I was having a discussion
August 1, 2007 - 06:07 ET by WhichWingI was having a discussion about global warming at work the other day, and someone asked me "If global warming is all a fraud, what is the motivation for the fraud?" I didn't have an answer for him. Anybody got something?

Have your opposite number
August 1, 2007 - 06:10 ET by UnsaneHave your opposite number explain to you why such developing nations as China, Brazil, and India, among others, are exempt from the Kyoto Protocol.
(And it should be noted that China now is the #1 emitter of greenhouse gases, yet not a peep from the greenies or the media. Why is this? And, as one who has been to China: trust me, the pollution there is worse than anything I have seen in the United States.)

I've got some "carbon credits"
August 1, 2007 - 06:11 ET by sarcasmoI've got some "carbon credits" for sale. I print up fancy certificates, cash the checks from the suckers, and all CO2 related guilt is deemed forgiven with the cooperation of a big government god many people worship. Does that sound familiar?
Or maybe I'm just a small manufacturer of whatevers in China. In addition to slavery-level wages (if not actual slavery!) I'd like to keep selling as cheaply as possible, no matter how much CO2 I put out, and I support the rules applying to my competition because they won't apply to me. I could go on...

August 1, 2007 - 07:41 ET by WhichWingWhat do our politicians and groups of scientists stand to gain by promoting the global warming theory?

Well, certain politicians
August 1, 2007 - 07:46 ET by sarcasmoWell, certain politicians who strongly promote it have seemed in the past to have strong (if not treasonous!) financial connections with China, so please see my comment above for your answer in terms of the politicians.
As for scientists, big government's too involved in science, and scientists know what kinds of studies are likely to get continued political funding and what kinds aren't, so they behave accordingly. It's much like the lobbyist market, actually -- science would be less corrupt if less money were getting constantly thrown at it by Washington, DC, so the solution is, you guessed it, less spending for a change.

July 1, 2007 - 01:28 ET by GlobalWarmingHoaxI just did a piece titled "Kilimanjaro Glacier Isn't Melting, More Proof That Al Gore Had It Wrong" that I think you'll like. Based off the same study Reuters quotes but I think you'll like my version better.
