Daily Kos Week in Review: Natural Born Killers and Eaters

By Tom Johnson | July 14, 2012 | 07:26

A  A

Many on the left believe that conservative policies are at least indirectly lethal, but this week one Kossack imputed additional depravity to right-wingers when he likened them to the best-known group of cannibals in American history.

As usual, each headline is preceded by the blogger's name or pseudonym.

Troubadour: Republicans kill people...

The legacy of Republican policies and obstruction of progress kills far more Americans every year than al Qaeda...[W]hile no one will dispute the level of stupidity among Republicans, the fact is they know the consequences of their actions and just don't give a shit.  If there were a button they could press that would end a random life and put one more cent in their bank account, they wouldn't stop pressing it until the very moment it impacted the economic value of the money they receive...

...We treat their inhumanity like a legitimate difference of opinion to be debated with them while they enslave us, eradicate the middle-class that challenges their hereditary privilege, and kill the non-wealthy aged and ill whom they find economically inconvenient...

...Why do we respond differently to the death of a family member due to lack of healthcare than we would if a Republican simply walked up and put a bullet in their head?...These people are evil, and they know and are proud of it.

No foreign enemy assaults this country with more vigor and more effect; no microbial pathogen infects and destroys with the same constant determination; no other malignant parasite devours its own future with the same enthusiasm; no Mafia family engages in criminal conspiracies on the same level and with such impunity as the Republican "Party"...

Alex Budarin: ...and (figuratively) devour them

...It hasn’t been a 100-year conspiracy of progressives to create a “socialist utopia.”  It is the result of a progressive, pragmatic evolution of human relations...[T]he majority of us do not subscribe to the Donner Party ethics of contemporary conservatism...

Trenz Pruca: Loser white guys are quintessential right-wingers

...[W]hite males from the middle and lower classes especially in the mid-West and the South...persist in their decline from the economic and social backbone of our nation to become hate-filled failures in life spewing venom born of their frustration and ignorance upon those who have begun to supplant them.

And, if truth be known, they chose this path...

This group that has chosen to be left behind are the heart and soul of the modern conservative movement...

occams hatchet: Repeal or be haunted

...The Republicans are well and truly f#*ked. They HAVE TO repeal "Obamacare."

Here's why:

Unless the Republicans can erase from the public record all vestiges of the Affordable Care Act, they will have to spend the rest of their lives - literally, the rest of their lives - hearing Americans refer to their medical insurance plans as "Obamacare"...

Yes, that's right: The man the neoracist oligarchic xenophobic tribal other-haters want to light their hair on fire about will be named every time anyone in their gott-blessid United States of Amrka mentions health insurance...

bfrederk: The Founders' vision is obsolete

We can govern ourselves in the exact way the Founders intended, or we can adequately govern an interdependent 21st century society. We cannot do both...

Limited government in the 21st century means our food will not be safe. It means that college will be unaffordable for millions. It means that 50 million people will not have health insurance. It means that an unregulated Wall Street can tank the global economy...

...The Teapublicans are building a bridge to the 19th century...

Oy, why do I read this insane

Submitted by ant on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 8:24am.

Oy, why do I read this insane drivel? Troubador, please start taking your meds, you're getting sicker, and you're cliched libtarded view of what a conservative is is/always has been tiring. What a bunch of angry little freaks. I could gleam more intelligence and insight reading the diaries of people who've lost their mind on LSD and angel-dust.

The Daily Kos must be an experiment to find out at what point stupidity and drama achieve critical mass.

I'm too old for treatment

Submitted by cocodrie on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 8:42am.

I'm too old for treatment if I get sick under Obamadontcare so I suppose I'll just have to exit this world when the democrats show me the door.

Those fifty million without health care, would that be the fifty million AMERICANS violently murdered by democrats on the altar of abortion?

I must be one of those frustrated ignorant people who want to work, keep my wages to use for the benefit of my family, and not be ruled by a filthy liberal dictator.

No life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for us under the domination of the democrat party.

Holy cow!!! Watch out!

Submitted by needle on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 8:47am.

We all know that Liberals project all their faults and failing all the time. In general it is merely a da*n annoyance; but this article merits flashing red lights and loud sirens.

BTW, How many millions of people were killed in Russia and China by Socialist (= liberals) or in Nazi Germany by Fascist (= Progressives = Liberals)? Or by totalitarians (= Liberals' soul mates) in general during the past century? Or by euthanasia last year in Liberal Great Britain alone? (ans: 137,000, to free up hospital beds)

It appears that the Liberals are laying the psychological groundwork in preparation for ObamaCare.

- Looking forward to the self-annihilation of the Manipulated Stories Machine.

Time Machine

Submitted by Netstatter on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 10:06am.

Hey, H.G. Wells must have seen it coming! In "The Time Machine" humans become two separate species, the Morlock and the Eloi. Maybe the Conservatives become one and the Liberals become another? Given how the Liberals like to herd people and enjoy being in the dark, maybe they are the Morlocks.

Regarding The Daily Kos, maybe it's time a bunch of Conservatives get accounts over there and begin to quietly, logically, with facts and good will, give posts intended to educate those Kossacks.

They do a daily open thread

Submitted by Shreve on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 10:24am.

They do a daily open thread thing where one of the first comments is how all these new people are joining and why they're joining. They seem to think it's some weird right-wing conspiracy when it probably just their sign up mechanism sucks at weeding out spammers.

The "loser white guy" meme repeated ad nauseam.

Submitted by drsamherman on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 12:45pm.

Trenz Pruca must be either a self-loathing man or man-hating lesbian or gender indeterminate to use such an idiotic description about what is the truth of this recession. It has hit everybody equally, and the highest rates of unemployment are not amongst Caucasians but African-Americans and Latinos. Of course, facts are too inconvenient for an asexual closet case like Trenz. It is easier for it to lash out at those it blames for all of society's woes than to face up to the failure of the president it helped elect to do anything for those minority communities which Duh Won keeps screeching that he supports.

I'm sure Trenz probably sits in its mommy's basement at night, angry that its four-year degree in lesbian basket-weaving psychoanthropology is meaningless in today's job market and blames all those white men for "victimizing" it.

Something tells me that Zoloft alone would not treat that. I would definitely have to add a heavy dose of carbamazepine just to stabilize the stupidity. Carbamazepine turns off the fixations, obsessions and delusions quite nicely when combined with an atypical antipsychotic.
