Pro-environment Candidates Fly to Presidential Debate on Separate Planes

Assume for a second that you were a pro-environment presidential candidate that believed in anthropogenic global warming.

Would you be trying to demonstrate that energy conservation and reducing carbon emissions were not just so many words in a stump speech, but something you truly believed in?

Would you also expect that an impartial press might be analyzing your activities to make sure they accurately reflected the green position you were preaching?

Apparently, if you were Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Chris Dodd, or Joe Biden, this would not be much of a concern. As reported by the Associated Press (emphasis added):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

A flock of small jets took flight from Washington Thursday, each carrying a Democratic presidential candidate to South Carolina for the first debate of the political season.

For Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden, it was wheels up shortly after they voted in favor of legislation requiring that U.S. troops begin returning home from Iraq in the fall.

No one jet pooled, no one took commercial flights to save money, fuel or emissions.

Now, consider for a moment the hypocrisy here: we Americans are being told by the left and the media that support them that we all need to make sacrifices to prevent an imminent cataclysm caused by a planet that is warming due to our own misdeeds.

Yet, these four "green" Senators couldn’t fly from the same place to the same place on the same plane to conserve energy and cut planet-threatening emissions?

Furthermore, as this is a huge issue that the media have been championing for many months, shouldn’t this hypocrisy have been exposed, or is that asking too much of today’s journalists?

I know; it’s a rhetorical question.

On the peasants vs. the candidates

The greenies' carbon footprint will be more than offset when we peasants give up our way of life...

LMAO!!! All I can say is, you can't make this stuff up!!

It doesn't end with planes

Then there are the limos that probably took them to the various airports and the limos that transported them to the auditorium, the private jet that took Brian Williams to SC, the cars of various flunkies running errands, the vast amounts of electricity needed to pull off a quality (in the technical sense) television broadcast, and on, and on, and on...

I didn't watch the debate, so I wonder if Brian Williams brought any of this hypocrisy up. My guess: Probably not.

When you put the clowns in charge, don't be surprised when a circus breaks out.

You can't attach the label hypocrite to a liberal!  They are the beautiful people!  They tell YOU what to think and do: NOT the other way around!  We should just be happy to gaze upon their properly lit and made-up faces!!  Now, get rid of those incandescent lights and buy these expensive, twisted flourescent ones produced in China with electricity generated by a coal-fired plant right now!

It would have been a great debate question, wouldn't it?

OR, one of the candidates could have scored big when this question was brought up: "Tell me about a mistake you made recently, and how this makes you a better candidate?" I think half of them answered in a Bush-bashing way. But one of the should have said "My mistake was taking a privite jet here. I don't know what I was thinking, but I'm flying commercial back home".

It'll never happen.

And to think that taxpayer do

And to think that taxpayer dollars were squandered on flying these morons so they could pontificate on how we plebians need to be more environmentally aware.

IF they talk about it, they will undoubtedly blame it on campaign finance laws....

Really, who would pay the lion's share of the flight? Hillary and Obama? They are the 'richest' in campaign contributions, therefore they must help out the poorer of the candidates by being required to 'voluntarily' give up some of their hard earned 'income', right?!?

Please make sure your train of thought carries freight.

I think you're on to something there... call it Campaign Income Redistribution... Lets see how Barack and Hillary would like them apples...

There is no reason to criti

There is no reason to criticize them, or Gore, or anybody else, about being hypocrites in their actions as they relate to this climate change junk because they obviously don't believe in it and as far as I am concerned, nobody in their right mind would.

The human mind has evolved such that it will allow some ideas to be held equally true and false, and apply belief in the validity of one or the other according to circumstances. In general, these circumstances usually involve other people, and judgement is applied to evaluate the kinds of behaviors that one finds acceptable in others. In other words, I'm the first person to admit I'm a hypocrite, and when one gets to be my age, universal human behavior is just accepted.

Nobility comes from applying no standard to others any higher than one will apply to themselves, this understanding comes from maturity, and some people never mature.

Fine group of candidates, aren't they? Very, very high quality. Consider their long list of achievements, such as ...

... well I can't think of any right at the moment, but I will.

I only hope, they all recognize, the money it takes to send them on trips, and their salaries, and all the things they plan to give out, like health care, and welfare, and lots of good things, COMES FROM people who actually WORK and make things and these things are sold, and this creates an ECONOMY and that ECONOMY creates MONEY and without that money, there will be nothing to give out!

So, new candidates, remember, you can't DO THINGS that will ruin the economy, because people will GET ANGRY when they don't get the things you promised them!

Don't listen to BAD ADVICE about things like "carbon tax," because that will cause a lot of damage. With some things, you just have to make up your mind and say, "I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to let people pressure me into doing the wrong thing."

Global "Lukewarming&quot

Global "Lukewarming" ... it's all about a pack of antichrists that have created a false doctrine based on science falsely so called.

The Bible puts the floodlight of the truth on these yayhoos from at least a hundred different angles ...

1 Timothy 6:20-21

(20) O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and OPPOSITIONS OF SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED :

(21) Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Ephesians 4:14

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and CARRIED ABOUT WITH EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE, BY THE SLEIGHT OF MEN, and cunning craftiness, WHEREBY THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE;

Matthew 15:9

But in vain they do worship me, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN.

Colossians 2:20-22

(20) Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments [false standards] of the world, WHY, as though living in the world, ARE YE SUBJECT TO ORDINANCES [mischief framed in unjust laws],

(21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

(22) Which all are to perish with the using;) AFTER THE COMMANDMENTS AND DOCTRINES OF MEN?

Psalms 94:20

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, WHICH FRAMETH MISCHIEF BY A LAW?

1 Timothy 4:1-2

(1) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, GIVING HEED TO SEDUCING SPIRITS, AND DOCTRINES OF DEVILS;

(2) SPEAKING LIES IN HYPOCRISY; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Titus 1:10-11

(10) FOR THERE ARE MANY UNRULY AND VAIN TALKERS AND DECEIVERS, especially they of the circumcision:

(11) WHOSE MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

This seems like a good time

This seems like a good time to insert a historical factoid. Before he was killed, Kennedy had planned to travel the country stumping for re-election using the same campaign-plane as Barry Goldwater, his opponent. Even if, as later happened, Goldwater had lost, this sharing of ideas would have greatly benefitted America, had the campaigns' ideas mixed...The fact that both men were unknowingly pioneers against pollution seems, in hindsight, relatively unimportant. What stands out is their refreshing courage in even considering such an idea. It's sad that Goldwater's intellect and ideas are so-ignored today in favor of the "Ted Haggard wing" of the Republican party, but such ignorance has finally reaped the predictable electoral results it so-carefully sowed.

They would be putting "all th

They would be putting "all their eggs in one basket" if they traveled together. An unforseen "accident" would leave the moonbats leaderless, and we would have to then deal with "the bore" and "skerry", which would make for an amusing campaign season.

"I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president."
-Hillary Clinton commenting on the release of subpoenaed documents

Don't you think Kennedy &am

Don't you think Kennedy & Goldwater, in an age when planes weren't as safe as now (but even then, airplanes were pretty-safe) thought of that? Maybe they decided the good of the country & the simple logic of the idea (since they knew eachother already as fellow-Senators) trumped any risk posed by flying together. I think it's likely. Also, please consider, back in the relatively-unlawyered early '60s, people were less likely to view life as something that should be a risk-free proposition...

Next time you find yourself i

Next time you find yourself in a debate with a global warming believer, might I suggest starting the debate by stating, "I don't believe in anthropogenic global warming." Then pause while that person goes to look anthropogenic up in the dictionary, trying to figure out what you just said.
