Can you remember the last time you heard "Today" or other MSM outlets describe, in terms such as "over the top," rabid anti-Bush protests by the likes of the Cindy Sheehan crowd, the Code Pink girls, or the folks pictured below ? Neither can I. Conversely, when Bill Clinton receives enthusiastic receptions overseas, the MSM breaks out the "rock-star" analogies, with no sarcasm in sight. But let President Bush receive a warm welcome from Eastern European crowds who appreciate his leadership on behalf of their freedom, and "Today" just can't take it.
On this morning's "Today" at 7:04 am EDT, NBC's Kelly O'Donnell reported from Bulgaria on the president's European trip, in which crowds in Bulgaria and notably in Albania greeted him very enthusiastically.
NBC CORRESPONDENT KELLY O'DONNELL: We've seen the president get a warm, sometimes over-the-top reaction here in Eastern Europe where countries send troops to Iraq and also generally back the president. So he may not be all that anxious to get back to Washington."View video here.
A similar phenomenon over at Good Morning America, where Chris son-of-Mario Cuomo mocked:GOOD MORNING AMERICA CO-HOST CHRIS CUOMO: So maybe that's where he goes after the president's over. He winds up moving to Albania and becomes the Big Man on Campus.Actually, Chris, it's Democrats who typically declare their intention to leave the country, though they rarely follow through on their promises.

June 11, 2007 - 07:14 ET by PawpawNThink of all the warm fuzzy things that would have been said if Clinton was who they swooned over! Isn't it a shame that it took camera crews in another land to show what the majority of Americans feel. You'd never get a crew in USA to send video of this in to show on air. & think how much air time it got! What, all of 5 seconds, not even long enough for a bull ride(8 seconds)!!

June 11, 2007 - 08:09 ET by general companyAmazing how much freedom is appreciated by those who have just recently received it. I guess the MSM doesnt approve, guess they are the only one's worthy? Seems to me it wouldn't had made any difference to them (Eastern European's) who the US President was, that why I consider this type of reporting USA bashing plain and simple. They (Today, GMA) just cant stand that anyone sees this country as righteous and good. BTW Cuomo, Bush is already big man on campus,,,,,,,,isn't that why your so upset?

June 11, 2007 - 08:13 ET by Mica the MagnificentPeople who appreciate their new-found freedom and embrace the world's most outspoken leader of freedom, is lost on MSM types who embrace dictators and the unquestionable similarity of U.S. liberal leadership.
Remember when Fidel visited Harlem? He was met with schoolboy glee by Chucky (I'm smarter than you) Schumer and Charles (I've represented you people for decades and you're still poor) Rangel. The liberal press, for the most part, covered that story as an important meeting. This is where I first read that Fidel's troubled country was due to the U.S. embargo. I do not recall any questions from the MSM why these U.S. senators would be so rock-star-fan silly meeting a thug?
There is no wonder why the MSM is confused over the love showed President Bush in Albania, he is not the dictator-type they worship.

EXACTLY, MTM, the MSM morons just don't get it. It won't be in my lifetime or President Bush's but historians will list President Bush as one of the top presidents of all time. Chuck Schumer and Charles 'bullhorn' Rangel are liberal jokes, that's why the MSM loves them. Lift the embargo, things won't change in Cuba, we're the only country that they don't import things from.
I'd rather hunt with Dick Cheney than ride with Ted Kennedy.

June 11, 2007 - 08:38 ET by GalvanicApparently, the Albanians aren't on distribution for DNC talking points and MSM memos.
Taking the ridiculous even further, I listened to C-Span radio on the way to work this morning, and one Bush-hater explained the warm reaction in Albania by noting that countries that lived in the Soviet sphere during the Cold War have a warm spot for despots, and Bush is certainly a despot. (?)
What the caller was apparently unaware of were facts such as --
1) The Albanians had left the Soviet sphere in the early '60s, and after a period of gravitation toward Communist China, eventually cut loose from them, too.
2) The peoples of Eastern Europe don't prefer despots. When the Soviet yoke was lifted, they threw the despots out. Even the despots who tried to replace the departing despots were chucked (except, arguably, in Belorussia and even Putin's Russia)

June 11, 2007 - 08:46 ET by kathleenirishLiberals make up their own version of events, especially on public radio where their condescension and elitism is on an especially high horse, so what does it matter what really goes on now or how history really was shaped?
I found the MSM's reporting this weekend to be laughable when it came to being so negative about something as positive as Bush's reception in Eastern Europe. They outdid themselves.
I really hate the friggin' MSM.
Anyone who says they support the troops but not the mission is a liar.

June 11, 2007 - 10:12 ET by doubledown552Bush sucks. Chavez, Castro, and Ahmadinejad rule! Nothing Bush does is good and everything they do is gold. Bandwagons are fun when they are beating the hell out of a dead horse. Integrity is dead, and I love it that way!

June 11, 2007 - 11:40 ET by mattmBush is far from perfect. His faults lie in the fact that he's too much of a Big Government moderate. Despite this he is definitely NOT the worst president ever. In fact, history might show him to be one of the better ones we've had.
The fact that the Left is so adamant about pining Bush with the "worst ever" label proves that they know that their buddies Billy and Jimmah are better suited to that description - so how to deflect that criticism? Simple - criticize someone else.
It's like the little kid with an inferiority complex who compensates by insulting the other kids. Libs forgot the lesson that when you point your finger at someone, three fingers are pointing back at yourself.
