CNN says Ohio policeman and slaying suspect Bobby Cutts Jr. is just a “complex” guy in a headline on a June 26th AP story. Slaying suspect Cutts had complex personal life
Yeah, it’s complex all right. Cutts fathered four kids with three women, and then allegedly murdered his pregnant girlfriend. To most people, that’s evil. To CNN, it’s merely … complex. As Culture and Media Institute writer David Niedrauer notes, “They tell the story as if circumstances simply drove a good man to do an evil thing.”

I read an interview with Jessie's mother. She said Cutts showed up at Jessie's house after she called and told him Jessie was missing. He was STILL dressed in his police uniform, coming off the night shift. That would mean, he was "on duty" when he [killed] Jessie. Now, a friend of mine expressed `what does that matter?' ... Matter a hell of a lot to me that this man didn't even take his badge to uphold the law and protect the citizens seriously enough NOT to commit murder while on duty. THAT fact should be stressed by the prosecution in this case.
Also, a dead give-awy for me was another thing in the interview with the mother. She explained how distraught or devastated Cutts became as soon as he was told Jessie was missing.
To me that's a dead, no pun, give-away. Jessie was nterm and being with second child might have gone into labor while trying to walk to neighbors for assistance. She might have left for a walk and gone into labor. Any number of explainable, but unexpected, things.
Anxious and worried, maybe ... but dievastated or distraught is quite queer (in the original sense of the word), and a bit over reactive for a cop.
Cutts? Complex? Naw, more like Cutts ... bad actor. (See: O.J.) And on that note, look for Cutts's defense to play the race card here ...

Cutts’ life was complicated by the evil of his own sin, period. Life is much less complicated when one is not wrapped up in evil behavior. God wants us free from that complication, which leads in the end to Hell, that’s why He sent Jesus.

Again, this is a local thing
June 28, 2007 - 12:09 ET by malcumAgain, this is a local thing for me. There is a 2 year old witness to the crime: his son with the victim. The grandmother found the child alone a day or 2 after the crime. Now, grandma knows this kid and has probably been it's surrogate mother for 2 years as is common in single mother/available granny situations. She knew within a minute or 2 that Cutts did it. The police released the fact that the kid said "mommy broke the table", mommy is in the rug". It's not a big stretch to think that he also said "Daddy hurt my mommy" The police were smart here. Knowing how releasing information to the press kills high profile cases they just kept quiet about all the details. They just let this creep think that he was only a suspect. After a few days and he had time to think about it he had to come to the realization [he was a cop after all ] that they knew and it was only a matter of time until they had all the evidence lined up to arrest him. It's not known for sure yet but most likely he confessed. We can't figure out why he didn't kill the boy too since he was obviously an eyewitness.

June 28, 2007 - 12:16 ET by QueenMummalcum: I've been particularly impressed by the way that the authorities and the family have not allowed the media to bully them into providing information. I find it amusing that the media has pulled every trick in the book to try to get someone to say something about the case that's not yet been released. Cutts' attorney will have a hard time convincing any judge that his client cannot get a fair trial. I'm proud to be a citizen of Stark County.

The only other restaurant I can think of in the immediate vicinity is the Four Winds. Not such a great place anymore. Mostly a place for the elderly to enjoy a nice meal.

Joe Six Pack and murder
June 28, 2007 - 12:46 ET by antilibJoe six-pack is a good looking guy, white and a serial philanderer with a murderous bent and a GOP voting record. He has a former wife who is black and another girlfriend concurrent with his first marriage.
He goes into a fit of rage against his black girl friend and kills her and his unborn child. MSNBC, CBS, NBC and CNN all lead with a variation of the same theme and presumption: "CONSERVATIVE WHITE PHILANDERER KILLS BLACK GIRLFRIEND AND FETUS"
"Norah O'Funnel is here with the story." "Norah, some are asking if this killing is a trend amongst conservative whites and their malicious feelings of repressed aggression versus black people?"..... And from this starting point the story spreads across the universe with no mention of the killer's complicated psyche and relationships, ever.

June 28, 2007 - 13:24 ET by malcumWe still have to wait for the pro "choice" and NOW groups to come forward and challenge the double murder indictment against Cutts. They will claim that he only committed one murder [alledged], not 2. The second charge should be thrown out because it was only a fetus and therefore since no one's alive to complain it is de facto legal to kill it. And, if the courts allow this abomination to take place it's only a matter of time before they take away ALL recreational abortions.

That's the paradox we in Ohio have. If it's manslaughter, wrongful death, or murder in a case such as this, how can Ohio continue to be a state that permits abortion?

June 28, 2007 - 13:36 ET by malcumThe point you make is well taken. I certainly see the paradox. How can the state throw a 16 year old girl in jail for 20 years for throwing her newborn in a dumpster and yet let a doctor legally murder it 5 minutes before it's born?
My earlier post was supposed to be sarcastic since these groups have tried this ruse in the past.

(A) No person shall purposely, and with prior calculation and design, cause the death of another or the unlawful termination of another’s pregnancy.
(B) No person shall purposely cause the death of another or the unlawful termination of another’s pregnancy while committing or attempting to commit, or while fleeing immediately after committing or attempting to commit, kidnapping, rape, aggravated arson, arson, aggravated robbery, robbery, aggravated burglary, burglary, terrorism, or escape. - Per Ohio Revised Code
There are similar specifications re: murder, both voluntary and involuntary manslaughter, and both reckless and negligent homicide.
Note the specification re: "unlawful termination". I guess that covers the abortionist's butt, eh?
