ABC’s Rosie O’Donnell called for the impeachment of President George W. Bush on Wednesday’s coffee klatch, “The View” (video available here):
Someone I believe should call for the impeachment of George Bush to let the world know…I’ll tell you why. Listen…I think we should do it so the world knows that the nation is not standing behind this president’s choices, that the nation, a democracy, feels differently than the man who was leading as if it were a dictatorship, and that we represent this country. He does not lead as a monarch.
Isn’t that special? Yet, as Allah over at Hot Air wrote of this segment, this wasn’t even the most idiotic thing Rosie said on Wednesday: “Of all the stupid things said by leftists that we’ve showcased on this site, her point about Bush’s alleged hypocrisy in honoring the New York subway hero while sending more troops to Iraq may be the very stupidest.”
Actually, I would like to nominate Joy Behar’s following statement for this dubious honor:
The country is against the surge. If the Congress is against the surge, are we going to call ourselves a democracy when the president makes the decision without the people? It’s not a democracy anymore.
Now that’s some solid understanding of how our democracy works under our constitution, dontcha think?
Isn’t it marvelous that ABC puts these folks in front of the American people five days a week to discuss political issues that they are totally ignorant about?

January 24, 2007 - 19:17 ET by MikeBOf all of the canards by the left, the one about Bush being a dictator or king is one of the most annoying. Hey, Rosie! Dumb*ss! If Bush were king, do you really think you would still be alive today? Does the phrase "Off with her head" mean anything to you? If Bush is as dictatorial and powerful as the left says, why does he allow the LibMedia to committ treason time after time after time? It would be so nice if the leftards stopped for a moment and listened to what they said.

"This president's approval ratings have sunk to levels unseen since Richard

That's right -- going into his State of the Union speech, George Bush's

that he resigned from office. Americans have had it with this president.
So today, I want to talk to you about the next President.
You may not know everything about all the Democratic candidates yet. But let
me assure you of one thing: building on our success in 2006 and continuing to
grow the Democratic operation everywhere this year is absolutely critical to
ensuring that a Democrat wins in 2008.

January 24, 2007 - 17:42 ET by mattm"We took back both houses...." Took back???? You can only take back something that's yours and was (wrongfully) taken from you.
This clearly demonstrates the attitude of the Democrat Party - power belongs to them, by right. Voters only matter as long as they vote Democrat. If the GOP wins, it's by fraud or deceit, because the will of the voters is whatever the Democrats say it is...

January 24, 2007 - 19:53 ET by Tom1969caIt's the same attitude up here in Canada - pundits often refer to the Liberal Party as "Canada's Natural Ruling Party", as if to suggest that any time the Conservative Party forms a government it is because the Liberals have screwed things up sufficiently to earn a "time out".
Of course, the reason they earn "time outs" in the first place is because they govern like they truly believe they're the Natural Ruling Party...

Nixon did not resign because he was "universally disliked", he resigned to save the country from the embarassment of an impeachment trial. And where was this behemoth lady when Bill Clinton kept pushing for his "health care" "plan" even after polls showed a lack of support from the American people? But she's just venting her hatred of Bush. Even she has to be smart enough to know that you can't impeach someone because they hold firm to a position that gets less than 50% approval rating in the (liberal media) polls. I guess according to Rosie's logic, President Bush need not think, nor his advisers or cabinet, on what to do with the Iran nuclear situation. He should just request a poll be taken and then do what over 50% of the respondents say. To do otherwise would be governing as if her were a king!

In the future probably about another 5 to 10 years we will be back in Iraq and it will cost more loss of life. 2 Terrorists will be greatly emboldened and we will see more civilian loss of life throughout the whole world. To me Iraq at the start was an optional war but ever since Al-Qeada, Iran and Syria(plus any other countries that I missed) joined to fight us in setting up a new government it changed to scope of this operation. It has turned from an optional conflict to an major component of the war on terror. If Rosie and Behar are willing to risk more American lives by sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring the threat then they should be the first to die at the hands of our enemy.

January 25, 2007 - 00:18 ET by thefirstjustinWhat part of "Commander-In-Chief" don't these idiots at The View understand? The liberal mindset is, "If a Conservative is President, then all of his military actions need to be approved by Congress. If a Liberal is President, then anything he does should get a pass." Where were these screaming Libs during the Clinton years when we went to war in order to remove Milosevich? Both him and Saddam were removed for similiar reasons, and now they are all screaming about Darfur (which is a horrible situation). They want us to do the same thing there that we are doing in Iraq. In fact they want us to leave Iraq to fix Darfur, and if we do that, Iraq will fall into chaos and that will be Bush's fault. Bush has never been able to do anything right from day 1 in the Liberal's mindset. They are still angry and bitter that both Al Gore and John Kerry lost. They offer no alternative plans and just criticize Bush. Either offer an alternate plan or shut up. I'm sick of all the complaining and no new and good ideas being offered by the Democrats.

January 25, 2007 - 00:52 ET by PeskyDaneIf Congress is against the surge, are we going to call ourselves a democracy when the president makes the decision without the people? It's not a democracy anymore.
The statement truly oozes stupidity and ignorance. The United States never was and never will be a democracy where half plus one can crush the rest, or where we call a 300 million person town hall meeting for every decision.
We are a representative republic. If you want to speak in the most technical terms, we are a democratic republic. In a representative republic we elect leaders and lawmakers because calling for a show of hands is simply not practical. Having said that, many states have provisions for initiative and referendum which allows for a more populist method of enacting laws - something seditionists like Behar hate - because people usually vote to secure our borders and protect national sovereignty. I can only shake my head at people like Behar who think that national policy should be poll driven. Sheesh.
