This little boy's anger most likely stems from his father talking bad about President Bush, not the book. And I cannot help but think that the father's reason for not wanting grade school children to know about 9/11 is because they may actually put the blame for that day where it belongs, on the Muslim terrorists--and that, I am thinking would go against the father's agenda to 'hug your neighborhood Muslim.'

I take it the "F" word for this eight year old is not "fight."

Sounds to me like this man has done a poor job raising his son. And doing a poorer job by indicating that he tried to help the president by email. Like he has all the answers and access to all the intell. Reminds me of one of those Imans instructing his mosque attendees.

Compare that with a talk I had with my son when he was only 4 or 5 (he's 10 now) before 9/11.  It goes something like this...

"Dad, what's that?" as we walked from the parked car into the Mall of the Americas in Miami, Florida.  I replied, "Son, that's the American flag." I stood there and I thought to myself I should explain it a little more than just that after all he had seen it many times before that moment being that I was in the military.  So I stooped down and said, "Son, many people have died defending that flag. I defend that flag and would die protecting that flag and what it stands for.  That flag tells people about this country.  There are a lot of people who hate this country and would like to destroy that flag."  I went into a few more things about it that time and distance have faded from my mind.  But as I was kneeling down there looking at my son, wondering what he was thinking about, he just looked at me and the flag and confidently said, "Don't worry daddy. No one will get our flag."

If a 4 year old (at the time) can get it, why can't this grown man?

I asked my son why he had picked out the book.

He said: "I wanted to read about it because you never talk about it and I wanted to see if you've lied about it."

Lets see here...what is the problem with this....

How can anyone believe one single word from this creature Fox when the sentence above is an outright lie in itself.

If he (Fox) never talked about it...how can he (Sean) prove a lie?

I would like to see that book and see wah tit says.  I wonder about the publishing date and who wrote it.  Almost all the people on earth know taht there were only about 3K killed in the towers, with a few more from the planes themselves and some collateral damage elsewhere.  This boy will have some serious problems whne he grows up and searches for facts.  As it seems he is searching instead of just accdepting what his old man says.

Tim - this steve fox is an out and out idiot! He writes like a public school educated teen, "Then I remembered that whole censorship thing. As a journalist, I'm supposed to be against that. As a parent, I want all 9/11 books moved to the middle school library." He's becoming a "friend" instead of a parent. Sure, we should try to protect our children from the horros of the world, but reality is. Example: my daughter has to live with the reality that she will never walk. Remember, never is a really long time. THAT is reality. This dumb ass thinks he's doing well with his son - news item - be a father first, and leave the agenda to the rest of the schooling this little guy will get.

Look at his agenda - 'I'm supposed to be against that' - what a dip-%#&$@. His kid is a sponge, learning everything his "dad" is saying and doing in the house. Little fox want's to use the F-bomb - where'd he learn that Mr. Fox? Got news for 'ya - what's said at home, is learned at home. If the guy had REAL guts, he'd let the product of his loins experience ALL that was available to his age. But, then he might be exposed to truth, justice and the American way - something this liberal "journalist" would never allow. His few words speak vloumes. A coward is he, j'acuse! Mr. Fox.

When asked why do they hate us - ask yourself, why do they kill their own? Why don't they become better themselves? Why do they prove that we are smarter then they? J'acuse Mr. Fox, for not dealing with the truth and being honest with yourself.

First of all, did the mans son want to throw the "F" word before his father told him his side or after? Just a guess that his father may have had some influence on that decision.

SInce I'm raising a granddaughter, I've been fairly careful about what I say to her about the politics etc. of 9/11 and the aftermath. She told me one day that, "Arabs are bad people." I had to point out that they're not all bad people but there were some who were. (I hate absolutes). I pointed out that there are people murdered every day, in the United States, but we're not all bad people and left it at that.

My point isn't the comparison as much as the learning experience. My granddaughter will have to look at things realistically and form opinions on her own with just a little influence from me whereby Steve Fox's son has already learned the hatred of the left and will either have to grow out of it or become part of the problem.

Liberals can say all they want about how good they are, what I see here is a person that is already instilling hate in his son because of how he feels. Who's to say where we will all be when is son grows up? He could be hating the wrong people by then and where will his father be?

"Daddy," he said, "why did the September 11th happen?"

Like a good boy, he did as instructed.

"Son, not everyone in the world has the priviledge that you have of living in an open society," I began, once again reiterating what I have posted time and time again at NB.

"What do you mean, Daddy?" he asked.

"Son, you and I and Mr. Fox and his snot nosed kid," I continued, "we grow up in a society where there are ideas freely spoken, competing for our attention.  There is open debate, so what you and Daddy believe has to live up to the scrutiny of a hostile media.  Can you say 'Useful Idiots?'"

"Close, son, but you're right in theory," I replied.  "So you and I are constantly challenged in what we believe.  Over the course of our lives, we learn new things and eventually, the truth comes out about our core convictions.  Some people are like President Clinton and don't really care about core convictions.  Can you say 'power whore'?"

"Close enough, son," I reply proudly.  "Anyway, most of us want to believe what is right.  So, when confronted with ideas that contradict our core beliefs, sometimes we have to face reality and adjust our behavior.”

I continue.

“Unfortunately, those mean grown ups that were behind the acts of September 11th, well, most of them grew up in what daddy and his friends refer to as ‘closed societies’.”

“What’s a closed society, Daddy?”

“It’s a society where people grow up under what’s called a ‘fascist’ a mean man that usually always wears a military uniform and rules over boys and girls in what’s called a fear society, where people are afraid to tell the man in the uniform what a blithering statist idiot he is.  In fact, most of them don't really know how big of an idiot he is, all they know is that he is 'the leader'.  He usually wins by '99%' of the vote, and like the American Media in the 90's, his media tells him how he's the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.  Can you say 'Eleanor Clift'?”
