Hiding behind a fake company name, Planned Parenthood came into Aurora, Illinois, a suburban Chicago neighborhood, and built an abortion clinic without telling the city of Aurora that it was to be an abortion clinic. Yet, all the news about this story is centering on the pro-abortion/pro-life debate instead of Planned Parenthood's lies. This story has been going on for a few days in Aurora, Illinois. It seems Planned Parenthood told a teeny, tiny white lie to the City Planning Board of Aurora about what use a new building they were constructing near a residential neighborhood would be put to. In fact, they even misled city officials as to who they even were, and those officials are none too happy about it.
The city granted a building permit to a company called Gemini Office Development LLC to build what was being called a “medical office building.” It turns out, however, that Gemini Office Development LLC is actually a shell company for Planned Parenthood and this new building was not going to be just a regular, non-descript “medical office building” but a Planned Parenthood abortion mill, instead. Curiously, Planned Parenthood neglected to tell the city of its plans until the building was complete and they were ready to open for business.
Naturally, the community is a tad upset that they were lied to.
On a radio interview this morning, an Aurora city councilman was upset that the abortion advocates would build an abortion clinic near a residential community when such clinics often bring dangerous conditions with them. After all, says the councilman, when they build these facilities they use bullet proof glass and try to make them bomb proof, so obviously they know that their facilities have the potential to bring danger to the community.
Aurora officials raced to get an injunction to stop the clinic from being opened while they investigate the fraud by which the clinic was contracted, built, licensed and zoned.
Naturally, this is shaping up to be an epic battle between the Pro-Life Action League and Planned Parenthood and most coverage (like the Chicago Tribune) is focused on that aspect of the story.
But, as I point out, it seems to me a major aspect of this story is the fact that Planned Parenthood LIED to everyone in a neighborhood of which they wish to become a part.
Questions remain: if an abortion clinic is so “needed” and wanted, why did they have to LIE to open one? Why the hiding behind a dummy company to get the city planning board to allow it to be built?
Worse, why is Planned Parenthood building a facility that they know will disrupt the community and might cause danger to the same people they claim to want to serve? And why chose a suburban location in a residential area when they know that their presence will disrupt the community? And why isn't the media focusing on these lies told by Planned Parenthood to get their agenda past the city planning boards?
Of course, we know the answer to that. They instinctively know that they aren’t wanted in the community and they have to appear by stealth to get their agenda through.
Do lies make for good neighbors? Planned Parenthood doesn’t seem to care if they do or not. The community doesn’t matter a whit to them. Only their agenda does.

September 18, 2007 - 10:25 ET by QueasyThere is a chain of adult video stores in the Atlanta area that used the same tactic. They would get the permits to build/lease a building under the pretense they were opening one kind of business and then they would turn around and open an adult video store instead.
Kind of hard for me to want to take my kid to the theater near our house that has one of these adult chains because I don't want my son to read the signs that says, "Buy two adult videos and get a dildo for free!"

September 18, 2007 - 10:55 ET by jweaverThe inheriently untruthful ways that Planned Parenthood goes about its business should shock all of us, but the real issues get sidetracked with the silliness of the abortion debates. Silly simply because no matter what you do or vote for this is a matter that resides in the judiciary. I have learned that abortion politics is simply a wedge issue to divide us while the courts keep the power we argue of the issues, but ultimately it takes the Supreme court to return this issue to the people.

just the facts ma'am
September 18, 2007 - 15:43 ET by TruthMongerTake your pick:
murder
n. the killing of a human being by a sane person, with intent, malice aforethought (prior intention to kill the particular victim or anyone who gets in the way) and with no legal excuse or authority. In those clear circumstances, this is first degree murder. By statute, many states consider a killing in which there is torture, movement of the person before the killing (kidnapping) or the death of a police officer or prison guard, or it was as an incident to another crime (as during a hold-up or rape), to be first degree murder, with or without premeditation and with malice presumed. Second degree murder is such a killing without premeditation, as in the heat of passion or in a sudden quarrel or fight. Malice in second degree murder may be implied from a death due to the reckless lack of concern for the life of others (such as firing a gun into a crowd or bashing someone with any deadly weapon). Depending on the circumstances and state laws, murder in the first or second degree may be chargeable to a person who did not actually kill, but was involved in a crime with a partner who actually did the killing or someone died as the result of the crime. Example: In a liquor store stick-up in which the clerk shoots back at the hold-up man and kills a bystander, the armed robber can be convicted of at least second degree murder. A charge of murder requires that the victim must die within a year of the attack. Death of an unborn child who is "quick" (fetus is moving) can be murder, provided there was premeditation, malice and no legal authority. Thus, abortion is not murder under the law. Example: Jack Violent shoots his pregnant girlfriend, killing the fetus. Manslaughter, both voluntary and involuntary, lacks the element of malice aforethought.

Sorry guys. It seems PP DID contact someone in the City back in FEBRUARY. The guy now works IN THE MAYOR'S OFFICE. At the time, he said he told people in the mayor's office AND the City Council that PP was moving in.
This is from the Beacon News: "But city staffers now say that a Planned Parenthood representative did
contact the city earlier this year, using the company's more familiar
name, and spoke with then-Community Development Director Bill Wiet. Wiet, who was named chief of staff to Mayor Tom Weisner in June, called
all of the city aldermen last week to tell them his story. He has also
shared it with attorney Phillip Luetkehans, the man conducting an
independent investigation of Planned Parenthood's approval process."
OOPS! Someone is going to take the fall for this since legal papers were filed by the City stating the opposite. Of course, if you knew the City attorney...oh well, nevermind...

September 19, 2007 - 10:17 ET by GrannyGrump42If just one person doesn't want a fetus, that warrants an immediate, tax-funded death sentence.
If an entire community doesn't want an abortion mill in their back yard, too bad.
And to make matters worse, the fetus doesn't choose to be in anybody's womb. Whereas Planned Parenthood went in willingly where they knew they'd not be wanted.
