Fallen Hero Marine's Grave Desecrated in Texas -- Will MSM Cover it?

If this is how the memory of heroes gets treated in the U.S. today, then I wouldn't blame any U.S. soldier if they would stop caring about their own country -- not that any soldier has done so. I reported several months ago that a bunch of ignorant, ingrates in Colorado were trying to stop a memorial to a local hero from being erected where school kids could see the display. And now we have a story where a fallen Marine's grave is desecrated. Of course this report raises the question as to whether we will hear this story on the national news?

In fact, have we heard any story on the national news of our troops being mistreated once home by anyone other than our Veteran's Administration? In any case, it begs the questions; where is people's shame? Where is their patriotism? Where is their common decency? The Houston Chronicle reports that Marine Jeremy Burris' grave was desecrated in Liberty, Texas this week.

An all-American kid from a little all-American town, the 22-year-old Marine lance corporal died heroically in Iraq. More than a thousand people turned out Wednesday as a white hearse carried his body to burial in the historic 1800s Cooke Memorial Cemetery. Within hours, the grave was desecrated. About 30 sprays of flowers were ripped apart, petals strewn over the loose earth. Flags decorating the gravesite were also torn down and sentimental notes and posters shredded.

This young Marine is a true hero. He saved the lives of several people in the incident that took his own.

Burris was killed Oct. 8 by an explosive device in al-Anbar Province. Minutes before his death, he rescued two soldiers wounded when a device exploded under their military vehicle. When Burris returned to the vehicle to retrieve some sensitive equipment, another bomb detonated, killing him, his family said.

This sort of thing seems to be happening increasingly and my guess is that it isn't just kids out to be jerks, but an anti-war activist who has been driven insane by the hate that is spewed day in and day out by the left in the USA. We can only hope that the creeps that perpetrated this outrage are found and persecuted... not just prosecuted... but persecuted by all. They should be ostracized by polite, patriotic society. Folks, THIS is the anti-war left in action. Kudos to the Houston Chronicle for reporting this but where will the rest of the MSM be to report on it? I don't know about you, but I won't hold my breath.

I have stated before that Hillary Clinton to Bill Maher know very well the garbage rhetoric they produce is bogus and only meant for money and votes, but that is the problem is people like Cindy Sheehan and the kooks at Huffington like Steven Webber to Harry Shearer actually believe this garbage.

These liberals for power and ratings tell people who are easily swayed that soldiers rape and murder people. There are unbalanced people in this world and due to broken homes, aborticide throw away babies, dope and sex there are now millions of these creatures running around. The same zealots who are trashing graves can be found tomorrow chanting on Bill Maher's program, marching in a queer cheer nudie parade and later tuned into anti meat Paul McCartney and anti breeding animals Bob Barker.

This is a literally sick unculture who so hate themselves they are trying to pretty themselves with tattoos, jamming metal in themselves for piercings to mimic the hurts in their hearts and following Rosie O'Donnell and Charlie Sheen as the gospel according to Oprah.

I will bet a Newsbusters exclusive the profile on this mob is they had sex at a very early age, parents are too busy for them, they love Jimmy Carter and the Clintons, have watched Al Gore's film and consider the greatest threats to America as George Bush on Iraq and George Bush on global warming...........and they are either listening to an Air America or frequent some blog like Huffington Post.

These are not stupid people as it takes some intelligence but no working job to actually see a grave in the media, track it down in a fit of doped up courage and then trash it before they go home to a tofu cake and some weed to live healthy.

I believe in God's vengeance and this turn will not go unpunished by God, but then people like this God does not have to have the earth swallow up as they are already digging the hole they are in for a grave. God help them to repent, but in acting out they already left God, family and America behind years ago........and types like this will OD, suicide, get a disease or be murdered within 10 years. This flailing about on a grave is but a final journey to the place they are auditioning for.

I stopped getting the Houston Comical long ago. Of the local papers they were the more liberal of the two. The Houston Post being the... well, slightly less liberal. When the Post folded I got the Comical but utter disgust with most of the reporting made me realize that I was buying the paper only to read Bloom County, Calvin and Hobbes, and The Far Side, oh and a humor columnist named Ken Hoffman. Everything else was just silliness and tripe.

I applaud the Chronicle for giving this story it's proper due. It just has a long way to go to get back into my good graces.

I still like Ken Hoffman. For a while he was on the radio as the "liberal buddy" of the local morning conservative radio show with Pat Gray (and old pal of Glenn Beck) but both of them have since switched stations.

My guess, assuming they catch these cowards, is that it is a group of young kids, either high school or college age. Assuming this is the case, and assuming the MSM covers this at all, is that it was just a case of “misguided youths”.

And what about those billing records that showed up in the White House living quarters? She denies knowing anything about this? What a crock! Here's an interesting transcript from Ted Kopple on Nightline. Note one of the comments made regarding access to the area where the billing documents were found: "...one former White House official told us, 'You need a pass from God in order to be up there.' " This same transcript goes into a lot of areas, and points out how Hillary's story is always changing as one after another issues are brought up.

So, Jer, you're welcome to disagree with everything I say. But please note that what I'm saying comes straight from such sources as the Post and Ted Kopple. Now, if you're willing to suspend believe in those organizations on this topic, well then we have a whole other area of discussion, don't we?

Many of those out there today in the extreme left were coming of age during the Clinton years. Those years were full of "do whatevery you want, legal or illegal, because in the end, crime DOES pay." Or how about "If anyone tries to prevent you from doing whatever you want, legal or illegal, they are an eveil conservative devil". I said it then, and I say it now. The ideals of people coming of age at that time were formed in large part by the examples set by the immoral and unethical leadership of this country at that time. Those seeds are now bearing fruit.

Just for example, I remember trying to be made to feel like if I didnt care that Pedro on the Real World had AIDS, that I was some kind of heartless monster. I remember all those stupid ribbons and that quilt and the marches and countless other things that went on to raise "awareness" for their cause. And I'm thinking, stop screwing around and you could wipe this thing out in no time.

As for as the military, there were a few kids (small town, small school) that were absolutly appalled that we had to take the ASVAB test. One in particular just "couldnt understand why anyone would want to go serve in such a barbaric thing as the military." I remember the soldiers and recruits being looked down upon by them and by plenty of famous people, and thinking, these men and women serve so you assholes can live the way you want to live. I remember in speech class giving a descriptive speech about some of my granddads army stuff from WWII and how proud I was to have it. I remember this same kid rolling his eyes and saying that kind of stuff was innappropriate these days because we had evolved beyond the need for wars. I remember telling him that if my granddad and thousands of others hadnt defeated the Nazis that he more than likely wouldnt be here because he didnt have blue eyes, blonde hair, and was of questionable sexuality. Most everybody applauded with me, although I did get in a little trouble for basically outing him, like we all didnt know, lol.

As a Viet vet I and fellow veterans had to live through the hatred and stupidity of the lefoid idiots. It's coming again; the portrayal of our troops as "baby killers", "criminals", "drug addicts" and "mentally crippled" from PTSD etc in the media which was a myth then and a myth now. During the time of Vietnam the sheeple in this country went along with this assessment to a degree due to the lefty MSM philosophy/strategy of telling a lie loud and often will make it true after a while (Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite et al). I do recall being called a fascist and baby killer while in college (as they knew I was a veteran) and while in uniform being surrounded by a bunch of hippie scum in Denver airport and shouted and spit at. Fighting for this country is probably harder after a soldier comes home and I never quite forgave the public for their passive, mostly unwitting complicity in these lies.

I don't know if it was Burkett (who wrote Stolen Valour) or if it was Stolen Valour (sorry, I have yet to read the whole book) that addressed the media - post-Vietnam - that made a point of labeling perpetrators of crimes and violence as "Vietnam Veteran(s)" ... and through an intensive research and study of each individual case the author found many, if not most, of those "Vietnam Veteran(s)" claims were bogus. That some of the men had not even been shipped to Vietnam, or if so, had NOT seen battle ... some even having been discharged under less than admirable circumstances. That our true veterans were not having massive mental short circuits when back home in the states, contrary to what the media was portraying ...

1) While we can speculate the reasoning behind the media doing this then, and apparently now, let us keep in mind the TRUE lesson learned from Vietnam was NEVER AGAIN! Never again will the people of this country who stayed safely behind, tucked safely and comfortably in their clean sheets and hot meals and color TV, allow others, including the media, to do this S#!T to our military ever again!

2) ahusser - from a grown woman who was but a kid when Vietnam was in full action, I DID see the TV coverage and magazine coverage ... and was able to step outside my pre-teen self-centered world for those crushing moments and feel love, compassion, fear, and hope for our military busting their asses over in that war. Maybe it was because my Uncle, my Mom's older brother, was a Marine Officer serving tours in Vietnam that I was more aware and sensitive ... maybe it was my human nature.

Over the following years I watched as POWs returned home, emaciated and nearly crippled from abuse (some being carried off on stretchers) ... My tears of compassion quickly turned to tears of bursting pride as I watched those who could manage to drop to their knees and kiss the tarmac before reaching their families. THAT was a huge lesson to me, and others I suspect, of no matter how bad you think you have it here, you don't realize just how good and blessed it really is until it's gone from under your feet ...

The thing that has always made me the saddest when I hear about a soldier's death is that there are so many for whom our soldiers are fighting who are not worthy of the freedoms others have died or risked death to preserve.

What makes these men and women heroes is that even though they know that they will probably never receive the appreciation they deserve, and might even be desecrated by unworthy losers, they still put their lives on the line anyway.

Warner is making the argument that this story will not be picked up by the national news b/c the national news has NEVER covered any stories concerning troops being mistreated once home by anyone other than the Veterans administration. The insinuation of course being that the MSM doesn't care about the troops.

However, Warner is wrong in his argument b/c there is ample evidence of the national news covering the mistreatment of soldiers once home, most notably, God Hates Fags.

At the Tucson airport, people were used to seeing this sight and about a quarter of the people flying that day were either in ACU or in the USAF BDU uniform. People were used to it.

Upon landing in SF INternational I could feel a definite change as the eyes of the locals waiting for flights bored into me.

I had a couple of fellow travellers (All from outside of the Bay area, just transiting through) come up to me and ask freindly questions of me as to where I was coming from and going. More than one asked to shake my hand.

A few minutes later I had a 60 year old woman approach me and ask for my opinion of the GWOT. She was in fact not interested in my opinion, she was just using it as a pretext to raise hell with me on "Fascist Government Policies" and ask why I would be willing to fight for my country. I found out she was a long term resident of SF and that she was waiting for a flight to LA.

I have not been spit on lately, but hostility comes in many forms.

Because I was there about a month ago and I didn't even see a single protestor. In fact, most of the people I saw all over the city were tourists.

Not sure where all these un-patriotic sanfranciscans were hanging out.

As for the wacko part, I can't deny that. The homeless situation is out of control over there. But I don't see what schizophrenic bums have to do with patriotism.

...I would have to classify CCCO as a "lefty" organization. And the poster does seem to represent the idea that the military is all about death, i.e., murder.

I love how they complain that Malkin calls the poster racist, while the fine print on it invites students to "Find out... the real deal...on... racism" in the military.
