Oprah cries: "She talked to Greta. She talked to Matt. She talked to Larry. But she didn’t talk to me…"
Apparently, Oprah is whining that Sarah Palin won't come on her show now that the election is over. But, who can blame Governor Palin for snubbing Oprah after the nasty things Oprah reportedly said about her before the election?
In an interview with TV tabloid schlocker Extra, Oprah acted all shocked that Palin has yet to agree to an "O" interview.
"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over... I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn’t talk to me. But maybe she'll talk to me now that she has a [multi-million dollar] book deal."
It might be remembered that back in September, Drudge reported that Oprah had been heard to say that she would never interview Sarah Palin. Not long after the Drudge flash, Oprah issued a press release where she denied the reports of the mean things she said about Palin. Oprah made some vague claim that she had "decided" not to open her show for political candidates despite the fact that she was an open participant in Barack Obama's campaign and had the now president elect and his wife on her show several times during the campaigns.
So, now Oprah is wide eyed with shock that Palin has snubbed her thus far?
Talk about clueless! Vacuity reigns supreme in Chicago, I guess.

December 5, 2008 - 07:46 ET by ArchConservativeOnce again, a liberal believes that they are a deity. Face it "O", Sarah won't grovel to be on your show. She doesn't need you. And if she were to go, she wouldn't let you get away with anything. Leave your couch open to those fawning, idiotic, idol-worshippers that would gladly be there to wipe your nose if you had a sniffle. December 5, 2008 - 07:49 ET by USA4freedomInfo from the Swamp Blog:
An October Gallup Poll before the rallies but after her public endorsement of Obama found that her favorable ratings had fallen from 74 to 66 percent while her unfavorable ratings jumped from 17 to 26 percent.
When this was noted in an April Ticket item, hundreds of female commenters, many clearly supporting the Democratic candidacy of Sen. Hillary Clinton, left angry comments about Winfrey's.failure to support the first serious White House candidacy of a female. They also seemed angered over her public advocacy of new-age spiritualism, including among her book club choices.
Now come new TV ratings showing that her daytime audience, which is still the largest and was nearly 9 million at its height in 2004-05, has fallen for the third straight year, to 7.8 million a year ago and now to7.3 million.
Her monthly publication, "O, The Oprah Magazine,"has also lost 10 percent of its circulation in the last three years, accordingto a New York Times story. And a new editor is being sought. Officials of billionaire Winfrey's company, Harpo Productions, profess no concern over the dip in numbers.
They say daytime audiences have generally declined and heraudience is still about one-third larger than the No. 2 daytime program, Dr.Phil. Many Ticket commenters also said they had switched their viewing habits to The Ellen De Generes Show.
Figures also show that Winfrey has lost about 25 percent ofher female audience between ages 25 and 54 in the last 36 months.
Decisions have consequences, you supported Obama, you put your weight behind him (pun intended). You made a choice “I..the wonderful Oprah will talk to Sara.. AFTER.. THE.. ELECTION..” Now that your ratings are going down, you want a Mulligan, too bad.
Good for you Sara. We love ya!!

In perspective:
December 5, 2008 - 08:22 ET by Red JeepOprah’s show is watched by only a little over 2% of the country. For all the hype and media attention Oprah gets, only 2+% of the country watches. In perspective though that 2% is far larger than any cable news show audience and double what Meet the Press gets for viewers.
Guess 97% of the country has better things to do than watch Oprah and I am sure Sarah Palin is in that 97%.

December 5, 2008 - 08:39 ET by nadadhimmiOpra's rise was based on white liberals guilt and support. You see, it was ok to be an Opraphile becase it showed how liberal, progressive and racially sensitive you were, after all, your fav celebrity was a black woman and this gave you "street cred". Of course, that also meant you didn't have to actually deal with minorities personally, you could just keep O's latest recc'd book in your Prius to establish your racial bona fides. O is upset now because she's no longer top negro. All those needs she satisfied are now usurped by the Great Usurper himself, our lord Barack. And that's nothing compared to how pissed is Jesse Jackson.

Sarah Palin: Just say Never
December 5, 2008 - 11:55 ET by KimnotaI hope Sarah Palin never goes on Oprah or The View, and certainly not in an interview with Barbara Walters. These people need to be marginalized. She should go on the Ellen Show and Today with Kathy Lee Gifford, Regis and Kelly because these people attract the same audience but are less hostile. She shouldn't have gone on Larry King either.

I certainly would hope Sarah is wise enough to never give her the time of day...which I have said before...if she does, I will be mighty disappointed.
I know others will come back and say all the reasons why it would be a good decision if she does this down the road...I think the one of the biggest mistakes the politicians on the right side of the aisle have been making is going on all of these leftist shows over the last 15 years or so now...they are not your friends...they never will be, quit kissing their over-blown arses and egos.
Just my two cents.

Oprah Set Up of Sarah Palin
December 6, 2008 - 16:39 ET by jcharlesI would never agree with Sarah Palin sitting down to an interview with the Marxist Queen Oprah Winfrey. First, Sarah Palin doesn't need Whinfrey, nor does she need to go on any more "Got Cha" interviews that mock and dispariage her. Second, Whinfrey judges Sarah Palin as she would judge hersefl. Sarah Palin has more integrety and honesty in her little finger than Oprah Winfrey could dream of having in her plumply body, and would never be willing to compromise her values for economic gain. Yes, Sarah Palin has a book deal, but Winfrey is no friend, and Sarah need not expose herself the this cheap hypocrite. Too bad Oprah, have to find someone else to use to boost your sagging ratings.
to tell the truth
December 7, 2008 - 13:40 ET by CatherwoodWhy doesn't Sarah just come out and say it. "Look, Okra, your show is for liberals, weenies and black people, I wouldn't feel comfortable there." All Okra is trying to do is shore up her audience afterhaving lost some of them when she dissed Sarah the first time and came out against Republicans who disagreed with her on the saintliness of the Divine One. It never ceases to amaze me that people actually believe the tripe and propaganda this bean-bag chair of a woman puts out on her show and with her booklist.
substantive leadership vs. lightwieght popculture
December 7, 2008 - 19:48 ET by fast richardPeople who already like Sarah Palin are not likely to be Oprah fans. People who voted for Obama because of Oprah’s endorsement are unlikely to become Palin voters. People who might be swayed to become Palin voters need to be convinced that she is as substantive a political leader as her supporters believe her to be.
Building her political credibility can be done on the mainstream political talk and interview shows. Coming on Oprah’s lightweight popcultural extravaganza will do nothing for Palin’s credibility, but would instead help pigeonhole her as a pop-cult phenom. If Oprah wanted to become a politically relevant venue, she should have had Palin on during the campaign.
Oprah helped make empty celebrity the watchword of this campaign season. It is time for grownups like Sarah Palin to bring reason and ideas back to the political process. Oprah and the rest of the pseudointellectual poseurs of the press are an obstacle to rational political debate. Palin can help raise the level of debate by being selective about where she appears in the media.
