The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has launched a wonderful little feature that will run until Barack Obama takes the oath of office next month. They are calling it "Dear Mr. Obama" and it is a heartwarming exercise in child indoctrination and brainwashing. The Post-Gazette will be publishing letters from local students to Obama asking him for all sorts of global warming fixes, Iraq war enders, and big government programs.
Sadly, it appears that the government schools these kids have been subjected to have failed to teach their charges about anything like the American system, federalism, even science seems neglected. But they SURE taught their kiddies that government is there to spend, spend, spend, that government is to be treated like our collective parents, and that the war in Iraq is obviously an evil venture. Obviously.
And, yes little kiddies, The One, your very own Obamessiah, is flying to the rescue like a super hero. Cue the theme music -- I'd suggest the theme to 2001, like Elvis used, is appropriate for the sentiment here. The Obamessiah has entered the building!
The tykes are all about the alternative energy these days. They are full of exhortations to The One that he should force upon us all a reliance on wind power and solar cells. Obviously these youngsters have not been taught that no alternative energy source has thus far been found that is cheaper than oil and the fossil fuels. These kids are under the illusion that just instituting a government program is all it takes to overcome the science of the matter and make them cost effective and feasible. Yes, all we need is a word from our new religious icon in Washington DC cum Obamalot.
The first letter was amusing for its complete fraud. It is supposed to be from a ten-year-old child, yet it talks about alternative energy, the war in "Irak" and lays out a fairly detailed idea for a new method of education. It is painfully obvious that no ten-year-old ever wrote this letter.
Also we see little Neil Pandya, age 10, who asked Obama to lower the age limit on driving. Apparently, Neil was not told that states are supposed to legislate that restriction, not the federal government. Sadly, states' rights is not a subject taught to our young Mr. Pandya.
Several of the children are worried about mythical man-made, global warming and have been indoctrinated that Obama can control such things from the Mount Olympus of Washington. Here, for instance, are the worries of little Anna Devinney.
The first one is pollution. A lot of animals are dying because of pollution. Fish are dying from garbage being dumped into their habitat. People are dumping barrels of toxins into the oceans and many sea animals are losing food.
Another problem in the U.S. is global warming. In the future, all the land will be flooded with water because the icebergs are melting and the sea level is rising.
To be so misled by one's teachers is so disheartening.
The thing we can take from this is that who ever said kid's can't learn is way off base. Unfortunately, what they are learning is a thorough left-wing agenda. To paraphrase a famous saying, it isn't that our kids don't know anything. It's that what they know is all wrong.
Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, thinking it's cute, is all too willing to display for all to see what a failed education looks like.

People can do this? Where do you sign up to do that? Is it like the local Polar Bear Club things? I would imagine the barrels are kind of heavy, can one person lift one on their own, or is there mechanical assistance? Do you get to keep the empty barrels as souvenirs? How come I've never heard of this before. The only activities I ever see on the coasts are kite flying, surfing, swimming, building sand castles, para-sailing, and sunbathing. I encourage each and all here to get off you blogging butt and engage young minds. I was growing increasingly frustrated with events until this early fall when I was asked to coach high school debate in our smaller public school district. I'm a full time risk executive, so it wasn't an easy commitment to make, but as a former all-state debater in one of Nebraska's top programs 20-some years ago, I decided to give it a go.
My kids are handling Nozick, Mises, Garrett and other libertarian arguments which are exceptionally useful when arguing against teams advocating "Resolved: The U.S. Federal Government should..." The best thing is that not only does the team get it, but they're blowing away other teams and college judges with this "fresh line of argumentation we haven't heard" that is suddenly cool. Marxism is so tired in policy debate, but libertarianism is so unique and unheard that, when handled well, it tends to grab the attention of everyone in the round.
Obviously, not everyone is a debater, but I encourage you to GET ACTIVE and change some young minds. Your survival and mine may just depend upon it in a few years.

even though Kurdish people are in the south of Turkey engaging in light conficts with various people;
even though Georgia and Russia are basically at war in the north of Turkey;
even though Turkey itself has a generations-old conflict with Greece; even though Saudi Arabia is a hotbed for breeding terrorists;
even though ALL of these things are happening on top of the world's oil supply.... There will be no U.S. troop presence in the Middle East very soon. Obama said so.
Sigh.
I had an interesting converation once with a woman who actually thought the President had these omnipotent powers to do these things. She didn't understand what role, say, Congress played. Supreme Court? Forget about it!

Finally, the next morning, Senator Kerry ate chow at the Dining Facility. Normally when a Senator/Representative visits, he is joined by a contingent of soldiers/Marines/airmen from his home state. Despite the fact that the MP unit responsible for Green Zone security is an Army Reserve unit from Massachusetts, not a single soldier went to sit with him. (By contrast, Bill O'Reilly, host of that terrible shoutfest on Fox, had over 400 soldiers waiting in line to meet him on Saturday).

These comments were all written by the same person. Careful analysis of the syntax of each shows a propensity to both under and overestimate the intelligence of the purported age. Take this phrasing wherein the alleged 10 yr old has the acumen to propose CAFE STANDARDS on automobiles but curiously can't spell IraQ
We should also get more organizations that sell alternative energy. It would be nice to get totally electric automobiles, but that can't happen quickly so you could start with having a law that cars, trucks and other things like that have to have a certain miles per gallon.
Another thing I think is very important is to get out of the war in Irack.
It's almost as if the reporter faking these comments read them and realized that the only difference between this comment by a "ten year old" and a Hillary Clinton stump speech, is the screechy voice and he said, "Hey, I better throw in something that looks like a ten year old actually said it"!
The only problem is that any ten year old who can hazard the dangerous territory of the word "ALTERNATIVE" which could easily have been either "Alturnative", "Alternitive", wouldn't have a problem with IRAQ. Especially when one considers the amount of liberal indoctrination that has been chronicled in the Public School System concerning Iraq! Most schools have had children writing to either senators, the press or even to soldiers in the field, to express how we should all just "get along" and the one set of buzz words used endlessly has been "The War In IraQ". Think of how many times a "ten year old" has seen the word Iraq in print versus the few times he may have seen "alternative".
Here's another gem allegedly from ten year old Maria Vaccarello

Here we have what document fraud experts might call "identity variance". Fancy way of saying that in one sentence the person is careful to keep their thought assemblage simplistic, like that of a ten year old, but in the next breath they reveal themselves to be someone different by having no problem expressing even more advanced concepts. You'll notice that in the first paragraph, "we are losing lot's of people in the war" then she says the rift about children being left without a parent but then apparently unable to fully express herself, like one would expect of a ten year old, "maria" of limited depth, merely repeats herself with "young adults being killed in the war". This is because some of the stereotypes of a child which you'd see if a bad actor did an improv, are thought disorganization and repeating. The bad performer doesn't know that the reason a child repeats or speaks in jumbled fashion is because they are intellectually limited, not because they have problems expressing themselves. They simply don't know how to say something or how to express a thought. Which would mean that only thoughts below a certainly level of intelligence are available to them. But not little MARIA! NOOOOO... little "Maria" has a growth spurt. Fresh off of mangling her plea for the dead and dying, she's now ready, sans stumble or repetition, to tackle the "economy". She will even do so by linking the complex thoughts of class room spending, with developing technology and juxtaposing that against it's eventual benefit to the economy. Sounds more like a geek with a bowtie and an American Federation of Teachers union card in his pocket than a ten year old, huh? Little too San Fran Nan? Ah, Ms Pelosi must be proud! YEAH OKAY.
Liberals routinely lie, when the truth would serve. A practice which my beloved Mother always told me, was the sign of a truly dangerous person.
