Proving once again how badly the left suffers from BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome), Comedy Central is launching a new animated show lampooning George W. Bush and all surrounding him that was originally broadcast through cell phone networks.
Included in the cartoon attacks will be Vice President Cheney, Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice and a brother JEB who is "dumb as paint".
Lil’Bush Makes the Big Time on Small Screen
In what may be a TV first, Comedy Central’s new series Lil’ Bush (which premieres in June) comes to TV by way of mobile devices such as web-enabled cell phones. The property began as mobisodes seen on 2” mobile screens.
While the technology is interesting and it is also historic that a show migrated to TV after originally being debuted over a cell phone network, they just can't resist it to be an attack on the man they love to hate.
The show follows the misadventures of Lil' George Bush and his precocious pals Lil' Condi, Lil' Rummy and the unintelligible, foul-mouthed wisecracker Lil' Cheney. They're like the Lil' Rascals except they access to weapons of mass destruction. And instead of getting into mischief and learning stuff from other kids in the neighborhood, the little people in Lil’ Bush square off with rivals such as Lil' Kim Jong-Il and Lil' John Kerry. As with the venerable series The Simpsons, this one features celebrity guest voices while pushing the social satire envelope.
Notice how they never want to "push the social satire envelope" by using a liberal icon as a platform to make fun of Americans.
Each week the show follows the Lil' gang (along with irascible dad George Sr., sweetly sinister Bar, and dumb as paint Jeb) as they get mixed up in all sorts of crazy adventures from taking a field trip to Iraq to just taking crank. This show will probably not end up on any top ten list of the Republican National Committee—unless it’s an enemies list.
Yes, Bush derangement Syndrome is epidemic.
My guess is this "show" will fail. But it will endear Comedy Central to the left and that, in the end, is probably the main goal.

Cheers was the last good comedy show for me that I always looked forward to and hated if I missed, something we would all talk about at work the next day when we had a break.
I also liked the tv sitcoms based on good movies
April 20, 2007 - 21:55 ET by Carl KolchakAnyone remember back in the 70's when a good movie would come out and they would make a great tv sitcom soon after? Anyone remember that great tv sitcom based on "The Bad News Bears"? That was really funny and lasted a long time. They also did a very successful "Animal House" tv sitcom that I think won lots of Emmy's.
I also really enjoyed the long lasting "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" tv sitcom that come out soon after the movie.

I still love the HoneyMooners, I Love Lucy, Sanford and Son, The Jefferson's, Andy Griffith as long as Barney is in it...All in the Family, Golden Girls, Leave it to Beaver, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley at times...a lot I am sure I am leaving out...
Too bad they never made a tv sitcom with Charles Bronson
April 20, 2007 - 22:17 ET by Carl KolchakToo bad the stuck up left wing Hollywood crowd never wrote a tv sitcom with Charles Bronson as the lead role. Now that would have been a classic tv sitcom! Ted Koppel wishes he could be as funny as Charles Bronson, but he can't.

I am laughing like crazy that you all are so blatantly ignoring Carl Kolchak and his TV show comments.
I am also laughing that a guy pretending he knows what good and successful TV is has named himself after a cheesy and FAILED TV show!!!!!!
I LOVE this place.
Warner, I know what you mean
April 21, 2007 - 08:38 ET by Carl KolchakYeah, I know that ABC "Nightstalker" was cheesy. I still don't know what ABC was thinking. They didn't seem to grasp the concept of the original and didn't want to make it like the original with Darren McGavin. I don't have anything against the other guy who played in the remake though.
I also liked "Webster" a lot and didn't think it was a take off of "Different Strokes" and I also liked the Flip Wilson sitcom that soon came out after "The Cosby Show" and didn't think that was trying to be a take off either.
PS Warner, how about all those successful McLean Stephenson shows after he left "MASH"? Now that was great comedy.

April 21, 2007 - 08:48 ET by Carl KolchakI heard that Darren McGavin wasn't too heartbroken when they cancelled the original series. I thought he and Simon Oakland were awesome. There was one episode that was with Erik Estrada that was too cheesy, and I really can't watch the rerun of that one because it is too cheesy, but all of the rest I think are great.
If you ever see the tv orignal movie Claude Atkins is in it and he is always getting mad at Kolchak. It is great! Claude Atkins from "Sheriff Lobo" should have won many Emmys.
PS I have to go, because PBS is showing a comedy marathon today, and we all know PBS has the finest comedy shows of all time.

April 21, 2007 - 09:02 ET by Carl KolchakWas Atkins funny on that episode? I thought "Sheriff Lobo" was awesome.
In all seriousness though, you look at old shows like "I love Lucy" or "Andy Griffith" and 40+years later you can still see reruns of those shows, and they didn't have to cuss or be controversial to be funny.

April 20, 2007 - 21:41 ET by Carl KolchakFree Stinker, I know what you mean. I wish they would do a remake of "Joanie Loves Chachi" with new characters. If that isn't the funniest tv sitcom of all time; I don't know what is.

April 21, 2007 - 05:02 ET by motherbeltOh, good grief! That'smy first thought about that!
However, I will say that political comedy is no longer funny; at least not from the left. Their vicious hatred of the Bush administration and all things conservative make everything come off as pure vitriol. It is just a way to vent their venom and then say "hey, lighten up, it's all in fun!" But let anyone start cracking jokes about the prom king/queen (Hey, maybe he/she could be both!) and the pc police are out with their verbal riot guns to shut things down with "That's not funny!!!"

about a Presidency where there is a hen-pecked President who has two sides; one where he lies daily to the people, and the other where he kisses up to the battle-ax he is married to? The battle-ax could be shown as trying to run major legislative efforts and show how Congress responds to her braying.
They could then throw in some infidelity where he gets it off with interns as well as almost any woman he gets close to. I'll bet that could be a Nielsen 30 show!
