Crass Obama Campaign 'Event Registry' Barely Registers Any Establishment Press Coverage
This one of the most obvious "if the shoe were on the other foot" items I've seen in some time.
If a Republican or conservative presidential candidate's campaign ever dared to suggest that supporters register their wedding, graduation, or other event so they could then ask friends and family to make donations to the candidate's election efforts in lieu of a gift, the ridicule wouldn't stop for the next year -- and, I should add, deservedly so. But the Obama Event Registry (Obama-Biden blog post here; HT Weasel Zippers), which has been out there for about 48 hours, has barely made an establishment press ripple. What follows is a graphic from the blog post, followed by its first four outraged comments, showing that the idea is not getting a warm, uh, reception.

A Google News search on "Obama event registry" (not in quotes, sorted by date, with duplicates) at 10 a.m. ET today returned only 28 items, with only about a half-dozen coming from establishment press sources (the first results page leads one to think that there are thousands of listings, but there aren't).
In lieu of contributions to Obama 2012, I'll suggest that readers make their own, uh, "contributions" in comment form below.

When your kid gets punished by a teacher for misbehaving at school, you donate 10% of the proceeds of the lawsuit against the teacher to His Down with Bullies Fund?

That has indeed got to be one of THE most tacky, greedy and selfish things Obama has ever done. Telling everyone in the country that they should stop giving presents to their loved ones and their worthless relatives, and just give the money straight to HIM.
His foul wife is equally greedy, pigging herself on tax dollars so she can go on mega shopping sprees and lavish European vacations. If they were half as righteous as they're pretending to be, they would go live in a mud hut or a wigwam and eat only tree bark and dirt, just like they expect everyone else in the US to do.
