AN OPEN LETTER TO KEITH OLBERMANN
"If that wasn't enough to scare or outrage you, the rest of the four-hour, two-night show opener featured a mall attack, a would-be suicide bomber on a subway, and a successful suicide bombing on a passenger bus. Not in places where these things have already happened, but in a country called the United States of America.
Dear Keith Quisling;
I must say, the above statement made by you is one of the most ignorant and uninformed utterances I have ever heard in my entire life. Some here suspect that you are suffering from some form of amnesia. I have a different theory. I believe that you have had your head inserted in the hind-end of the DNC donkey for so long that you have missed out on some major historical events. I thought I would take a moment and bring you up to speed. I’ll keep it short and as simple as I can, as I know I will be straining the limits of your attention span.
Around 1400 years ago, a bunch of illiterate, murderous Islamic barbarians touched off a conflict with what was then the Civilized World. They referred to it as Jihad, or conquest, if you will. That conflict has surged and ebbed ever since.
The beginnings of our involvement in the festivities came along in the 1970’s, when a peanut farmer from Georgia, due to some national neurological misfire, managed to get himself elected President of the United States. Around here, we know him as “Jihad Jimmy” for reasons I will relate forthwith.
Well, Jimmy decided that the leader of Iran had to go, and, through subterfuge, dumb luck and a little help from France, maneuvered a replacement in to lead that country. His name was Ayatollah Khomeini.
Khomeini soon repaid the kindness of Jihad Jimmy by promptly having the U.S. Embassy in Tehran seized, which resulted in 50 Americans being held captive for 444 days. After that, there were numerous other attacks on our country’s interests that got a lot of Americans killed. Many marines died in an attack in Lebanon, and one poor old retired gentleman was executed and thrown off a cruise ship. There were other acts of kindness shown to us by the Jihadist’s, but I think you get the picture. Nice people these peaceful followers of Islam.
In 1993, when Bill Clinton was president, we suffered the first major attack on our own soil. Some peaceful Muslims set off some bombs in the basement of the World Trade Center, in an effort some believe was intended to bring those buildings down. Thankfully they failed. Bill Clinton was so distraught over this attack that he couldn’t even bring himself to go to New York to visit the site or even the victims. What is more, he did absolutely nothing about it.
There were some indirect attacks on us afterward, but the next direct attack was a biggie. More of those peaceful Muslims came over here and slammed a couple of large airliners into the World Trade Center buildings, finally managing to bring them down. They also succeeded in killing about the same number of Americans as were killed in a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor that got us into WW II.
At this point, President George W. Bush decided enough was enough and declared war on the 7th Century barbarians. After all, a president’s first responsibility is to defend this country, is it not? He went after the Islamic barbarians with a vengeance, and went about it in such away as to attract them to a location other than this country to fight the Jihad, as Islamic barbarians are commanded to do by the Quran. Ever since, people such as yourself have done nothing but criticize the man and make it as difficult as possible for this country to prevail in the conflict we now find ourselves in.
In doing so, you have put my fellow countrymen, including people I care about, in far greater danger. In criticizing Mr. Bush in such a hideous manner, one I believe borders on sedition, you have seriously emboldened our enemies. These people are taught to look for and use whatever means available to exploit any perceived weakness in their adversary. The only thing they have respected for 14 centuries is strength.
Perhaps you should consider moving your show to a place where your efforts at weakening our country would be more appreciated by those around you and who have so much in common with you. Who knows? You may even see a huge jump in your ratings!
I think you should seriously consider a move to Al Jazeera.
Be sure and have wonderful day, Vidkun.
Sincerely,
Dave R.
