In another example of the belt-tightening of the old media, NBC has announced that they will be closing two of their long standing news bureaus. Gone will be the Chicago and Dallas bureaus to be replaced by "regional hubs."
TVNewser gives us the scoop:
Insiders tell TVNewser the current NBC News global news gathering system is in for an overhaul. Sources tell us a 9am ET conference call among News division execs and the bureau managers will announce that the current system will be replaced with regional hubs covering large areas of the U.S. and, in some cases, the world.
TVNewser reports that the Chicago office will now answer to the New York office and Dallas will report to Atlanta. No word on how many jobs are to be lost, but it is certain that some will go away.
This is one more example of the old MSM finding that their past experiences of spending with impunity is coming to an end. Television networks have been reassessing their commitments to the news of late and it is a sure bet that they aren't done yet.
It wouldn't surprise if any of the big nets decided to do without a news bureau altogether sometime soon.

So they would rather cut
February 14, 2008 - 13:17 ET by rbosqueSo they would rather cut jobs than actually cater to Amercians with pro-American news instead of cheering for socialists and other enemies of freedom? Speaks volumes.
2 down and I don't know how
February 14, 2008 - 13:17 ET by ConservativeRex2 down and I don't know how many more to go. I think the motto at NBC is "let's just cut our nose off, we'll show our face". They know what they have to do to change everything around for them, but they won't do it. They are so stuck in their ideology that their mind will not permit them to see a different view of our country. GOOD! To hell with 'em. They have ears but won't listen.
Downplaying the closing of
February 14, 2008 - 13:18 ET by Roger the ShrubberDownplaying the closing of a news bureau in the 3rd-largest metropolitan area in the country reminds me of an exchange from a classic movie:
Ian Faith: The Boston gig has been cancelled...
David St. Hubbins: What?
Ian Faith: Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's not a big college town.

The Media Secret
February 14, 2008 - 13:25 ET by Lame CherryBuried in the budgets of black operations or off book operations in the CIA and various padded intel agencies are media funding. What this means is the US Government has for a generation now funded the major media in part for return in leaked stories and promoting national policy.
These so called "non biased" MSM corporations have run overseas stations which at times were launch points for intelligence gathering and operations.
You know the biggest of names who were ushered into the hauls of power. Bob Novak works for the right wing leaks and Bob Woodward works intelligence for the left wing division to keep both sides reading and informed.
The reason the New York Times isn't prosecuted for treason is they are the leak source of the communists in the CIA.
With the "new methods" of intelligence gathering and station operations, the CIA so to speak as a collective term for all intel does not need the MSM any more except to float stories so they are not dumping millions of dollars to underwrite the "news divisions" which these networks once wasted money on to gain influence and power.
That is what is behind a great deal of these cutbacks as the major corporations in purchasing the MSM can afford their own and most of the operatives are leftists under the CFR umbrella, but you will notice a great number of the kooks like Brokaw and Rather got showed the door recently too.
In knowing that, it is always amusing to watch the non bias comments or see Bob Woodward claiming to be journalists. Bob Woodward is from a Naval intelligence family. He was chosen as an operative to bring down Richard Nixon. He has been the greatest propaganda chief of the globalists........more so than Pravda and Tass.
It would be so lovely to really crack the books of the MSM, their phone records and operational contracts as once that proof surfaced it would be quite egg on the face of the power elite in America.
Charlie Rose bought and paid for by the US Government, globalist divison of the Rockefeller New World Order..........probably won't see that on his PBS header, but just like Bill Moyers, Charlie Gibson, Bill Maher........that is where the covert funding originates.

The NBC cuts come the same day the NYTimes announced major job cuts from their newsroom. Hmmm.
