Like Seinfeld's "soup Nazi," CNN is yelling "No birthday for YOU" to Abraham Lincoln on his 200th birthday -- at least not one for Lincoln alone. Interestingly, the Cable TV Newser can't seem to just give Lincoln his day without shoehorning Barack Obama into many of its stories about Lincoln. It's Lincoln/Obama day as far as CNN is concerned.
Certainly it is natural to see Obama as the culmination of Abraham Lincoln's legacy, but CNN takes this coupling a tad too far. Out of the 12 stories about Lincoln on their Lincoln page, fully one third include Obama. Additionally, the header graphic on the Lincoln page celebrates the day as being "From Lincoln to Obama." One of the stories is about an artist that morphed photographs of Lincoln's head with Obama's face as if this was somehow pertinent to Lincoln's birthday... or even pertinent to art, for that matter.
It nearly looks as if the day is as much about Barack Obama as it is Abraham Lincoln to CNN.

Maybe someone will put out some Obama stickers for the eggs, or maybe morph Obama's face on the Easter Bunny. That would be funny. However, my bet is going to be Obama on the Cross. And when Halloween rolls around, don't you know that the Barack and Michelle costumes will be the most popular? And we will be told about it, ad naseum. Christmas is just too much for me to contemplate right now.

He keeps harking back to emulating Presidents Lincoln and Roosevelt -- that means a Civil War and a World War.

Barry is still campaigning, Pelosi and Reid are spending our money and adding shady deals, Geithner has no clue what he's suppose to be doing. Biden is running his mouth as usual, and nobody understands what he is saying. The world markets are sliding in downward spin, wondering what we are going to do now. Barry is talking about Lincoln , whom he is nothing like, although we are to believe he is. The media and liberal love fest is in high gear, we are being strapped with another trillion dollars of debt, everything seems to be in chaos. When is this idiot suppose to run this country???

If it weren't for Obama, Lincoln's 200th birthday would be a 20 second blurb on one of their hourly news updates, rather than the ALL DAY "From Lincoln to OBAMA" marathon (advertised a week in advance) we're witnessing. The accompanying picture shows Katie looking adoringly at President Obama. To be fair and balanced her look is similar to the adoring look she gave to President Bush the times she interviewed him. I could be mistaken but it appears to be the same adoring look she had when she interviewed Gov. Sarah Palin.
I know what you are going to say. It's difficult to tell if Katie Couric is a conservative or a liberal by the look she gives political figures.
As for "Republican" Kelsey Grammer, this is what he said to a reporter: "I support all presidents," he said. "They have a very difficult job." And, he said, "it brings a tear to my eye every time I see him on camera." As for Lincoln, "he gave his life so that a president like Obama could come along."
If Kelsey Grammer is a Republican what is our party becoming?
As for CNN, what do you expect from a Time Warner Company?
