AP Searches on Trayvon Martin: One Vague Quote About Bounty, No Mention of New Black Panthers
A search on Travyvon Martin's name (not in quotes) at the Associated Press's main national site at 7 p.m. returned 37 items.
A search on "Trayvon Martin bounty" (also not in quotes) returned one item. Here is the relevant section of the related story by Jennifer Kay and Errin Haines, way down in Paragraphs 13 and 14:
A spokeswoman for the Maitland mortgage risk-management firm where (George) Zimmerman reportedly works, Digital Risk, said she couldn't confirm anything about Zimmerman's employment, but that he had not been at work since the shooting.
"Our utmost concern is for the safety of our employees, specifically based on the potential turmoil that could arise from the recent announcement of a bounty for his capture," Brandie Young said Saturday.
The article gives no indication as to the source of "the recent announcement of a bounty for his capture" -- and also note that the Kay and Haines chose to quote someone else about it, not report is as a fact themselves.
Two other searches done at the AP's national site on "Trayvon Panthers" and "Trayvon Panther" (each not in quotes) come up empty.
In case you missed it, on Saturday the New Black Panthers "offered a $10,000 bounty for the capture of George Zimmerman."
It appears that the Essential Global News Network wants that news to be kept from as many people as possible.

they are accusing the right of making up horrible stories about Trayvon. Because the school gave some weak explanation of a 10 day suspension because Trayvon was in an unauthorized area that has to be true (even anyone with a high school student knows there's way more to it than that), and even if he did smoke some dope he didn't deserve to be killed for it.
That might be true, but there's more to Trayvon than a kid walking into the wrong area of a school and getting high once in awhile, and they know it.

LOL, instead of committing homicide, I moved instead. It seemed like the lesser of 2 evils at the time and I like my new place better anyway. So it's all good. I do hope to move to out to the country eventually, as I like peace and quiet, animals, horse and buggies (lots of Amish around here in Northeast Indiana), and rednecks, not neccessarily in that order.

I'm not taking anyone's side because I wasn't there and don't know what happened. I don't want to let internet websites form my opinion as to what either Martin or Zimmerman were like, because websites are full of inaccuracies. I couldn't help but notice the picture of Martin and all those gold teeth! That's a lot of expensive dental work for a seventeen year old. So I did a minimum amount of research and found this website: ThugFashion.com.
I have no clue if those teeth are real or fake, but if I had to guess, I would guess fake. Let's see how this plays out.

A main issue of concern that I haven't heard anything about is what was Martin doing in the neighborhood? Sure, anybody has a right to be walking around on the public streets. But is this neighborhood close to Martin's house? Is this neighborhood close to where Martin was staying for some reason? I haven't seen a story yet that gives any credibility to why Martin was there, or how he got there.

As you say, it may have had a manned security point, but it could also have an automated gate.
Many apartment complexes have automated gates, with a pass code....and that is not very secure at all....people give out the codes to their friends, etc.
If Martin was staying with his father's girlfriend, he was an official guest, I'd imagine.

It seems Martin was an emerging hoodlum....burglary tools, jewelry, a Twitter handle to make one shudder, along with some very gangsta tweets.
So the story Zimmerman told seems to be supported by all these facts. The most likely scenario, to me, is Zimmerman's, not the made-up "he got gunned down in cold blood" that is being spun like blood-money gold.
Of course, the liberals and race baiters don't care about the facts (I saw one liberal on facebook get her hoodie in good order to go to a rally, ug!).

What really got me was when I saw an article about this on another website (I think it was CNS) and people in the comments were trying to say "The Black Panthers don't want the guy dead, they just want him arrested."

I actually started outlining an essay on race over the weekend which I planned to post some time this week--perhaps at a forum, or maybe on one of the existing threads. Now, I'm not so sure I'll go ahead with it.
In any event, my positions in some areas of that subject might come as a surprise to a lot of folks--but maybe not to those who are familiar with certain past comments I have made which have touched on racial issues and race relations in America.

that dKos comments are quoted at NewsBusters. WZ's format, moreover, exhibits a clear penchant for posting brief, provocative clips, references, or "news" items [with links] which serve as a trigger for the resident slime merchants to peddle their repugnant, unfiltered bilge--always prominently featured on the first page where it's difficult to ignore, and appears to be an integral part of the overall weaselzipper experience.

I'm not sure, but I don't think there are contributors per se. Just Zip and the commenters [of which PatriotWarMonger would be one of the latter.]

The Obama campaign has now offered Obama 'hoodies' for sale on their website..................I guess so that everyone can look like 'Obama's son'. And I saw a photo of this guy when he was younger, and he could have passed for Obama's son!!! I'm just wonderin' (Obamaspeak) why all of these other 'black' kids who get gunned down in the inner cities (by other 'blacks) don't qualify as lookin' like Obama's son.

I think it's a matter of culture. As long as it's kept inside the community, it will be dealt with from inside the community. A minor example is the use of the N word. As long as it's restricted to the "culture", it's fine. I don't think the MSM wants to even put a focus on black-on-black crime for the fear that they will be labeled racist. It's so perverse it's amazing.

Boy Baraka is not proud of his 'whiteness', and he has written about it. He used to be proud of his Kenyan and moooooooooooooooslem heritage, but that has backfired on him, so they've been keeping that one on the down-low, especially with 'his last election' coming up. But he's still got his 1/8 'blackness' to tout - although he only uses his 'blackness' when it suits his political advantage.
Personally, I'm an equal-opportunity 'hater', and I 'hate' ALL of Boy Baraka's races, creeds, colors, religions, and sexual orientations.....................and I'm very selective about my reasons for doing so.

And, as usual, he's his perfectly rational, coherent self. I saw him on Fox News earlier, and the only thing I can say is, there's a congressional district that's missing it's idiot. And, this was at the dem's summit of aggrieved groups, the Congressional Black, Hispanic, Asian Pacific American and Progressive Caucuses.
Now that pResident O is on board, the LSM will be trying, with all it's might, to bury any reference to Trayvon's recent past. Or, his twitter feed, or what happened that night in Florida. The local stations and fish wrap around here won't even run the pics of Trayvon at 17, they still run the one of the 12 year old kid.
