Daily Kos Week in Review: The Right Is Red, 'Amer Rouge'

Another week, another version of the Daily Kos meme about Republicans preparing to launch a genocidal rampage. This time, a Kossack asserted that conservative activists collectively should be called the "Amer Rouge" since they're "bloodthirsty, cruel, and increasingly deranged" and, given the chance, would carry out mass murder of their political opponents just as the real Khmer Rouge did in Cambodia in the mid- and late 1970s.

As usual, each headline is preceded by the blogger's name or pseudonym.

arendt: Grover Norquist = Pol Pot

...I propose a new metaphor for the bloodthirsty, cruel, and increasingly deranged right wing cadres, funded by the Koch Brothers, who are waging a civil war against the American government, the American worker, American women, and American minorities: the Amer Rouge. The Amer Rouge is the rightwing equivalent of the "fundamentalist communist" Khmer Rouge...The Amer Rouge takes the inverted Marxism of the hard core financial fundamentalist to an extreme, and adds Christianist theocracy to the mix...

Is not their absolute unwillingness to compromise, even in the face of losing the election, a mark of fanatics and fundamentalists? Are they not engaged in scorched earth tactics against taxes, unions and women wherever they win an election: Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Florida?...

While most of the Amer Rouge cadre are bone-ignorant thugs and religiously-indoctrinated zampolits with an overlay of brutal cleverness, the leadership of the Amer Rouge has a few highly-educated fanatics. Case in point, Harvard-educated Grover Norquist - an extremist of the first magnitude. Also, someone thought Tom Coburn was educated enough to become an M.D....

The Amer Rouge have a nativist, xenophobic, and racist program similar to the Khmer Rouge. Their constant demonization of Moslems, minorities, and homosexuals would certainly escalate to execution if they came to power...

Bill in Portland Maine: Limbaugh fans = Saddam loyalists

...Nine years ago today, members of the 4th Infantry Division's 1st Brigade found Saddam Hussein stinking up a "spider hole" near Tikrit...

...Ever wonder who dug the spider hole that Hussein hid inside?  Well, meet Alaa Namiq.  He has a bad case of blind hero worship when it comes to Saddam.  Gee, I wonder how that happens.  Any ideas, Limbaugh dittoheads?...

Kos: Tea Party withdrawal would be a win-win

...[Matt] Taibbi suggests that Sen. Jim DeMint's sudden resignation is symptomatic of the tea party's "we're taking our ball and going home" mentality. And if true, it would make everyone happy. We'd be happy because fuck the tea party. The Republican Party establishment would be happy because fuck the tea party too—those assholes cost the GOP a Senate majority. And the teabaggers would be happy because they could remain pure and unsullied by reality and facts...

Kos: Ridicule is liberals' weapon of choice

...We don't shoot people we don't like. We're not conservatives.

We just point and laugh at them...

MinistryOfTruth: Republicans promote a grand illusion

...Tricking white people into blaming brown people, socialism and government conspiracies for all the misery rich white people are causing them has never been easier in the era of Fox News. Every time a Republican blames socialism for his woes Roger Ailes celebrates by eating one of those wriggling things Jabba the Hut keeps in a jar near his throne...

Mitt Romney lost because he was a rich guy who openly planned to rob the working class with his trusted conservative Fox News David Koch approved sidekick, Granny McStarverton...

...Every Republican I have ever met is a scab for the Oligarchy...

...[W]hat is the Republican party today other than the wealthiest 400 families in America and the least informed, whitest, most reality adverse base of knuckle dragging Neanderthals since that time Mr. Slate tricked Barney Rubble and the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes Lodge # 26 into running him for Mayor of Bedrock...
