AP Touts President Obama's Openness to Compromise, Ignores Campaign Obama's Contradiction and New Tattletale Site

By Tom Blumer | September 14, 2011 | 20:26

Darlene Superville's Associated Press report earlier this evening on President Obama's visit to North Carolina ("Obama touts jobs bill benefits for small business") had an interesting final paragraph.

Concerning Obama's openness to compromise on his "jobs plan" (otherwise known as "spend now, pay for with taxes later"), she wrote: "President Obama has made clear he'd sign a portion of the legislation if that's all Congress could agree on, although he's said he would continue to fight to pass the whole thing."

Someone forgot to tell that to David Axelrod this morning, as Meghashyam Mali at the Hill reported (video is at link):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Axelrod: 'We're not in a negotiation' on Obama $447B jobs package

Obama's top political adviser David Axelrod said Tuesday that the administration was unwilling to break up the president’s $447 billion jobs plan if Republicans were only receptive to passing certain elements.

"We're not in a negotiation to break up the package. It's not an à la carte menu. It's a strategy to get this country moving,” Axelrod said Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"The president has a package; the package works together. We need to do many things to get this economy moving," Axelrod said.

Oh wait, I get it.

Superville was reporting on President Obama, not Campaign Obama.

President Obama is open to compromise, while Campaign Obama, represented by campaign bigwig Axelrod, isn't.

So Superville can totally ignore what Axelrod said because she was only covering President Obama. Campaign Obama is a totally different and separate thing.

She (and the rest of AP, as shown in the following searches, all not in quotes, at the wire service's main site which failed to find anything relevant: here on "attackwatch.com"; here on "Attack Watch"; here on "Obama campaign"; and here on "Obama for America") can also totally ignore the odious Attackwatch.com site, where Obama supporters are supposed to go to inform on their fellow citizens who are supposedly twisting the facts and lying about Obama's record.

Rush's thoughts today on attackwatch.com were succinctly sarcastic:

Now you've got the regime announcing yesterday this thing called Attack Watch. Obama has now...? The regime has a website? This is straight out of the... I saw a funny tweet. Some babe calls herself Virginia Gal has a tweet on this new Attack Watch website, the White House, "Are we gonna be able to read this in the original German?" ...

...Now, this Attack Watch thing (sigh), they're very proud of this. They're very excited. They've got this new tattletale site. And imagine, if it only had gone online sooner, then Obama would have won back Weiner's seat! Yeah. Nobody was available to stop all the false attacks on the regime, like the "lies" about 9.1% unemployment, Depression era unemployment for blacks and young people, Obama's tax increases during a recession. All those lies that we've been telling! His attempt to lessen the charitable donations deduction.

The lies about Fast and Furious, the attempt to undermine the Second Amendment in this country, the lies about Solyndra, the record levels of poverty and food stamp distribution, the home mortgage crisis. All those lies that have been told about Obama, if only Attack Watch had been up, all of those lies could have been stopped.

At some point, someone ought to break it to Darlene Superville and the AP that Campaign Obama and President Obama are really the same person -- and that if they contradict each other, or if either one engages in authoritarian behavior, it's news.

Who is surprised?

Submitted by Marcus Porcius on Wed, 09/14/2011 - 8:42pm.

This is the same administration that said Republicans can sit at the back of the bus and told Republicans at their first meeting with Obama basically to shut up and go along because "I won."

Now after a month of "Republicans won't compromise" regarding the debt ceiling fight, here comes the Anti-President telling them again to just shut up and go along.

And of course it won't be Obama's fault for not compromising, it will be Republicans "holding the jobs bill hostage."

Same sh*t, different day.

The Wehrmacht Oath of Loyalty to Adolf Hitler

Submitted by MidAmerica on Wed, 09/14/2011 - 10:08pm.

Yeah when I heard that I went ".....huh?.... What!?"

I don't think it was a mere casual statement by obama. The results of obama's policies cannot be defended so now he is trying to make this a personal loyalty issue. It's the old cult of personality propaganda all despots use to diffuse the discontent of their citizeny from their misery. obama is asking citizens "Don't think about your life. Think about mine".

The Nazis fought for Hitler not Germany. When Hitler gained power he had each man in the military swear a personal oath of loyalty to him not Germany.

I love it when they reference each other! It's a YATRS. (Yet another trollish reference site). Media Matters, Think Progress, Ministry of Truth... oh wait, my mistake on that last one! They all have too much name recognition. But oh how this last one backfired. So over the top...

The problem with all of these is that the usual doof that uses these things assumes that they are getting the entire story. I particularly like the one about regulations.

I just read the three links

Submitted by Beukeboom on Thu, 09/15/2011 - 9:49am.

I just read the three links you provided re "attackwatch" and it is simply propaganda. For example, in their defense of Obama regime's lie about job creations they state that "three private assessments" show massive job creations and/or jobs saved under the Obama administation yet no details are given on how these assessments were done nor what criteria they looked at. Furthermore, there is no objective method available to determine "jobs saved" and none of the "assessments" given breaks down jobs created and jobs saved but keeps it all bundled together. Also, there is no breakdown whatsoever of the types of jobs allegedly created (long term vs. short term and temporary jobs). Thus it really cannot be relied upon since the "jobs saved" is nothing more that a guesstimate.

Idiocy

Submitted by GerryC on Wed, 09/14/2011 - 11:13pm.

At the same time the OhBummer! Administration calls for "Bi-partisanship", "Centrist Debate", "Less divisiveness", and "Compromise" they come out telling us that they will not "negotiate" on anything they propose. When did Americans agree that spending trillions of dollars more than we have is "OK"? There is not a sane nation or people on this earth that talks about trillions, except Democrats in the USA. Every American owes $450,000 each when you add in unfunded obligations. How many Americans have that just sitting around to spend?

This sums up this regime, and the liberal agenda. When they had complete control of everything for 2 years, they still blamed it on Republicans for blocking, while excluding the GOP from any debate or decision. They treated the GOP as the party of "No", yet the GOP had control of nothing. I am so excited on the recent win in # 9 in New York!!!! God Bless the people that can actually "see" the damage done by these buffoons. Gerry

P.S. I took this off my signature, but felt it is worth saying again what my dad told me once: "Son, there are two ways to live life. You can wake up every morning and thank the Lord for everything he gave you and the opportunity at life, or you can be a Democrat and wake up hating the Lord for what he did not give you"

Self-denouncing

Submitted by Unsane on Thu, 09/15/2011 - 7:06am.

Referencing that vile dictatorship of the Nazis is fun, but for me, this tattle-tale site is MUCH better suited for Commie references. Please remember that in Communist regimes it was acceptable - and demanded - for diehard Communists to not only denounce each other, but to denounce themselves for not believeing in the cause (or the leader) quite enough.

Hence, I think that every single Rightist should hit that website and self-denounce for not loving His Majesty The Shahinshah nearly enough as we should. After all, we ALL need to love Him more deeply, more intensely, and more passionately than we would consider loving our spouses, our families - even God.

. . to Kenya where he campaigned for he dear friend (fellow tribesman) Raila Odinga, presidential candidate and leader of the "Orange Democratic Movement," (gee - I wonder if that's where Obama got the idea - LOL).

Following the election loss, Odinga's followers, more than a wee bit upset of his disputed election loss, began a mini genocide against the forces of the victor, Kibaki. Included in the violence perpetrated by Obama's side were the usual hacking to death by machete, mob beatings, and the occasional locking all the local women and children up in the church, barricading the doors and burning them all to death (wonder if he'd passed along a copy of Mel Gibson's "The Patriot?")

Two memories haunt me from those days of old; 1.) I don't recall then candidate and Senator Obama calling out for calm, and 2.) I don't recall that our national MSM had any interest in either asking him about what he was doing there and the horror that was taking place, or, in broadly simply reporting the news of the events. There were some straight news accounts of the events - but I doubt very much Obama's name was mentioned.

Where was Obama?" Where was his heart? Where was his concern?
