I certainly agree with you, Warner, that Colbert I. King is completely confused as to who is the beneficiary of the SCOTUS decision on the DC gun ban. I have heard that DC has had more murders since the beginning of the war in Afghanistan than the US military has suffered combat deaths in the same period of time. If that is true or even nearly true, it is worth pointing out that we are comparing ONE “Gun Ban Protected” US city (theoretically at peace) with two whole countries in the midst of all out wars. The scale of the failure of the gun ban is only exceeded by the failure of King to comprehend its failure; but we talking here about your standard deranged WaPo editor, so this is no big surprise.

I should caution you here. I suspect that this fight not over; in fact I suspect that it has not even begun. Just wait until someone shoots one of the WaPo’s favorite “dudes.” Whether he is dispatched cleanly, or merely maimed, the WaPo will have a VICTIM of its most favorite sort, and the more despicable the better, upon which to lavish the WaPo's societal guilt. Oh Yes, and will the excoriation of that sensible self-defending citizen ever cease? Not until his or her life has been thoroughly ruined, and if possible sent to prison, through the efforts of the Washington Post.

Usually King presents a liberal view in a manner that is understandable, not bellicose, not even truculent. This article however left me wondering what his point was. Like Scrapiron, I wondered if he was for the bangers having guns. Biff likes it because the issue comes with so many buttons he can push. By the way, Biff, your comment about the many rounds ending up in the pool might leave the impression on novices that it is safe to shoot into still bodies of water. We wouldn't want to put a round into some bystander on the other side, would we.

 Well, if Will is invading my domicile with evil intent, he deserves to be fired at. Loaded handguns? That's a loaded statement, and King must be loaded. Not gonna fire an unloaded handgun very often. My brother used to load 2 .38's 1 .357 magnum, and 3 more .38's just to keep me off guard: bang bang BOOM! cringe bang cringe bang cringe bang.

The libs predicted Dodge City in Michigan when "shall issue" was enacted. I have yet to see a handgun. And violent crime is down:

And, she adds, even if the statistics prove to be correct, there are still more guns in Michigan homes and on the street, in her opinion offering the potential for increased violence some day in the future.

Keep on rationalizing, Babycakes. Even after proof after proof after proof, libs will still repeated their untrue mindless slogans. This story will rank right up there with all the "the surge is working" coverage.

Let's revisit the crime rate in DC  and Chicago in say 5 years after the citizens have been allowed it arn themselves.  

Around here most of the crime is against the elderly, pizza drivers and chain convenience stores/supermarkets. Most elderly don't own guns or can't use them quick enough. The others are not allowed to have a firearm when at work. There is a guy that runs a small store near my house. He carries a Glock 9MM on his side in full view. Guess what? He has never been robbed.

Then there is the crime that nobody cares about. That would be drug dealers or gang member blowing each other away. Most of them couldn't leagally own a gun anyway.

Do any recall the crime against tourists in Florida? They didn't dare approach a citizen because they might be carrying.

I don't care what the whining libs say. It is a fact that where there is a large population of armed citizens there is less crime.

DC will be a MUCH safer City once the Law Abiding Citizens are allowed to have firearms to protect themselves!
