AP Relays Dems' Press Release on Charlotte 'Celebration' Move; Bloomberg Revealed Likely Reason (Money) Hours Earlier
The stenographers at the Associated Press, aka the Administration's Press, were apparently only too glad to relay the spin about the Monday night decision by organizers of the Democratic National Convention to move a "celebration" on September 3 from the Charlotte Motor Speedway to an unspecified (in the coverage) location in downtown Charlotte.
The AP's virtual press release follows the jump, after which I'll excerpt an item from Bloomberg a few hours ago containing the probable real explanation for the move -- money.
Here is the AP's story (time stamp is Mountain time, the same as 11:10 p.m. ET):

Here is Bloomberg's heads-up from two hours earlier that the convention is having some problems -- 27 million of 'em:

Looks like things moved a lot faster than Bloomberg thought they would.
The coronation appears not to be proceeding according to plan.
I'm sure nobody at AP had any idea that money was an issue. (/sarc)
One wonders if the Dems are simply planning to hold the downtown "celebration" outside and saddle Charlotte with the costs of police protection and the like -- or is that too cynical?

Coming soon--the speech at the football stadium changed
Submitted by JeffC... on Tue, 06/26/2012 - 12:55am.
The press release and the MSM will claim that the move from BofA Stadium to Time Warner Arena is due to the possibility of bad weather and the desire of Obama to give his speech in a more intimate venue where he's closer to the people.
The reality will be that fundraising is so far off that they can't pay for any Greek columns or stadium lighting, they don't want The One to give his speech in a more-than-half-empty football stadium, and some financial scandal involving BofA in August in which the bank appears to have screwed a lot of people and/or gotten a lot of money from the government.

They should just hold everything down on the Southern Border ...I hear its safer then ever these days!
That way they can simultaneously hand out voter registration to all those "migrant workers" they so desperately need help from. Or if as few people as we anticipate show up, they can just skip across themselves and try to claim political asylum.

The propaganda media and ethics should never be mentioned in the same sentence.
They have given up any idea of honest reporting (if they knew what that was) and have become the Obama Public Relations firm. They provide cover and distraction services for the most inept administration in the last 100 years.
It is all they know to do, their liberal agenda has been exposed as a absolute failure in every situation and have nothing else but to justify that the agenda is right but that the execution is wrong. Their egos and limited mental capability will not allow them to see the truth.
I don't believe the numbers

The poll numbers that is. They are covering this guy and big. He's crashing and burning like the anti-Walker forces and the anti-ammendment folks in North Carolina and they're going to protect him until the day after.
Let's hope he crashes and burns

Even if Obama loses in November, and I hope he does, he will still be their 'go-to' guy for the rest of forever when it comes to getting an opinion on anything political.
Mr President Obama, you've been out of office for 2 weeks now, how badly has Romney screwed things up so far?
And on and on it will go.
I'll enjoy it.

Every interview would be a reminder he was thrown out. At least Big Mouth Bubba Clinton rests in the fact he was twice elected.

Some perspective...
During the Primaries for the 1980 election, Jimmy Carter was leading the field by 25%. Yes, 25%! What was Obama up over the Mitt/Newt/Rick/Ron/Herman field? About 2-4%, if he was up at all.
In October, a little over a month out of the election, Carter led Reagan by 8 on a 47% to 39% split.
Just weeks before the election polling indicated it was too close to call, with the two basically in a dead heat leapfrogging eachother for the lead.
Reagan won by 10 points, 51% to 41% (with a third-ticket RINO taking an additional 7%)
So what do the numbers look like on Obama? Its about 45-48 Romney to 43-45 Obama in the Likely Voter polls.
Carter, the guy who was in the 59% "approval" range only months out of that election, was trounced.
Why is that though? Well people are reluctant to give give up on others until its just too late for them to turn around, and those who are "undecided" on a sitting president this close to the election are not going to vote for that President. Bush43 is the only sitting President ever to gain any of the undecideds, and he gained merely 1% of the 8 or so undecideds.
So look at that polling split once again. Today Rasmussen has it at 47% Romney, 45% Obama. Even if you give Obama a point of the undecided/other, you are looking at anywhere between 49-56% Romney% to just 46% Obama. And that is the Best Case Obama can hope for! In a worst case, his polling tanks directly prior to the election to show the last-chance plummet his enthusiasm gap indicates. That happens, and he might be lucky to get 41% himself.
I see all the polling, and it just isnt close at all in my eyes. And yes, that even means the individual state races. Look at some of the battlegrounds
Ohio - Romney 46%, Obama 44%, 5% Undecided, 6% other - thats at least 51% Romney to 44% Obama
N.C. - Romney 47%, Obama 44%, 6% Undecided, 3% other - thats at least 53% Romney to 44% Obama
Mich - Romney 46%, Obama 47%, 4% Undecided, 3% other - thats at least 50% Romney to 47% Obama
And to top it all off, the Generic Congressional polls are averaging 45% Republican to 39% Democrat - a gap extremely similar to the one seen right before the 2010 Republican Landslide.
This will not be a pretty election for Democrats
No no no

The Democrats are going to serve baked beans on paper plates in the rain, and claim they're the party of budget cuts and thrift. Everything about the GOP convention will be described as lavish and excessive, and you'll know the price of Ann Romney's wardrobe down to the penny.
