Yet another writer from a lefty paper is here to tell us all that McCain and all his followers are racists. You see, if McCain wins, Steve Kraske imagines in his latest column that all blacks will feel that Jim Crow is back and the rest of the Democratic Party will be "angry at the world." So, a McCain win will be the return of Jim Crow? Isn't that an awfully irresponsible lie to promulgate, Mr. Kraske?
Kraske ruminates about how horrible it will be if McCain beats The One at the polls on Tuesday. But, he gets quite a lot of his analysis wrong, not surprisingly.
Just imagine it: One more loss for the Democratic Party in a race for the White House, its ninth in 14 elections. All those young people and first-time voters excited about Obama, eager to see a dynamic new figure in charge, let down, dispirited, disillusioned by the outcome.
Unfortunately for Kraske's fevered imagination, Gallup has found that no more young people have registered to vote this time than they did in 2004, so this avalanche of new, young voters has turned out to be a myth. There really won't be that many new, young voters feeling all "dispirited" and the like.
Just imagine it. African Americans angered by the verdict, struggling to understand why Democrats gained seats in the House and Senate only to see the first black nominee go down.
Jim Crow is dead? Nope, he just got invited to dinner.
An Obama loss is the return of Jim Crow? This is just plain irresponsible of a so-called journalist to say. Are there any Republicans campaigning on the idea that if they win they'll bring back Jim Crow -- even ONE?
Then we get the common Democrat lie that claims only Republicans refuse to "reach across the aisle" to work with Democrats.
McCain will promise to reach across the aisle, but George W. Bush said that, too. Democrats will recoil and guarantee one thing: no help from us.Back in the Senate, Obama immediately begins to vie with Hillary Clinton for the title of titular party leader. Both want another shot in 2012.
First of all, George W. Bush had a great record of working hand-in-hand with Democrats in Texas. But, once he got to Washington, the Democrats there slapped his hand away and steadfastly refused to work with him on anything.
Secondly, McCain also has a long record of working across the aisle. And, if he wins, you can bet the only reason he may not be able to replicate that record is because, once again, the cynical partisans in Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi's offices will NOT reach out to grasp McCain's hand.
Third, Barack Obama has almost NO record of working across the aisle. Also, Obama has not one time bent his extremely liberal principles and met a Republican half way on ANY bill. Not once. Never.
And, we can dispense with the claim that the GOP in Congress won't work with the Democrats, too. All one need do is invoke one name to prove that wrong: Trent Lott (R, Miss.). When he was Senate Majority Leader, he frustrated his own party at every opportunity to work with Democrats. But Democrat leaders Tom Daschel before him and Harry Reid after him have done no such thing in reverse.
But, then Kraske gets a little more sensible with his analysis of what will happen amongst the Democrats if McCain should win the White House.
Kraske is probably correct that the infighting will be vicious and hand-to-hand as the wounded Barack Obama and the likely resurgent Hillary Clinton will fight for ownership of the party.
Likely they'll both lose and a new leader will find himself in control as the dust-up settles between Clinton and Obama. And the meanness and infighting won't be the GOP's fault!
But, for the most part, Kraske not only gets it all wrong, but he fosters the wild-eyed, hatred of whites that is endemic in the Jeremiah Wright wing of the Democrat Party and ignores reality to warp modern events to fit his own hatred of the GOP. And in that we can see the same old Democrat Party playbook that will exist whether Barack Obama wins or not.

November 1, 2008 - 06:28 ET by Indiana JoeOn the nose! I've been enlightening people to that fact lately. Amazing that no one seems to know the history of the Democrat Party vis "race-relations."
Basically, the Republican Party was BORN as an abolitionist split from the "Democratic-Republican Party." And within less than 10 years, they elected their first President: Abraham Lincoln.
And, until Reagan, "The South" was a traditional Democrat strong-hold. "Jim Crow," "John Bull," and the KKK? ALL Democrat creations! George Wallace standing on the steps of the school to keep out black students? Another fine Democrat southern Governor! The people just now finally being charged with murdering civil-rights workers down south? Fine, loyal KKK Democrats all!
No wonder the Democrat "dumbing down" of our educational system is focused on re-writing history!

The rock was those nasty Republicans and the bush that broke his fall was the safety net the dems set up for all the downtrodden.Apparently there are many more like me who refuse to spend a dime on this waste of ink they try to pass off as a paper. Their subscriptions and add revenues have dropped so much the Scar decided to raise the cost of the paper. November 1, 2008 - 06:36 ET by Indiana JoeHonest, I'm so tired of this BS I just want it to be over.
What morons like Kraske fail to understand is that Republicans don't vote for Democrats!!! I just can't put it any plainer than that.
I know I haven't voted Democrat since I voted for Reagan the first time. I have to shamefully admit that I may have voted for Carter in '76. I can only plead that I was a political neophyte, and besides, who could have really voted for Ford? He makes a good truck, but not so good a President.
So I don't care if the Democrats run a green-and-blue striped Martian (even if he DOES have an American birth-certificate). If Obama loses votes because of his color, it will be Democrat votes he's "losing."
I'm not voting for him because he's a socialist, big-government Democrat (I know, redundant).
Period.

0bama's lost votes
November 1, 2008 - 10:09 ET by nandrelliGood point that any votes lost by 0bama due to racism will be Democratic votes. We Republicans will vote against 0bama anyway, (a) because we don't like his policies and (b) because he is a Democrat.
Most Democrats will like his policies (BECAUSE they are Democrats) so if they don't vote for him, it is because of his skin color.
This actually came out during the Pennsylvania primaries, when 20% of white Democrats admitted they would not vote for a black man (and if 20% ADMITTED it, you know the number is probably 30-40%).
But in the eyes of people like Kraske, only Republicans can be racist, so they can't even see the true facts.

African Americans angered by the verdict, struggling to understand why Democrats gained seats in the House and Senate only to see the first black nominee go down.
Kraske and MSM are teaching these young African Americans to take to the streets if they don't win instead of understanding why Obama didn't win and to keep faith that an honorable African Am. will one day take the White House. IMO Obama is just not honorable or worthy of the highest office in the land.
