'Daily Show' Mocks the 'Goreacle'

UPDATE with video at bottom of post.

Conservatives aren't the only ones having trouble taking Gore seriously, even liberal Jon Stewart mocks him.

After Al Gore told Congress about the planet's fever and explained that when a baby has a fever you take the child to the doctor, Stewart asked if this metaphor could be carried too far:

"If the crib's on fire you don't speculate that the baby is flame retardant," continued Gore.

"So ignoring Gore's powerful message is like leaving a baby on fire. It's kind of a tough image to counter Missouri's Kit Bond -- whaddya got?" Stewart asked.

Bond showed a picture of a little girl from a family that can't afford heating so the girl must wear her coat when she's inside the house. The senator asked Gore if higher heating bills as the result of carbon caps would force the little girl to wear two coats inside?

And like a Comedy Central Solomon, Stewart had the solution: "Let the cold child, room with the flaming baby. Then, they can just leave us alone!"

Global Warming: The first fashion(able) fad of the new century!

Green-chic clothing and other goods are already being marketed to those driven into shame by Green missionaries.

"Will we have future springs to celebrate green?"

There's a big write up today about "enviromental green" in Connecticut's liberal rag, the Hartford Courant.  It includes this line:

"There is no question that green is both the color and the message of the environment", says Bette Kahn, a PR representative for Crate and Barrel.   "Right now, it's all about the environment, but in past seasons, and  (here it comes!) hopefully in future seasons it will just be the color of Spring."

A fever is caused by an infection.  If the Earth has a fever, maybe it's due to the infection spread by the dreaded Algoria virus.  Fortunately this infection can be cured with a simple application of knowledge and common sense.

"I believe it is appropriate to have an overrepresentation of factual presentations on how dangerous it (Global Warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience." - Al Gore (Wash. Times article May 2006)

And it's that fairly recent Gore quote that the MSM either fails to comprehend or deliberately ignores, in its worship of Gore.  The man rationalizes lying to scare the public, and no one in the MSM has the integrity to call him out on it.  For so many thousands of editors and reporters to ignore it merely confirms the agenda and single-mindedness of the MSM..

Green movement is really "green with envy"

I think that most people who support the environmentalist movement are those who are jealous of people who have more than them.  If you drive a big SUV, environmentalists have a club to register their jealousy.  "You shouldn't drive it because you are able to afford to buy more gas than I am."

tpmintx....

tpmintx...it may seem too simple for a lot of people but in truth I bet a great percentage of those enviro-fascists have envy as their motive.

But that reminds me...if any of you Hippie Liberal Volvo-Driving Douche Bag (That You South Park) Enviro-Fascists plan on purchasing a PRIUS anytime soon, please P.M. me so I can add it to the NOTCHES on my Hummer.

On the back of my Hummer I have a little sticker that says....Only 8 More Hybrids Purchased by Enviro-Fascists and I Can Buy ANOTHER HUMMER!  (Right...by now some of you Hippie Liberal Volvo-Driving Douche Bag Enivor-Fascists are saying to yourselves, "I bet he doesn't really drive a Hummer" and you're right you douche bag, it's called SARCASM...you idiots!)

Shut up and blog! If you claim to be a conservative, please don't disgrace yourself and conservatism by thinking and arguing like a liberal. Go Rudy!

I saw this one (my TiVo records the Daily Show every once in awhile because it seems to think I like news and politics for some reason). It was refreshing to see Jon Stewart mock the left for a change. He used to do it all the time, back in the day. I liked the Daily Show back then. They slipped gradually further and further to the left, though, and I found I couldn't stand to watch it anymore without getting angry. It's a shame, because I honestly feel Stewart and his writers are among the best comedy writers out there right now. If they could even make a modest attempt at balance, I'm sure they'd increase an already large audience quite a bit.

I noticed the same thing ab

I noticed the same thing about the Daily Show. Jon and his writers will eventually have to conclude that of these wacky liberals are more funny (unintentially) than the cons. I hope he goes back picking on both sides.

Breaking News: scientists look for ways to make babies flame retardant. lol

I'm thinking the Daily Show people might actually move back towards the middle now--that is, ruthlessly making fun of both sides whenever they deserve it. I think this because the Republicans are not in complete power, and the DS writers like to make the most fun of those who have the most power. So now there's some of each to attack. Plus, libs seem to feel less threatened now that the Democratic Congress can balance the Bush administration in some way, so they're more comfortable spreading the bashing out some more. I think they'll still lean heavily left because they're libs and they can't help it. But I can take well-targeted jokes about the right if there are a few about the left as well to balance them out. It's disingenuous and makes me angry if they act like all the political stupidity is concentrated on the right. There's definitely enough political stupidity on both sides to make fun of them both!

I definitely think that dems

I definitely think that dems will be the target more often because they're in power in congress, and even more so if dems win the presidency.

Stewart:  "Could you take that metaphor too far?"

Just watched the clip.  By the way, I know it's not deliberate on his part.  But Gore still hasn't lost that explaining-things-to-a-second-grader manner of speaking, has he?

Gore made it too easy for Stewart.  Gore wasn't content to just make the case; he had to exaggerate.   (Somehow, it's okay to exaggerate if the goal is to "make a point" to "save the world".)

I believe the term "pomp

I believe the term "pompous A$$" is a fitting description for Algore!  What brass!
