"We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to 'The View' and wish her well."
"View" creator Barbara Walters also made her statement.
"I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at 'The View.' I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change."
Rosie O'Donnell stated on her website, "I am extremely grateful. It's been an amazing year and I love all three women."
This announcement came just two days after her now infamous fight with token non-liberal Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
During her very controversial tenure on "The View" Rosie used her daily perch to spout off very extreme left wing opinions. Her latest controversy involved her implication that the United States is engaging terrorism. She advanced September 11 conspiracy theories, made anti-Catholic remarks, and implied that captured British sailors were another "Gulf of Tonkin" hoax.
