Coming back from a commercial break that included a plug for "the best reporting, the power of NBC News" on "Super Tuesdays," MSNBC's Chris Matthews was caught uttering an expletive, complaining about the content of the network's programming.
The "Hardball" host complained that "we're all reacting here and putting on shit" with the network's breaking news coverage pertaining to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg leaving the GOP to become an independent.

Immediately thereafter, Matthews caught his error and began reading from the teleprompter.

June 20, 2007 - 10:58 ET by CaringwhiteguyThe big story here is not Matthews' "sh*t", it's Bloomberg's departure from the party he parked at for convenience sake these past few years. This is wonderful news for Republicans. More departures of RINOs should be greeted with hearty applause. And please let's have him run for President as an independent. There's no doubt he'd hurt the Democrat candidate and NOT the Republican

June 20, 2007 - 11:32 ET by GalvanicA Bloomberg candidacy could be the death knell for half the Democratic candidates. He's always been a Democrat-in-practice, and being an non-Beltway entity with a "Independent" label over his liberal agenda, he can suck all the air out of the campaigns of Biden, Dodd, Richardson, and maybe even Kucinich.
His impact on Republican votes? Zilch. His impact on GOP candidates? Ron Paul can fold up the pup tent and go home.
His chances of winning the Presidency? Zero. Even if he were to win enough electoral votes to prevent any candidate from achieving a majority, the election would then be thrown to the House of Representatives for a decision, which would never pick Bloomberg.
Tactically, it's interesting. Where Dem and Rep candidates will spend tens of millions of $$$ on primaries, and expose themselves to voter scrutiny and wooing the press, an Independent Bloomberg could save all his cash (and he's got a bunch) for the actual election.
Yea and Amen!
June 20, 2007 - 13:37 ET by goldenthroatCwg, Yea and Amen to that!
Bloominidiotberg was a disgrace and embarrassment to the GOP and, personally, I am glad he filed his exit papers. It's one less New York RINO to put up with - hey, Mikey, don't let the door hit you in your hypocritical derriere on the way out!
Goodbye and good riddance!
Never dance on an empty stomach unless is a liberal.

June 20, 2007 - 11:45 ET by JimboBloomberg running as a third party candidate has the potential to do to the Democratic candidate what Ross Perrot did to the first George Bush. Expect heavy resistance from the Democrats on this.

Is Matthews calling Bloomberg S**T
June 20, 2007 - 12:28 ET by Lame CherryOK, I just can't resist this as is the s**t Matthews is putting on literally referring to Bloomberg in a Freudian slip?
What I just love as all Conservatives is when the patricians decide they can fly without all of these stupid (their terms) Christians, Patriots and Conservatives....and then just like George Bush 43 in Harriet Miers and Illegals finds the old gas goes right out of the balloon without them.
Bloomberg, I beg you to run on your sodomite, big government, aborticide, American hating agenda. That garbage gets you selected in New York, but when you hit the real world from East LA, Philly to Mineapolis they already have ministers of mayhem in democrats doing their bidding and all that is left for your votes will be deluded "Republicans" like Trent Lot which will amount to 3 votes. So spend your billion Bloomberg and join the rest of us working poor who have been enslaved by your immoral policies which is taking our money to fun aids research in the billions when NO would solve the problem, billions more in aborticide now running us over with illegals and mothers in hospitals with preemies as scraping a womb causes preemies and billions more creating a sloven class looking for a national nipple to suckle.
What a worthless space taker these patricians are in their gotham towers. It will be wonderful to see olde suit find out what real America is.......and then get so mad he starts calling Americans stupid for not voting for his Constitutional butchery.

June 20, 2007 - 14:00 ET by GothampcI don't know why jerkwad Bloomberg is even considering running. He's horrible at giving speeches. He has that arrogant wealthy "tough luck" attitude that we New Yorkers have had to deal with time and time again. Somebody needs to grab him and say "Let it go."
