WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada made the following remarks today on the floor of the U.S. Senate:
[W]e began debate on the complex and crucial issue of immigration reform.
This week, we will vote on cloture and final passage of a comprehensive bill that will strengthen border security, bring the 12 million undocumented Americans out of the shadows, and keep our economy strong. In the days ahead, we will work to improve the bill to protect and strengthen family ties while improving the structure of the temporary-worker program.

"Undocumented AMERICANS"??? Last time I checked, there was no such thing. ALL Americans are "documented". So, Illegal Alien became Illegal Immigrant became Undocumented Immigrant becomes Undocumented AMERICAN? Why is this moron still wasting the air and taking up gravity in D.C.? And he is the LEADER of the Senate majority? And Democrats are allowing him to REMAIN in this leadership position?
And why is this not major headline news? How can 300 million AMERICANS allow this asshat to unilaterally grant American citizenship to 12-20 million fence hoppers? Doesn't citizenship in this great nation mean ANYTHING anymore? Is there no pride left in this country?
The non-response to this blatant assumption of authority and empty rhetoric is most indicative of the apathy becoming rampant in Americans, and it will be our undoing...

June 13, 2007 - 13:42 ET by Jerry MackI can only surmise that he is speaking for all the senators that voted for cloture. Harry says that this is George Bushs' bill? Blames Bush for the defeat. Seems Harry wants it both ways. I have not heard him explain why "his" Democrat senators voted no.
Harry's just keeping the &quo
June 15, 2007 - 08:20 ET by BeowulfHarry's just keeping the "Blame Bush" rhetoric alive, as well as clearly demonstrating his, and his party leadership's, total disconnect with most Americans. As has become their standard, nothing will ever be mentioned that detracts from their agenda. And if there is nothing positive to say, they'll make something up. After all, who's going to challenge them? If his invented phrase of "undocumented Americans" gets a pass, then literally anything coming from the far-left will.
And Harry, like most lefties, ALWAYS want it both ways. "Do as I say, not as I do" really should be adopted as the party motto.

June 15, 2007 - 09:02 ET by BeowulfUnfortunately, the new deomcrats are hooded masters of rhetoric. They have accomplished nothing since regaining power except establishing an all time high of soundbites full of inane rhetoric and hypocrisy. Of course, they've been practicing for the last 4 or 5 years, which is what put them in the majority.
