This was posted yesterday on the open thread, but it bears repeating.

Harvard has set aside specific gym times for Muslim women.  Far from prejudice, I think some places are bending over backwards to accommodate them.

Perhaps if millions of Muslims weren't dedicated to killing Americans, they would have stood up for her.

While I don't hate muslims, I do maintain a healthy skepticism as to the general view that they have toward the West, and specifically, America.

As has been discussed on this site, too many exceptions are being carved out for muslims, whether it is special hours at the Harvard gym for women, or rules that allow muslim cabbies to refuse service at the Minneappolis Airport.

Of course, the muslim women are still better off going to a coffee shop in America than in Saudi Arabia, where they face arrest for being in the presence of males to whom they are not related.

Since this is a site dedicated to criticism of media practice, I will agree that  manufactured news is abhorrent. This story is not unlike the gas tanks that blew up when subjected to a detonating charge.

Wow. ABC, in its infinite wisdom, has shown me the light of my bigotry.

As the story says, the Czech Stop is a very busy bakery located in West, Texas. VERY busy. It has almost a cult following among the more die-hard fans. I always thought it was over-rated, the goods being only marginally worth the price they charge, but my wife seems to enjoy it. We almost always stop when traveling from Dallas to San Antonio to visit her parents. It's a pretty good resting point, so we get some treats for ourselves and a few loaves of bread for her mom.

The town of West is a very small, southern, rural community. No doubt ABC thought they would have no trouble finding racism there. IIRC, didn't ABC already try to do this (or something similar) at a NASCAR rally? These actions speak more to the prejudice of the network employees that came up with this story than those they sought to entrap.

I'm surprised at the owners of The Czech Stop allowing their store to be used in such a manner. Now, I am advocate for a company being allowed to do business as it sees fit. I am also an advocate of consumers being allowed to patronize a business or not as they see fit. Because of their obvious disregard for and low opinion of their own customers, The Czech Stop will no longer get our business, or that of our families if I can help it. I plan to let the store owners know it, too. Besides, Pepperidge Farms has a store at the Outlet Mall in Hillsboro just down the road from West. I like their stuff better anyway, and I doubt that they have become so full of themselves from constant traffic that they would alienate their customers in such a manner.

I wonder if it occurred to ABC News that the locals who frequent the bakery may have known this was staged as they had never seen this type of behavior, or the actor portraying the sales clerk, before ABC News set it all up? Perhaps the locals resented being set up like that and refused to fall into their trap by walking away? That wouldn’t surprise me one bit, although it would seem to surprise ABC News.

The concept of "Islamophobia" is BS in the way it is being sold. It's very simple, Americans do not have an IRRATIONAL FEAR of Muslims, but many have a fear of IRRATIONAL MUSLIMS. There is a huge difference between the 2. I think the American people are smart enough to see the difference, I don't believe the MSM are honest enough to report on the difference.

ABC has squandered all good will, all integrity. They are completely worthless, and fail to measure up to the least of journalistic standards ... to report the news, not be the news.

This is exactly why I stopped watching T.V. news years ago.
