Newspaper 'Comedy': GOP 'Longs' For '1952' When 'Women, Blacks and Gays Knew Their Place'

The York Daily Record thinks it has comedy gold on its hands today with a faux "ad" that claims that Republicans are frustrated because they "long for a simpler time, say 1952, when women. blacks and gays knew their place." The supposedly humorous "ad" says that Republicans want people to die from diseases and fear the war ending because war profiteering will cease stopping Republicans from making "tons of money off the suffering of others." It makes Republicans out as warmongering, uncaring cretins that want people to be harmed all across the country. In short, just about every offensive thing you can imagine is leveled against Republicans "suffering electile dysfunction."

The faux ad is presented like a drug company ad for a drug that "blocks the receptors in the brain, those things liberals call a conscience." The fake ad also features a very, very badly produced fake radio commercial to go along with the unseemly print edition. You can hear the ad at www.mikeargento.com (Go on over to ol’ Mikey’s website and leave a nice, kind message about his efforts, will ya?)

Here is the text of the fake ad as published in the York Daily Record:

Suffering electile Dysfunction?

Worried that your campaign contributors will abandon you?

Losing sleep thinking that people are onto your con game?

GOPEXOR might be for you!

You can feel normal again!

GOPEXOR is not for everybody. Do you long for a simpler time, say 1952, when women. blacks and gays knew their place and weren't all over the TV trying to tell you what to do? Or even better, do you long for the 16th century, when life in America was unburdened by things like government? Do you yearn for a time when science and technology didn't try to solve life's problems and we all died from cholera, consumption and the common cold?

Then GOPEXOR is your answer.

If you're worried that the Irq war might end some day, costing private contractors such as Blackwater and Haliburton millions of dollars, or you're upset that rich people just don't get enough tax breaks, or or if you're concerned that the next president may turn out to be competent and reverse the policies of President Dubya, GOPEXOR ay work for you.

So assk your doctor about GOPEXOR today!

GOPEXOR - The Change You Deserve!

Yeah, hilarious. I'm rolling on the floor as we speak.

I have to say, anyone that knows anything about history would find it odd to peg the GOP as the one longing for a time when blacks, gays and women knew their place. After all, that is a perfect description of the Democratic Party's dysfunctional ideology. Now, I wonder if they are going to make their next ad for a new drug called "DEMorex," that drug that will ease your conscience of being the party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, Japanese internment, and welfare laws that invented a new plantation on which to enslave the people?

On second thought, the uncivil folks that made this so-called humor have already proven that their own consciences have been surgically removed at some point.

I do have one little hint for the "actors" in their badly produced "radio commercial," though. Don't quit your day job selling tie-deyed shirts and Birkenstocks. Voice over work isn't your thing. Then again, neither is humor. But you have hate and incivility down really good. Unfortunately, that doesn't make you special, it just makes you a typical, dime-a-dozen, distempered nutrooter.

Of course, the other question is this: is this the sort of thing that the MSM uses to show how serious about the “news” they are?
