song out of my head! "We fight! And fight!........" I wonder if these same Palestinians get "The Simpsons," either over the air or cable? Authoritarians of various political stripes tend to disapprove of the show, so I kinda doubt it's available unless from a station in Israel. Does anyone know if Palestinians are allowed to & able to get Israeli TV?

Jeez Sarc, most of the Arabs
June 29, 2007 - 18:05 ET by stratmanJeez Sarc, most of the Arabs in and around Israel are not dirt hole farmers.
There's electricity, satellite TV, IPods, and even flush toilets.
And yes, Israeli over-the-air broadcast TV signal is available to anyone within range. The TV set receivers are not "specially" tuned like they are in North Korea. Unlike the gubmint subsidized people here in the USA, many of the Palestinians on the dole do not have cable/Satellite TV service.
You need to stop going to all those Berkley and San Fran protests for a while: http://www.zombietime.com/stop_the_us_israeli_war_8_12_2006/.

June 29, 2007 - 19:10 ET by stratmanJust got off the phone with a friend who returned from a two week trip to Israel last week. His early years were spent in Israel before he moved to the States. He's traveled in the Middle East as well, though not for a few years due to, well, he's jewish and Syria, Egypt, etc are not very neighborly all the time.
Anyways, he said that even poor Palestinians have satellite TV. Television is an obsession there like it is here. The Palestinian satellite offers channels from around the Middle East - Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, ect - and even Israeli and American, as well as a few European shows are broadcast. And there are more channels offered there than where I live now.
Interestingly, there are Arab stations produced and broadcasted from within Israel itself - 1.5 million Arabs plus 5 million Jews make up Israel. (Big topic of on going discussion in Israel is that in fifty years that there will be more Arab Israelis than Jewish Israelis because the number of children per family Arab:Jew is 3-5:1.)
As I said before, the Palestinian Territories do not usurp or block reception of Israeli broadcasting. Your might be thinking of North Korea. Next time you're watching the all too often staged protests or teenage rock throwing events, look at the rooftops of the buildings in the video. Note if there are any satellite dishes.
I wish I could remember where to find a certain photographic expose on media bias and staged Palestinian events which first showed the typical teens throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers/vehicles. Lots of passion and an aire of danger. What were these children thinking? They could be harmed by the mean Israelis!. Then a wider angle photo is shown, the kind of picture we don't get to see in our media, which tells the story a little bit fuller. Out of view in the first picture are a bunch of grown-ups laughing, chatting, egging the kids on while a falafel cart sells sandwhiches and cool drinks to the on lookers. Also seen are the rock getters, those that bring the rocks to the teens so they can throw them at Israelis for the press to photograph for all the world to see the desparation of the Palestinians.
Hope this helps in your understanding and knowledge.
PS - the rocks need to be brought in as the streets are not littered with them, unlike what we are led to believe by our MSM.

June 30, 2007 - 22:57 ET by stratmanTrying to make fun of you or trying to make fun with you?
I can see by your language that I wounded you. That was not my intent with those 3 posts. If my intent was to make fun of you, I wouldn't have wasted time detailing about Palestinians and satellite TV's in two posts.
For clarity, my intent was to bring in theater of the absurd with the link, not to seriously suggest you were a participant in the protest. I guess I could parse things out and use semantics to hide behind - ".. stop going..." does not specifically mean participating - but that would be disingenuous. It was silly and absurd fun and not meant as an affront to you. While there may be a time in the future I will insult you, or I take umbrage at your words, this particular event was of no such intent or effect on my part. I will try to be much clearer in the future with you, especially when insulting.
Post whatever you feel necessary. I have been insulted by people much less anonymous than you. You are sarcasmo, afterall, a name that denotes a provocateur utilizing bitter irony at the expense of another. I enjoy irony, even recognizing its presence in this situation, but the bitterness of sarcasm gets old and unproductive and is the overriding reason I do not enjoy Jon Stewart's brand of humor".
To prevent future misunderstandings, maybe we should keep things mullet-like between us: All business up front, all party in the back.
I have now read your NB bio and understand you do not always respond. Even so, I will not take for granted you have even read this post. Therefore, I will not assume anything positive or negative as may be implied or inferred by a non-reply from you.
Lastly, I have gone over some of your past posts and found we are not always diametrically opposed as you appear inclined to think. Maybe both of us should feel insulted.
Best wishes.

July 2, 2007 - 02:08 ET by sarcasmoThe thing is, if you're gonna be that far-off about me physically and ideologically, how can (or why should?) I trust anything you say about the amenities of Palestinians?? And plenty of hypersensitive conservatives here make idiotic assumptions about me & the tax and spend drugwar, so a quick slap is more like a reaction of: "oh, no...Not another imaginative antilibertarian idiot!" than anything that "wounded" anyone. The intellect of some people here, to be brutally-honest, hasn't exactly impressed me. I guess I'm just not all that tolerant of lies about me around here, since I don't pretend to be an authority on all that much, but I happen to think I'm the only authority on "me."

How heartwarming to see a psychiatrist, supposedly a well respected one in Maniac Mooslum Land, extoll the virtues and saneness of martyring oneself as a suicide bomber.
