As eager as they are to promote liberal politicians over conservative ones, the MSM is even more eager to promote the careers of black political figures who happen to be liberal. Black conservatives like Michael Steele or Condoleezza Rice could instantly get 400% better press simply by putting a "D" next to their names.
The last time such media fatuousness was on display was during the presidential campaigns of Jesse Jackson who received press coverage good enough as if he had owned the papers who fawned over him. The emergence of Barack Obama as a Democratic presidential candidate has sent the same MSM into a tizzy as media outlets rush to shower him with praises. This latest journalistic pack-patronizing is especially odd since Obama has basically no political record and very little in the way of accomplishments.
One does not have to be of the conservative bent to notice that the press has gone off the deep end here. Timothy Noah, a liberal writer who works at the left-leaning Slate ezine, has started a series called "The Obama Messiah Watch" highlighting ridiculous media coverage of Illinois's junior senator. The Republicans had Alan Keys Running against Obama so they cancel each other out. Who else have the Dems had?
Alan Keys is colorful - but the press was merciless with him and wouldn't even question Obama on his record. Obama is just as radical left as Keys is right but because Obama was soft spoken and cute and liberal - they ignored the issues.

As far as Steele goes, he claimed to be a Dem on his own. He went a s far as having Democrat Steele flyers printed up. He just did not have policies that blacks went for in the Maryland election.
Rice, as far as I know, has not run for any office. She secrtary of state, as was Colin Powell. And she has been mentioned favorable in all press relaseas I have seen. She has done as good and as poorly as her predicessors (Powell and Albright) so I do she beeing slammed, except by known partison pudits.

A nominee is a nominee and what ever issues they bring up should be addressed. Alan Keys tried to talk about Obamas record and they shut him down.
And it's nice that you bring up Ryan. He was an excellent candidate who won a much tougher primary than Obama. The press was afraid of Ryan because despite his wealth,connections and education, he chose to teach in an inner city African American school and they loved him. He donated a lot of money to the school and the students liked him as a teacher. The Press was on a witch hunt with him because Ryan was going to take away some of the A.A. vote from their golden Obama.
The Tribune sued to have his Divorce records publicized and embarrassed him with consensual adult sex. Meanwhile Obama's controversial record was ignored. It was a classic case of the Press electing someone.

They don't run around highlighting Byrd's KKK history, Kennedy's manslaughter history, the Left Wing Media's racist attacks on Steele or Condi Rice, the cheap narcissistic illegalities of Hillary with her billing records, her FBI files, her commodities profits and her cozy relationship with the Whitewater noble figures. The RNC doesn't play the same game of the gutter politics as the Democrats.
The RNC doesn't get a crazy prosecutor to attack Pelosi's ties to StarKist Tuna, they don't get a crazy prosecutor to attack Harry Reid's land deals, they don't go there.
