New Black Panther Party Leader Calls Michelle Malkin a ‘Political Prostitute’

In the midst of the Don Imus/Rutgers women’s basketball team controversy, one would think that calling a woman a prostitute, or any similar epithet on the air, would be so inexcusable that it would meet with extraordinary media outrage.

After all, if you did a Google news search of the name Don Imus, it would generate almost 15,000 stories about the controversial radio host. The phrase "Nappy-headed hos" garnered almost 10,000 results.

Yet, when the New Black Panther Party leader Malik Shabazz called Fox News contributor Michelle Malkin a “political prostitute” on Thursday’s “O’Reilly Factor,” the media largely ignored the event. In fact, a Google news search of his name identified that only one major media outlet reported this outrageous comment, albeit at the USA Today Online Politics blog.

Regardless of the double standard, here is the disgraceful segment of this interview which coincidentally occurred within hours of Imus being fired by CBS Radio for his comments (video available here, h/t Hot Air):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

MALKIN: And, last May, one of your members said to Reade Seligmann, one of the Duke lacrosse players -- quote -- that he was a "dead man walking."

You're not going to apologize for that?

SHABAZZ: First of all, I can't confirm that's true.

Will you apologize for being a political prostitute for Bill O'Reilly, a white male chauvinist racist, as a woman of color?

MALKIN: You're calling -- you want to call me a whore on national TV?

SHABAZZ: A political -- yes, a political...

MALKIN: There's only one whore on this split-screen, and it's you, Mr. Shabazz.

SHABAZZ: As a woman of color, you should be ashamed for being a mouthpiece...

MALKIN: You should be ashamed of yourself...

SHABAZZ: ... for a male chauvinist racist Bill O'Reilly.

MALKIN: ... for profiting off of your racial poison.

SHABAZZ: You should be ashamed of yourself for defending and being a spokesman for Bill O'Reilly...

Amazing. Now, remember that this happened at virtually the same time CBS Radio was firing Imus. And this wasn’t newsworthy given the extraordinary media attention given to the Rutgers controversy? Why?

For the record, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann did report this on Friday's "Countdown" giving Shabazz the silver medal in his "Worst Person in the World" segment (video available here). Unfortunately, and quite deliciously, as reported by Hot Air, the screen capture Olbermann presented as Shabazz was actually talk show host Opio Sokoni. How spectacular.

What follows is a full transcript of this segment.

MICHELLE MALKIN FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR, “O’REILLY FACTOR” GUEST HOST: In the "Factor Follow-Up" segment tonight: As you may know, the attorney general of North Carolina has dropped all charges against three Duke lacrosse players who were accused of rape, sexual assault, and kidnapping last spring.

When that happened, the New Black Panther Party descended on the Duke campus, demanding justice.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MALIK SHABAZZ, NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY LEADER: We will be here from gavel to gavel, to when the final jury verdict is read. And we demand and are pursuing that this jury verdict come back guilty against the accused.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Guilty.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Guilty.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That's right. That's right.

SHABAZZ: It should come back what?

UNIDENTIFIED MALES AND FEMALES: Guilty.

SHABAZZ: It should come back what?

UNIDENTIFIED MALES AND FEMALES: Guilty.

SHABAZZ: How do you find the two defendants -- the three defendants in this case?

UNIDENTIFIED MALES AND FEMALES: Guilty.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MALKIN: When the case started to fall apart, Malik Shabazz, the general counsel of the Panthers, entered the no-spin zone.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SHABAZZ: I never said they were guilty of rape. I said they were guilty. And I still stand -- say that this case is a strong case for sexual assault, kidnapping, charges that can and probably will lead these young men -- leave these young men behind prison walls.

(CROSSTALK)

BILL O'REILLY, HOST: And, if the case is dropped, will that indicate to you that society is racist?

SHABAZZ: It will prove to me that Mike Nifong doesn't know what he is doing.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MALKIN: Mr. Shabazz joins us from Washington.

Good evening.

What do you have to say for yourself now, Mr. Shabazz?

SHABAZZ: I have to say that I am disappointed in the terrible performance of Mike Nifong, that the victim, who -- Kim, the accuser in this case, is a real victim here.

And I still believe that something criminally went wrong in that house, and this case was botched by prosecutors in this case. So, I will not apologize. And I will not apologize in my defense of black women, who have been raped and abused by white men. Over 1,600,000 black women have been sexually assaulted and raped by white men since we came here on slave ships. None of them have been prosecuted.

I will not apologize for defending black women.

MALKIN: You are not going to apologize to the Duke lacrosse team that you smeared, that you convicted? Didn't you hear the North Carolina attorney general's statement? Didn't you hear that they had said...

SHABAZZ: Didn't I hear...

MALKIN: ... that they're -- the evidence is that there was no attack? What exactly...

(CROSSTALK)

SHABAZZ: I didn't hear that. I didn't hear that.

I am a criminal defense attorney. Many clients that I have had, the cases have been dropped against them. But I can't say that nothing went wrong. What I hear is political pressure, that a powerful white university, with powerful rich white defendants against a poor black woman, the case has been thrown out.

But Nifong didn't interview the witness and charge the case properly. Nifong...

MALKIN: Nifong.

SHABAZZ: ... didn't give exculpatory evidence to the defense. It is Nifong who botched this case.

MALKIN: Nifong.

SHABAZZ: And all women who will bring sexual assault charges in the future are adversely affected by this. So, the accuser is a victim here as well.

No, I do not apologize. Duke University has said that this lacrosse team has been engaging in rowdy, drunken and lewd behavior. And several of these defendants who were let off yesterday have already been convicted of criminal charges of other natures. So, no, I do not apologize.

MALKIN: Mr. Shabazz, you -- Mr. Shabazz, you and your so-called party -- How many members do you have, 15? -- have made a career out of stoking racial demagoguery.

SHABAZZ: Let me say this. Let me say this. I would much rather be a member...

MALKIN: Can I ask a question first, sir?

SHABAZZ: Go right ahead.

MALKIN: You still supporting O.J.?

SHABAZZ: ... who has no respect for women.

MALKIN: You still supporting O.J. Simpson, Mr. Shabazz?

SHABAZZ: Do you support -- do you support the acquittal?

MALKIN: Are you?

SHABAZZ: Do you -- do you stand by, or does Bill O'Reilly apologize when a jury verdict...

MALKIN: Do you want to say of your anti-Semitic propaganda that you have made your whole career off?

SHABAZZ: What is your point? What is your point, ma'am?

MALKIN: What is your point? Is that you're calling me a political prostitute, when that's your whole entire life.

SHABAZZ: For Bill O'Reilly.

MALKIN: And you will not apologize to these young men who have been exonerated?

When was the last time you talked to the accuser in this case?

SHABAZZ: I have -- that's between me and that family.

MALKIN: Uh-huh.

SHABAZZ: But there are sources in the district attorney's...

MALKIN: Are you still providing security and protection for this woman...

SHABAZZ: Well...

MALKIN: ... for this woman who has been completely debunked and exposed?

SHABAZZ: No, this -- this woman is a victim. And, like many other women who will now be in fear -- and you should sympathize with them who are afraid to go forth with serious charges because of prosecutors like Nifong -- Nifong, whatever it is -- who do not know what they're doing.

MALKIN: You have done treacherous harm, not only to your own community, Mr. Shabazz...

SHABAZZ: She is a victim.

MALKIN: ... but to every true and bona fide rape victim in this country.

SHABAZZ: I am a defender of women, of black women. And I will not apologize, until white America does justice for the many black women who have been raped by slave traders.

MALKIN: No. It's clear you will not apologize.

SHABAZZ: And you should apologize for being a mouthpiece for a white male chauvinist racist like Bill O'Reilly.

MALKIN: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Goodbye.

SHABAZZ: Thank you.

Great Job, Michelle!! Michelle is so adept here that I can see Shabazz's head spinning on the still photo above!

Grow up Shabazz. It's your kind of hatred that goofy "hate-crime laws" ought to silence!!

Never use your gun to pistol-wip a Liberal. That could mar the finish.

Stranger than truth departmen

Stranger than truth department: not only will you get nearly 15,000 hits when you do a Google News search for Don Imus, but try doing a news search on legendary Hawaiian singer Don Ho, who died Saturday.

Since Google's search engine is also searching for news stories about "Don" (as in Imus) and "Ho" (as in Imus), the two Dons are now forever joined at the hip.

Mr. Hawaii actually used to joke in his act (and this joke dated back to the 1960s) that he'd like to run for President and change the name of the White House to the Ho House. Everybody laughed.

Did not realize that. Pretty

Did not realize that. Pretty sad timing.

Maybe Imus would've been let

Maybe Imus would've been let off easier had he referred to the basketball team as "nappy-headed Don Ho's".

This is why racism still exists

Because scum like Shabazz will not let it die. They are making their living off of it and need to perpetuate it. Even in "cases" where it is not a factor, they will interject it at their first opportunity.

"SHABAZZ: I am a defender of women, of black women. And I will not

The sins of the great-great-great granfather have nothing to do with anyone alive today.

I call for his head for the same reason that Don Imus was fired. He is a bigot and using racial slurs on national TV. He proposes the concept of guilt by racial association which is just about the definition of racism.

I wonder... what does he say to the many slave traders who were black?

he's not just a racist

Not only is Shabazz racist through & through, he's a hypocrite of unbelievable nerve. Saying: ---I am a defender of women, of black women. And I will not
apologize, until white America does justice for the many black women
who have been raped by slave traders. --And a Black Muslim at the same time:

A religion that demeans women. Every day a Muslim gives thanks to Allah because he was NOT born female, the mere slave of her father, brothers and husband. They are routinely slashed in the genitals in Islamic countries; have acid splashed in their faces, get treated like whores if by misfortune one of their countrymen rapes them; and till BUSH sent help, weren't even allowed to read and write;

Here in America we see them cloaked and apparently content. But they aren't free at all. Their child never belongs to them; only to the husbands. And this hypocrite is so low he can spit venom at an American woman on national TV;

The SOB just ought to be in jail. Or somehow thrown under a bus by --an irate WOMAN. That is what he deserves.

In the mid 1990's there was an outcry to help the oppressed women of the middle east, (expecially Afghanistan) but since Clinton turned his back to it, so did the left. Revenge politics

Revenge politics is what it's all about. He calls for a guilty verdict no matter what, presumably for justice, but really it's a call for "reparations" for all the falsely imprisoned. He goes beyond standard case by case justice and wants some payback justice.

Watching the other clips I found was funny. He has a band of 15 or so outside the Dutch Embassy - the opposing "crowd" was larger. He was wearing some strange muslim hip colored looking pants, and at one point said if only the police and cameras weren't there it would be on.

Ahh, whatever, not much there. Do a gang and then a terrorism linkage check, that's about it.

Being Black and openly racist

Being Black and openly racist gets you airtime.
I always turn the channel when Shabazz,Charles Barron,Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton come on.
If the future I will e-mail any show that has these racists on and explain that if I hear one of these men are coming up on the next segment I change the channel on don't tune back.

Nick,I know these people are

Nick,

I know these people are vile in the extreme.

But don't you think there's value in having them expose themselves and their disgusting views in such a well-watched forum as O'Reilly, etc.?

And that the follow-on discussion of their extreme and prejudiced views further marginalizes them?

Something to think about...

Hard question. We do need to

Hard question.
We do need to hear Black voices that don't blame whitey or shakedown corporations.
We need to hear Blacks voices that say it is time to stop blaming others.
These racist play the same tune every time they get airtime.
Don't you think Sharpton and Jackson have become relevant again. If fact you could argue they have never been more powerful. Aren't there corporation mailing checks out to these two as we speak????

The culture war and the real war

The culture war and the real war:

Tough line to cut, because as the shakedown artists are invited on, a complaint goes out for " terrorist propaganda" that makes its way to the airwaves, here or over there.

So if you shame one form of propaganda, and claim the war is the reason, how does the claimed effect the propaganda has differ in the case of the domestic race wars type ?

The argument : Here it is opposed on air in the case of race propaganda, and here and there the terrorist propaganda is not ?

It's not exactly coherent. One sin is less than another seems to be correct.

huh...lol

huh...lol

I assume you think nick

I assume you think nick, perhaps I shouldn't have. I'll be more specific so you have an easier time catching on.

The question is wether or not these shakedown race artists should be given airtime to foist their game, does it expose them as charlatans and hurt their cause ?

Obviously they are given airtime, especially on FoxNews, is that wrong, or is it ok ?

I contrasted that question with a similar question - what about airtime for persons who inadvertently or otherwise wind up giving the enemy propaganda for their airwaves, or even ours given global media exchange ?

My answer was - it is wrong to feed the enemy with propaganda they desire for their side, and it is wrong to feed the domestic culture war enemy with the propaganda they desire.

I made note that the terrorist war propaganda type may be percieved to go unopposed overseas, and therefore may be extremely dangerous and should be stoppedmore forcefully not only because of obvious war concerns but because of no contrasting viewpoint offered, while furthering the argument that the domestic race war shakedown is generally opposed on air (or exposed as foolish, pointed out prior to your initial comment).

Since both types of propaganda are combatted on air here, I concluded the real answer is neither is excusable, and one is merely a lesser sin than the other.

I hope that did it for you.

black voices

Black voices    Cosby, Sowell, Pitts, just to name a few. There are a good number of  good guys around.Unfortunately they don't try to rhyme and spend lots of time for doin' a crime. Sorry, that just slipped out. I mean that kids (any color) get bored pretty quick with hearing "good" messages. It's true--I used to be a kid in Christian school and after the first ten minutes of nice--I got bored. Sooo, what can anyone do to help get the message of good, decent black men and women to the kids???  There's a challenge for us NBers.

If you hear that you are infe

If you hear that you are inferior or can blame all your problems on whitey, why would you ever try to excel?

Why is it that non American Blacks come here and prosper?
Even a real African child right out of the jungle can come here, learn the language (NOT ebonics!)and be at the top of his/her class in school.
I've seen it happen numerous times.

nicksmith

nicksmith  you are on point. A real enigma is--how do you stop our young folks, black teeners in particular , from being brain washed with the music and lyrics they hear. Any attempt is either, validly, a violation of the first amendment, (as defined by recent SCOTUS decisions), or invalidly stated so by hate merchants like Sharpton etal.

It is a very serious problem and I do not see easy solutions. Parents' right have been drastically  reduced, as  have teachers and police. The young folks will instantly cite some law that restricts adult powers. I worked in a school district for 6 1/2 years and I saw it almost every day. While I feel the negative results affect all our kids, the young black kids suffer the most from it. Again, I have no solutions without the laws levied on us by the SCOTUS and ACLU efforts being reversed. A police man should be able to arrest someone who sticks his face into the policeman's and tells him to go (fill in your own choice of vulgarity). My peers are in the mid 60s to mid 70s. We had the utmost respect for authority. Our parents supported the school authorities and the police. I submit, that if today's youth thought they could be locked up for those type of offenses, the offenses would quickly disappear.

Even more to the point, if

Even more to the point, if you hear all your childhood, as many blacks do not only from their peers but from their own parents, that being successful in the "white man's schools/jobs" makes you a traitor to your race, or makes you "too white" (never mind that many blacks won't associate with blacks whose skin is really dark because they are "too black") you would do your damnedest NOT to succeed.

Couldn't say where I read it,

Couldn't say where I read it, but somewhwere out there is a great article equating the rap-culture to the loss of ambition. If all you want is to ride with spinners, rumble the streets with your two 12 inch subs, emulate the porno that's playing on your dashboard dvd and smoke skunk weed, then you don't really have far to go to achieve your desire.

Rap has conveyed more detriment to the psyche of the young black man than Don Imus and the KKK put together. Subversion from within grows deeper than any other way to the human heart. Sha-bozo is a victim of his own bleeding heart as such.

There was a "Divorce Court" case a few months ago, where the wife was sick of not having a place to live and not having enough money to feed them properly, and husband's entire defense was to repeatedly remind the court that they had their pimped-out Cadillac Escalade.

Here's an interesting article from over a year ago demonstrating the flippant disregard for decency thrown Michelle Malkin's way (promoting "Unhinged: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild). Notice that she had already been labeled a "Republican prostitute" at that time. They--the liberal whores (I mean, hordes) of darkness--have very little redeeming value and an apparently supernatural knack for regurgitating hate.

Nick,I know it's a question t

Nick,

I know it's a question that needs to be thoroughly examined.

While it makes me sick that Imus' stupid comments have given Sharpton and Jackson time at the microphone, I think it behooves us as conservatives to not act as the liberals do:

1)  Allow them to freely express themselves, in all of their hypocricy and stupidity.  Then we pounce on them....and show them for what they are.  Beat that drum, loud and often.

2)  Encourage the more sensible to lead the debate.  Bill Cosby, or Jason Whitlock come to mind as leaders of the debate on racism from the black point of view.

3)  Advocate for free speech.  I think it would be terrible to retaliate against ROD because of the Imus situation.  Let her own stupidity take her down.  Having said that, we should pressure her corporate sponsors.  Let the market deal with that side of it.

4)  Refocus the debate.  The Imus comments were a tempest in a teapot (there, Jack, I finally used it).  Instead of allowing Jackson and Sharpton to blather on, we need to refocus the debate on the double standard.

5)  As for the corporations supporting Jackson and Sharpton, we as consumers can bring to bear an equal and opposite pressure on these corporations.  They will listen.

Finally, I think SportsPolitics makes a cogent point as to the Culture War.  We've done a poor job fighting it, as conservatives.  We need to get smart, and fast, rather than dumb down to the liberal level of the fight.

PC be damned!

So 1,600,000 black women have

So 1,600,000 black women have been sexually assaulted and raped from the moment they arrived off of the slave ships. How did you come up with this number? Did Major Owens come up with that number? You remember him; he is the one that said 100 million slaves were thrown over board on the way to America. So many that the sharks “still” follow the route that the ships sailed still looking for the bodies. A number that works out to 1800 slaves pitched over board every day for about 300 years. Does no one question these people on anything? How about that Million Man march? How about how Jesse Jackson said 1,000,000 blacks were kept from voting in the 2000 election? In the year 2000 there were about 35.7 million blacks. Unfortunately they don't break out the black population by age, but the overall population breaks out like this: Age 18-24 39.9%. Age 45-64 22%. Age 65 and over 12%. So if we use these numbers the overall voting age population is 73.9%. 73.9% of 35.7 million comes out to 26.3 million. When you consider that half the population doesn't even bother to vote in the first place and I'm sure that apathy exists among blacks, but let's just say the apathy only affects 25%, that gives us 19.7 million blacks who want to vote. Jesse is stating that 1 out of every 20 black people in this country were denied the right to vote.
So much BS and so little time.

Reverse racism, reverse sexism

If the Duke case proves anything, it's that blacks need to confront the racism in their own ranks, and feminists need to confront hatred of males if they want to be taken seriously. Nifong appealed to the predominently black voters in his district by going after "privileged white frat boys", who apparently were ready to assume the worst. And radical feminists seem to believe anyone accused of rape is guilty until proven innocent. Neither of these groups has any more right to complain about white males until they start cleaning up their own houses.

As an aside, if you didn't see the video and you just read the transcript, where Malkin is repeating Nifong to Shabazz, he kept pronouncing it Neefong...and he kept doing it, it was enough to drive anyone up the wall.

I also caught Ubermann's little segment too, he is a disgraceful little leftist twerp, sure isn't sad one little bit about Imus, where there was never any love lost between them anyway IMO....in fact as I also posted before Ubermann is down-right giddy about it all.

She is a victim of black racist anti white propaganda.  She is a victim of men like Shabazz, Sharpton, and Jackson who want to keep her down, who want to keep her a victim, so they can get more money and airtime.  She is also Guilty of doing to these lacross players what Mr. Shabazz, Jackson, and Sharpton say is a crime to do to black men.  If she were a white crack whore, and they were black basketball players, she would probably be dead.  It is a shame she allowed their propaganda to ruin her life.  She needs to appologize to these young men, go to a Spirit-filled Christian Church, and get her life back together.  Once she does that, she needs to travel to black schools across the country and speak out about what the racist white hating "whitey got me down" propaganda did to her life.   The hand of God will be against her until she makes this right.
