We had a lot of fun sharing clips, tunes, and videos on a recent forum topic, I figured we should have a topic dedicated to that. I think it will be a fun place to share our favorites with each other.
I think there should be a couple ground rules:
1. Nothing obscene (porn, excessive vulgar language, or excessively violent)
2. It would be nice to give a bit of background about what you are sharing. For example: Why you like it, anything noteworthy about it, etc.
I look forward to seeing/hearing the things we want to share.

My Liberal-Existentialist friend first played her for me back in the winter of '06. He liked her so much, he bought the album on import because Back to Black wasn't available here at the time.

October 14, 2007 - 23:58 ET by UnsaneRecently the Finnish band Nightwish released their latest album, Dark Passion Play. If you like your metal symphonic (I have also described them as Dream Theater with a female vocalist), check them out. This is their first album with the Swedish vocalist Anette Olzon, and while not as operatic as their previous vocalist, she performs perfectly well. They are touring the United States for what I believe is their first time, and can't wait for their visit to Houston.

I got into 'em ALL. Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Slayer...brings back memories! To this day I still jam out to them, and get hold of some of the newer guys like Meshuggah.

June 22, 2007 - 22:21 ET by Mean Gene Dr. LoveO.K. here are my first ones. This is Hollow (the acoustic version), Juicy (the one Applebees and Desperate Housewives have used in their commercials), Desperately Wanting, Good, In The Blood, Rosealia, King of New Orleans, and A Lifetime all by Better Than Ezra.
BTE is one of my most favorite bands, I own all of their albums, I've seen them live several times, and hope to see them again in the future. Kevin Griffin is a great songwriter (he's done quite a few songs for a wide range of people...some of them have even been featured on American Idol) and he's a more than adequate vocalist and a talented guitarist. BTE is always very entertaining in their live shows...they do comical medleys of covers ranging from ZZ Top's La Grange to Van Halen's Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love to The Cure's Just Like Heaven to David Bowie's Major Tom. As a bonus, I've never seen or heard them wax political. They support the troops and frequently dedicate their song Recognize to the U.S. fighter and bomber pilots. If you ever have the chance to see them live, don't miss out.
Check out more at www.betterthanezra.com. They are almost always touring...check it out to see if they will be in your area.

That's the song (a bad version)..but there were no original versions of it on YouTube. I love the spanish/flamenco guitar sound. If you ever go to Marbella, Spain you must visit the Ana María for the best flamenco experience. It is a small, cozy hole-in-the-wall where they have live flamenco music, singing and dancing (the flamenco clapping and tapping are unbelievable!--and the dancers are nice to look at too). It was one of the high-lights of our trip in Andalusia. I will go back next time I'm in Spain.
