Newspaper 'Comedy': GOP 'Longs' For '1952' When 'Women, Blacks and Gays Knew Their Place'

The York Daily Record thinks it has comedy gold on its hands today with a faux "ad" that claims that Republicans are frustrated because they "long for a simpler time, say 1952, when women. blacks and gays knew their place." The supposedly humorous "ad" says that Republicans want people to die from diseases and fear the war ending because war profiteering will cease stopping Republicans from making "tons of money off the suffering of others." It makes Republicans out as warmongering, uncaring cretins that want people to be harmed all across the country. In short, just about every offensive thing you can imagine is leveled against Republicans "suffering electile dysfunction."

The faux ad is presented like a drug company ad for a drug that "blocks the receptors in the brain, those things liberals call a conscience." The fake ad also features a very, very badly produced fake radio commercial to go along with the unseemly print edition. You can hear the ad at www.mikeargento.com (Go on over to ol’ Mikey’s website and leave a nice, kind message about his efforts, will ya?)

Here is the text of the fake ad as published in the York Daily Record:

Suffering electile Dysfunction?

Worried that your campaign contributors will abandon you?

Losing sleep thinking that people are onto your con game?

GOPEXOR might be for you!

You can feel normal again!

GOPEXOR is not for everybody. Do you long for a simpler time, say 1952, when women. blacks and gays knew their place and weren't all over the TV trying to tell you what to do? Or even better, do you long for the 16th century, when life in America was unburdened by things like government? Do you yearn for a time when science and technology didn't try to solve life's problems and we all died from cholera, consumption and the common cold?

Then GOPEXOR is your answer.

If you're worried that the Irq war might end some day, costing private contractors such as Blackwater and Haliburton millions of dollars, or you're upset that rich people just don't get enough tax breaks, or or if you're concerned that the next president may turn out to be competent and reverse the policies of President Dubya, GOPEXOR ay work for you.

So assk your doctor about GOPEXOR today!

GOPEXOR - The Change You Deserve!

Yeah, hilarious. I'm rolling on the floor as we speak.

I have to say, anyone that knows anything about history would find it odd to peg the GOP as the one longing for a time when blacks, gays and women knew their place. After all, that is a perfect description of the Democratic Party's dysfunctional ideology. Now, I wonder if they are going to make their next ad for a new drug called "DEMorex," that drug that will ease your conscience of being the party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws, Japanese internment, and welfare laws that invented a new plantation on which to enslave the people?

On second thought, the uncivil folks that made this so-called humor have already proven that their own consciences have been surgically removed at some point.

I do have one little hint for the "actors" in their badly produced "radio commercial," though. Don't quit your day job selling tie-deyed shirts and Birkenstocks. Voice over work isn't your thing. Then again, neither is humor. But you have hate and incivility down really good. Unfortunately, that doesn't make you special, it just makes you a typical, dime-a-dozen, distempered nutrooter.

Of course, the other question is this: is this the sort of thing that the MSM uses to show how serious about the “news” they are?

Hey Democrats, do not speak for me!

Don't you just love it when Democrats take it upon themselves to speak for Republicans. Not only that, but they never speak the truth. They only spit out the fantasies that they have about Republicans.

"Forget change, I want improvement!"

Mmmm 1952....

My memory isn't what is used to be but...

For all of 1952 wasn't there a DEMOCRAT in the White House?

And didn't the DEMOCRATS have a substantial majority in the House?

And wasn't it a 48/48 tie in the Senate with the DEMOCRAT Vice President casting the deciding vote?

So it would appear that in 1952 thanks to DEMOCRATS blacks, gays and women were sure KEPT in their place.

Vote 4 change. Vote 4 anything. See Jack & Mr Shy's first campaign ad for the ONLY viable 3rd party candidate.

Now, now

Don't go confusing these distempered, nutrooters with the FACTS, will ya?

Democrats are the Big Lie

I agree with your comments completely, and that's what I thought of when I read the NY ad. It was the damn Democrats!! More than ever, Democrats are Marxists. Republicans are Americans. Anyone who needs to know the difference can just look around the world. Oppression, poverty and despair are hallmarks of Marxism, who have no conscience.

We are nearing the 1940s, not the '50s, and the socialists are again ready to destroy for their singular elitist purpose.

Up to 1992 Democrats controlled Congress for 40 years

And we definitely don't want this candidate in the White House.

Obama faces trouble on several fronts in the general election with blue-collar workers and other parts of the electorate who question his lack of experience, foreign-policy judgment and social liberalism

That's desperation on the part of the Democrats, they don't speak for me either. I wasn't around in 1952.

Yeah. It's unfortunate that

Yeah. It's unfortunate that they used mythological visions from the year 1952. The majority of us weren't born then. All my life I've known racial parity, compassion, and equality. The Dems are recalling a time long ago that many of us cannot relate to.

I had no idea BDS was so incapacitating and terminal.

Excuse me, but I have never heard of York Daily Record, but now actually went there the check it out.

I believe it's important to cover media bias, but why give these small time outlets (OLBIE included) more attention? Those little insignificant sources of Liberalism must love the attention.

Don't get me wrong! You guys are still the FIRST and LAST website I check every day, and will continue to be the one.

We cover

We cover the media... NOT the big media.

Bias is everywhere and we are charged to root it out no matter where it hits. Besides, it's just as important to find it in small papers as well as big. Why let the small papers off the hook? If we can pressure even local media to be more fair and balanced, we should do so.

Thirty years ago, San

Thirty years ago, San Antonio was an outpost of the West. Nobody had ever heard of it. Now, we are the seventh largest city in the nation, 2 million strong and still among the fastest growing areas in the United States. Thirty years ago, someone might have asked, "why cover the "Express News?". Because a little diligence now may lead to better behavior by a bigger paper read by millions. Who knows?

Is it not ironic that liberals keep pushing these ads out attacking the GOP then turn around and pat themselves on the back for being brave and 'speaking truth to power'?

Party pride is a bigger problem

Once upon a time the Democrat party was the party of the people for a reason.  The reason was because most Democrats in this country were conservatives.  Somewhere during the early part of last century socialists started infiltrating the Democrat party.  Slowing they began inacting big government policies that started erroding our freedom.  Somewhere around the 50's the conservatives in the party recognized what was happening and jumped ship to the Republican party.  What some people didn't realize was that the socialists had started making headway in the Republican party as well. Nixon, Ford, Bush 41 and Bush 42 are all examples of liberal Republicans.  Reagan was a fluke.  He was a conservative who was not part of this regime.  Perhaps that was the real reason for the assassination attempt right after Reagan took office.  I am not a conspiracy theorist.  These are just my observations and I may be all wrong.

Any of the actions that took place prior to the 60's or the 70's that the Republican party boasts about was of a result actions taken against the conservatives of the day and not because the Democrats have always been "evil" and the Republicans "good".   And yes conservatives, and in fact the whole nation, used to be racist by today's standards.  But we are not those people and it is arrogant to judge the past by our standards as if we are any better than them.  How will we be judged by our predecessors?

In the 60's the Democrat party became more open about their socialism and have been ever since.  They may deny the socialist label but it is there and it is disguised at "liberal" or "progressive".

To boast of the greatness of the Republican party misses that point.  The Republican party is now the Democrat party of the late 50's, early 60's.  It is full of conservatives that are realizing their party has moved too far to the left.

Only this time there is no major party to run to.

Neither party can make any great claims of one being better than the other.  It is the people they support that are great not the party.  Today neither party supports the conservatives in this country.  They both are full of socialists.

Unless we can convince enough conservatives to leave the Republican party and throw our support behind a third party candidate we are doomed to be a fully socialist nation within the next few years.

None of this has anything to do with returning to 1952, it has to do with preserving all of our freedoms and preserving this great nation that our founders left for us.  And pushing the socialists out of our nation.  There are plenty of socialist "utopias" around the world in which all of the socialists in our country are more than welcome to move.

I don't have a candidate that I am supporting fully.  Alan Keyes is running as a third party candidate and I like a lot of what he has to say.  I don't know if there is anyone that fully represents the conservative ideals that Reagan or our founding fathers left for us.

It is definitly not John McCain.

Come November if no one else appears on the horizon I will be casting my ballot for Alan Keyes.

RJ... Boy did you say it

RJ...

Boy did you say it all for me so well...

I too will be voting or writing in Keyes, I have followed him for years, he is the closest there is for me left now to vote for.

I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to express what I feel and could never write like you did...excellent post.

Thanks BigTimer

Thanks for the kind words. This is just something I feel passionate about. I think people that think the way we do are in the minority. There are sooooo many in the Democrat Party that are willing and eager to have their freedoms taken away from them. And not enough Republicans have realized the leftward slant that John McCain gives that party. I was a Romney supporter but I would have been just as happy of Thompson, Hunter or Tancredo got the nomination. When Romney backed out I changed my party affiliation to Independent. Right now I would even take Ron Paul over John McCain. I agree a 100% with about half of what Ron Paul says. He is absolutly correct when it comes to returning to the government our founders created. I would love to see the day when enough people in this county leave the Republican party (and hopefully the Democrat party) to destroy the Republicrat monopoly on our political system. But there are too many cry babies on the left that want the government to solve all of our social problems with tax money. And too many Republicrat politicians eager to comply with them.

Women, Blacks and Gays,

Women, Blacks and Gays, eh?  What an insult to women and Blacks.

Besides, it was the Democrats who instituted the Jim Crow laws, and there was plenty of sexism to go around.

This is just more lies from the lying scum-bag Democrats.
