I know what you're thinking after reading Tim's earlier post on Joe Klein. How delusional can this guy get?
Well, try this on for size.
According to the Time reporter and "Swampland" blogger, "George W. Bush is no moderate. He has governed as a radical, and we'll be paying the price for his thoughtless extremism for years to come."
Of course, this is the same president that spawned conservative frustration over:
- Creating the Department of Homeland Security, originally an idea of then-Democratic, now independent Sen. Joseph Lieberman (Conn.)
- Picking up the veto pen only twice in his six years in office, despite massive spending bills that could and should have been vetoed.
- No Child Left Behind, the product of bipartisan cooperation with the very liberal Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.)
- Campaign Finance Reform
- Harriet Miers
- Botching the push for Social Security privatization
- Failing to use his political capital to push for a thorough overhaul/reform of the maddeningly complex federal tax code

Um...
How does Klien's mind work?
From out of the dark, with a thought in his head, with super human effort, the Uber Klien types out a column; and from the absolute foundation of total ignorance about which he writes...
The NYT publishes another rant of drivel filled with bad assumptions; poor logic and hate.
Now I feel better.

How can someone, like Klein, who has so little insight and analytical ability (and who's just plumb wrong all the time) get access to the public media - and get paid for it, to boot? I'd just as likely trust a chipmunk typing...

June 15, 2007 - 12:46 ET by ArchConservativeI only wish that GWB was a radical conservative. It would have meant that we would have kept the House and Senate because President Bush would have been more focused on conservative values than "getting along", he would have brought back the age of Reagan, we would be much closer to Social Security privatization and permanent tax cuts, we would be much more united in our Global War on Terrorism, and we would have a better chance to keep the presidency in 2008. A great opportunity wasted.

That was a nice list, but it failed to mention his first big sleep-in with tfk, the huge $$ bill for an education department many of us think should be abolished and state control reinstated.
And Ken, you left off the latest tfk sleep-over, AMNESTY! I for one am tired of the whole Bush syndrome and was really enthused re Fred Thompson. Now his team is filling with look alikes and others who may give us more of the same-old.
I don't know why I should expect any different. You know, maybe there really needs to be a party like the Christian Republics or some such.

June 15, 2007 - 13:42 ET by WiggySo, George Bush is a radical conservative? That is laughable. He is no conservative and I point to these as proof:
No child left behind
Prescription drugs
Dubai ports
Immigration reform
George Bush has ruined the GOP. I wonder what he would say about a true conservative.
Joe Klein is a Bigot Conservaphobe
June 15, 2007 - 14:06 ET by Lame CherryTime magazine in it's zenith used to be a relatively fair publication, but with Joe Klein one gets a buddy of Bill Clinton lying about writing books for him and the perfect tapper of a keyboard trying to be a blogger in a most appropriate place called Swampland which is filled with stinking, slimey, infested malevolents filled with hate.
Klein last week termed Dick Armey's thoughts as a "disease". This is the same Klein who was blasting left wingers for being rude.
Somewhere in the ilk Klein, Huffington and all the rabid rippers of writing on the left all think that being a blogger is a place to be foul. That is why I never will equate Joe Klein as a blogger as all he is is a word thug. A blogger is someone of intelligence, insight and as is proven here daily a source of hillarious one sentence satire.
That is the difference in Conservatives in how they blog. They get angry, but express in cutting words facts to win the public mind. Liberals like Klein only lie, deny and villify in the worst possible nut case malevolence.
For the nut cases like Klein, here is an explanation of George Bush. George Bush is a Texas patrician Republican with Christian influences in his life. He is what I termed back in the 80's a Cuban Republican which means he is Conservative on security issues, but liberal on domestic issues. He is allot like Bill Buckley in thinking government is a necessity in influencing people for good.
Klein like all his ilk think "we all look the same" in his bigotry and has no idea what a Conservative is or the any branches which make up the Republican party.George Bush is not a Conservative, but is a Texas patrician like his dad was an eastern patrican Republican. Nothing wrong with that if you like their big government, taxing, spending and daddy democracy for the world.
I don't, but considering the other horses in the stable were John Kerry and GlobAL Gore I chose Bush as while he is like a mule on issues when Conservatives go to the whip on Harriet Miers and now on Ilegals he tends to wise up and go back on the race track for another lap.

The list above should also include what amounts to a 40% increase in federal spending for anti-poverty programs just in the last six or so years--real ultra-conservative stuff there, huh?
What makes Bush a rabid Right Winger
June 15, 2007 - 18:06 ET by exLibHe REALLY believe in not only God, But JESUS, The Bible, Good and Evil..
All those things liberal are too "smart" to really believe in.
Liberals like guys like Bill Clinton and John Edwards because they know that they use relgion to influence the stupid, ignorant "believers" into voting for them. And that's Ok, because they need those votes to get elected.
It's kind of like telling your kids about Santa and The Tooth Fairey. They dont' exist but your kids believe in them and it's useful to keep them happy and doing what you want.
