Admin note: There was a corruption in some of our data tables over the weekend which should no longer be present. For the technically inclined, I've migrated them from MyISAM to InnoDB which has more robust data management features. The move should also make making a comment go quicker, too.
As for our planned upgrade, I am working with someone to migrate us to version 4.7 of our software Drupal. When this is completed, we are going to shortly thereafter switch hosting companies.
However, all this moving is going to be expensive as is the new hardware and being released from our contract. If you could help MRC and NB with a donation, we'd all appreciate it greatly. There are some big things coming in the next few weeks and months and it will be nice when these tech issues are out of the way so stay tuned.
Feel free to use this node as an open thread.

The above may be expensive going in, but it sure beats your web site going down every other day. May save some on the embarrassment factor as well.
I work for a top bank and we use the above combination in several of our distributed application areas and they just don't fail. The only time the web sites were taken down last year was when we replaced the firewalls and Internet facing routers to accomodate more bandwidth. That down time was planned, early morning on a weekend, and well publicized in advanced to our customers.

February 12, 2007 - 15:11 ET by Roger the ShrubberAnd now, a Shrub Report® Addendum:
I was checking out to see how the Hufftards would weave the 100+ inches of snow in upstate NY into their whole "Global Warming" mythology, and came across this gem of a comment:
Everyone who lives near the great lakes knows that the longer the lakes stay open (ice-free) the more lake effect snow you are going to get. Ergo, the warmer the water and air, the longer it takes to freeze over.
Since, I too, live in the Northeast, not far from the Great Lakes, I thought that sounded strange, so, I went to Wikipedia, a source no Liberal can possibly debunk, and saw this:
"Lake Erie has the distinction of being the only great lake to completely freeze during the winter as a result of being very shallow, although this does not happen every winter. Once frozen, the resulting ice cover temporarily alleviates lake effect snow from originating there."
Apparently many Liberals rationalize that any "cold weather" event is a by-product of their deity, Global Warming. Global Warming explains everything, just like Karl Rove has been a convenient excuse for everything bad to happen to "Progressives" in the past 6 years. It is the "Boogeyman du jour", allowing the Left to be victim to yet another by-product of evil Capitalism.
These Hufftards are making it rather easy for me to illustrate the First Rule of Liberalism in action:
Accuse the Right of doing exactly what the Left is doing.
Look at some of the posts the Hufftards have left, and you will see the irrational lashing out at religion (Christians in particular), as if only the religious (ie: Christians) do not buy into the "clown god", Global Warming. Yet, it is the Hufftards who are merely lashing out at anybody who dares not agree with their religion. They claim the Right are religious nuts for not believing GW, but the Left are the actual religious nuts FOR believing GW.

Amazing Grace - the movie
February 12, 2007 - 16:28 ET by Eric TurnerHey, don't know if anyone knows, or cares, but this is like the 200th anniversary of the writing of or the death of or something of the writer of the song "Amazing Grace" The movie starts the end of the month. Looks promising. Stars Ioan Gruffudd who was in Fantastic Four and the Horatio Hornblower series on A&E. Great actor in my opinion. This obviously has some aspects of religion and faith and Christianity. Don't know how accurate it is. Of course, the distribution company is trying to push this through the churches - which I can't stand. But the only way to get better movies in the theater (read: family oriented) is to go see the ones that are family oriented.

Noone has said anything yet, but for instance, I broke half my keyboard spacekey about 1 week ago(there's 2 springie things under there, the right one broke so only the left side of spacebar works). A lot of my posts failed having proper spaces between words, because mrlazy here got sick real quickly of editing every one every time, and also has foregone putting one of the spare keyboards on. Earlier Monday, Marcotte wrote on her personal Web site, "The Christian version of the virgin birth is generally interpreted as super-patriarchal, where ... women are nothing but vessels."
Good thing she's able to understand and explain the difference between "satirical writing"
And of course, Yahoo's headline is defensive of her in their own headline to the story - "Targeted blogger quits Edwards Campaign." Targeted? She shouldn't have ever been in the campaign! She is just what the Catholics are calling her - a "foul-mouthed bigot."
