Union Election Requires Photo ID; Politico Fails to Note Irony
On Wednesday, the Politico ran a story about the International Association of Machinists Union at Boeing agreeing to approve a contract extension, the result of which ultimately led to the National Labor Relations Board dropping its controversial decision to prevent the company from beginning to operate a mostly-constructed plant in South Carolina.
Though it deserves separate commentary, that decision is not the subject of this post. What is germane at the moment is the howler of a photo accompanying the Politico's report which appears after the jump.
Here it is:

You're not seeing things.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has given 99% of its campaign money to Democrats (according to ElectionLawCenter.com, citing OpenSecrets.org). Democrats, including Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder, who will be in Austin, Texas tomorrow supporting the rejection of voter-ID laws and, according to the Texas GOP, "NAACP plans to involve the United Nations on (sic) US elections," abhor the idea of making voters bring some form of photo identification to the polls.
Yet the IAM in the instance photographed required a photo ID of all who wished to vote in a contract ratification election. From the looks of the professionally made sign, the photo-ID requirement in the union's elections would appear to be far from an isolated instance. Gosh, I wonder why?
Doug Ross's reaction: "Needle on Hypocrisy-Meter Breaks Off."
At some point during all these years of covering the voter-ID issue, you would think that someone in the press, much of which is unionized (specifically the Associated Press, which has the credit for the photo above), would have noted that unions at least occasionally and likely far more than occasionally require that members present a photo ID to be able to cast their ballots. Nope. How typically irresponsible.

"A blinding glimpse of the obvious."
Irony, indeed.

or any video of this in ads in the coming elections. Along with a blurb from Obama or Holder saying that having to furnish ID to vote "suppresses" voting.
Point this out to a liberal,

Point this out to a liberal, and they'll probably say it's okay for them to do it because they're acting in the interests of "the little guy", but if conservatives do it it's just another example of rich greedy white guys trying to steal the vote.
Any Republican/Conservative

Any Republican/Conservative going on a lame stream media show who is attacked by the libturds about voter ID should pull out a copy of this picture and shove it in their faces.
Libturds are such hypocrits,
Wow, Scoob....I love that idea!

It could be like the "pocket copy" of the constitution!!
Perfect

An absolutely perfect case of irony. I'd even venture to bet that the lame stream media is flailing for some sort of excuse for liberal supporting unions demanding voter ID on a union election and liberals demanding that ID not be required for national and state elections.
PR on this immediately

This needs to be a Fox commercial. Something like "Rooting out hypocrisy in politics.". Seriously, everyone needs to see this.

Washington State, with it's paltry representative population of 3.6% African American origin, hardly has to worry about the optics of a message that says. "We don't need none of their kind around here"
So it only makes sense that the NAACP would expose itself as certifiable hypocrites.
Blue NY & CT

I have lived in New York State and Connecticut and have ALWAYS had to show a photo ID when voting, yet I can't recall the last time a Republican candidate for any seat (local, state or federal) has even come close to winning. Apparently the evil, racist GOP plot to "suppress the vote" by requiring proof of identity at the voting booth isn't working too well for them in the blue states. ;-)
Here in Florida...

We listened to the bs from Democrats about roadblocks and people being turned back at polling sites here in Florida in 2000 and none of it was found to be true even after years of civil rights commission hearings etc but what was true was Al Gore and the Democrat Party nullifying the votes of thousands of troops overseas voting by absentee ballots. Now that is hypocrisy but we just expect it from Democrats anymore don't we?

Doug Ross' piece, linked by Tom, is a must-read!
The most lawless attorney general in American history -- and I'm including the pathetic John Mitchell in the mix -- is visiting Austin, Texas tomorrow.
And guess what? He will be lobbying for vote fraud, supporting a United Nations resolution that is designed to erode the integrity of the ballot box and, ultimately, destroy the United States Constitution.
He has Holder rightly pegged, both above and in calling him a "national disgrace."
