Via Drudge we get the recognition that Time Magazine has once again placed the Obamessiah on its cover. This makes the 7th time in the space of a year that Obama has graced the cover of Time Magazine.
Thus far, McCain has found the favor of the front cover precisely two times.
In the tank much?
Naahhh! Can't be.
It MUST be just a coinkiedink.

August 21, 2008 - 17:32 ET by Free ThinkerThe economy has to be a touchy subject for you lefties. Since Nancy and harry took over in Congress the economy has turned downward as gas prices have doubled and they seem to have no concern. I am surprised you would even bring it up. Obama sure doesn't want to talk about it especially since he would have to openly discuss the massive tax and spending increases he is proposing that would devastate this economy. So, national security and the economy are effectively taken off the table as issues for Obama and he has to rely on this image that his handlers have marketed that the public isn't buying anymore. Buh-Bye Barak.

August 21, 2008 - 18:50 ET by Seabeach4348And exactly what does your hero, the messiah, plan to do about it other than raise taxes on "the rich"?

Simple.

Obviously you are one of those Obamessiah supporters that have not the first clue what it is that Obama stands for, what he will or won't do in office, what he has done in office in the past... in short, you know absolutely nothing about your candidate of "change."

Well?
August 21, 2008 - 20:12 ET by FoolicanSo what if I don't know what he's about? He is the chosen one. Fold the hundred dollar bill longways four times, place a penny in the center, fold the bill over the penny, and then make a mobius strip. The resulting lettering will spell out "OBAMA."
As we all know, Abraham Lincoln was a perpetuator for civil rights.
Now repeat the same thing with the dime - the face of another reputable Democrat president - and the letters spell out "GOD."
Surely this does convince you!

It seems inconceivable that a random newbie from congress has managed to get this far purely on half of his ancestry and an empty message of not acting like other politicians (ironically, the same message politicians have used for literally thousands of years). Then I recall that liberals are content to "hope" and "feel", that investigation and rational evaluation are not required for their devotion to a cause, and it all makes sense...

August 21, 2008 - 20:05 ET by CortillaenThey'll be the cause of plenty of people not knowing the truth and voting based on lies and distortions, certainly. However, those in the media do what they do precisely because they operate without the use of critical thought and rational evaluation. To them, as with most liberals, what is is less important than what might be. Modern liberalism is nothing more than the willing and intentional disregard of reality in favor of fantasy. This includes disregarding the gross misconduct of perpetrating their suppression of reality upon those who would otherwise act upon the truth. To them, the fantasy is good, and keeping others in the same ignorance they consciously impose upon themselves is also good. Simply put, they are children in adult bodies, forever pretending that not looking at something erases its existence.

August 21, 2008 - 17:24 ET by BuffNBoneWould be willing to give odds that, on the whole, Obama's 7 covers are more flattering and convey some aspect of his campaign's talking points (or images/logos) while the 2 McCain covers are less flattering and fail to carry his message in a positive light.

and, need I add, of course the article contents are MUCH more favorable for the Chosen One than for Senator McCain!

Hello Foolican
August 21, 2008 - 19:24 ET by Parker1227I suspect the reason why lefties like you hate neocons is because neo-conservatives are the liberals who abandoned the democratic party when it was hijacked by the blame-America-first, communist loving left. They are the rational liberals who choose to co-exist with the right (think Lieberman) rather than sell out freedom in the name of the fools gold of passivism and peace at any cost.
The far left George McGovern/John Kerry/Barrack Obama wing is now in total control of the democratic party. They have all sipped the poison tea of moral (political and cultural) relativism, and nanny state socialism.
The "progressive" movement consists of people who have been brainwashed by an army of far-left professors like Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky who have made a living teaching young people to hate the core values of classic Western civilization and its biggest promoter, the U.S. (little things like individual responsibility, hard work, free markets, competition, and a fierce desire to defend freedom).
The leftist non-interventionist view of the world must accept the very strained logic that living under totalitarianism is a voluntary choice. What kind of choice could there be when speaking your mind earns you a trip to a re-education camp?
But it makes sense that the left would be tolerant of totalitarianism, because the values of individual responsibility and state perfectionism are antithetical. A state with the goal of total perfection can only demand more and more power to achieve its goal, until the dream of ultimate compassion turns into the nightmare of complete totalitarianism.

August 21, 2008 - 19:58 ET by Clear thinker"...must accept the very strained logic that living under totalitarianism is a voluntary choice."
Folks may think that line is funny or even rediculous, not me. Here's a part of something I wrote yesterday... "One of their priorities is to control population levels, and they want the governments of the world, including ours, to ‘mandate’ a ‘voluntary’ agreement whereby we all agree to have just one child." You can read the rest of it here.
When I first read that line I thought I had mis-read it and went back over it twice. Then it hit me, this guy is serious. Anyone that honestly believes that 'voluntary' and 'mandate' are similar in nature, or compatable, should commit suicide, ASAP.

Time: Obama = Lincoln?
August 21, 2008 - 21:53 ET by Captain KirockOk, I may be reaching here but this latest Time cover photo looks eerily similar to a famous photo of Abraham Lincoln.
Since Obama will be in Springfield, Illinois (Lincoln's adopted home
town) this Saturday with his new VP candidate, could the hopelessly

Coverage
August 23, 2008 - 05:04 ET by SchnikeysI'm starting to get sick of seeing a minimum of two magazines or publications featuring a flattering picture of Obama and/or his wife/family whenever I walk into convenience marts or supermarkets.
If these periodicals can't find it in them to suppress their expressions of Obama-induced euphoria, then I wish some of these stores would variate the publications they offer...IF you know what I mean...
