Maxine Waters: 'The Tea Party Can Go Straight to Hell'

By Tom Blumer | August 21, 2011 | 23:46

A  A
Tom Blumer's picture

Well, the extent to which this one gets nationally noticed should be interesting.

Yesterday, at a high school gym in Inglewwood, California,  at what was billed as a "Kitchen Table Summit," as seen in a video currently showing at both MRC-TV and Breitbart, Congresswoman Maxine Waters said, "As far as I'm concerned, the Tea Party can go straight to hell." The crowd, reportedly "more than 2,000 people," cheered her statement.

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

We're already through one overnight news cycle at the Associated Press, and I found nothing relating to this outburst at its home page in a search on the congresswoman's name. The one item listed is a day older, and even that one is sanitized. Referring to Waters's appearance at a Congressional Black Caucus summit in Detroit last week, the AP's Ken Thomas, with assistance from AP Deputy Polling Director Jennifer Agiesta, only reported that Waters told those in attendance that, "Our people are hurting. The unemployment level is unconscionable." Many of those who follow New Media know the real news was Waters virtually begging her audience, and by inference African-Americans in general, to "unleash us" (the Caucus) to complain about President Obama's failure to address the economic needs of the black community. (Don't worry, Maxine, he's an equal opportunity ignorer).

A Google News search on ["Maxine Waters" "go straight to hell"] (typed exactly as incidated between brackets) covering the past two days returned all of five items at the following mostly nonestablishment locations: Huffington Post, Daily Caller, ABC7 in Los Angeles, Contra Costa Times, and an LA Times blog. That's far from impressive.

As to the media getting cold feet and avoiding the H-word, spare me the sudden prudery. Google News Archive searches on [Republicans "go straight to hell"] and [Democrats "go straight to hell"] returned 104 and 68 results, respectively.

If this one doesn't get wide establishment press coverage, it will be because they will have seen the perceived negative risk of average people finding out the left's true mindset as just too high.

My, my. Sure seems like a lot of anger and desperation out there amongst the party that was supposed to 'rule' for the next 40 years. Somebody's losing the fight and the scratching, clawing, and wailing has begun. They better hope the race-war they're working on doesn't backfire on 'em, that and executive orders are about all they got left.

Submitted by killa37 on Mon, 08/22/2011 - 12:28am.

Well, this racist moron is known a lot more for her idiotic statements than her intelligence..........and she just got through saying that she's upset that Boy Blunder wasn't going to the 'black' areas in his BLACK BUS tour, and that he isn't doing enough to help create 'black' jobs.............but, as a politician, she can't really 'go after him', because the 'black' voters still love Obama, and she wouldn't want to upset them!!!

And seriously, do you think that ANY TEA party type is going to regard anything that this battleaxe has to say, as nothing more than a noisy, smelly fart??? In fact - I'm feeling even MORE proud of my stance, now that Maxine 'Muddy' Waters has told me to 'go to hell'!!!

Actually, I love Muddy Waters...........so, to the late great McKinley Morganfield, I'm SORRY that I used your name in vain!!!

It's true that to be insulted

Submitted by ant on Mon, 08/22/2011 - 4:27pm.

It's true that to be insulted by a scoundrel is, indeed, a compliment. I was tempted to use the 'Muddy Waters' too, but also thought it would be an insult to him. And Howlin' Wolf is way off-limits, along with his guitarist, Hubert Sumlin.

Hubert Sumlin...........who played some off-brand FRENCH weird-looking guitar, with super high action that was always out of tune??? The guy whose guitar licks sound like some kind of blues cartoon character??? Yes.........THAT is the Hubert Sumlin that we're talking about!!! I LOVE Hubert Sumlin!!! He fit in with da Wolf perfectly!!!

Well, Sumlin wasn't out of tune - his guitar was. I remember reading something Eric Clapton said -when they were recording with Wof way back when........he said he couldn't even PLAY Sumlins guitar..........but Sumlin sure could!!!!

I'm at a loss as to her logic and claim of tuff boldness not in fighting for jobs, but against a group (Tea Party) who have nothing to do with the loss of jobs,
what she seems to be doing is using the tea party to hide behind due her weakness and ineffectiveness.

She is saying she is unable to really put a jobs plan into action, but she can direct hate and frustration towards a sector of the population she is threatened by, so brave, so full of courage, so innovative.
Those cheering with no comprehension as to the illogic of her statement should see the job market picking up real soon now Waters stood tuff against the Tea party.

Our nation

Submitted by milootoole on Mon, 08/22/2011 - 1:20am.

It is darned near impossible in our country to point out certain issues without instantly being labeled a "racist", "bigot", or "xenophobe", (the last, a word that the great unwashed never -heard until Obama ran for office.

First, I ask you to look at the crowd in the video.. Mostly white?? Yeah, right?? Put your glasses on ans take another look. Now here's where the racist scream will be the loudest-- what are the odds that the majority of these folks are in the 47% that does not pay tax in America???

Dr Walter Williams believe that Obama will win another term because that 47% will be entirely behind him while many of the 53% who pay taxes are not unified and unanimous in their conservative choice. Well, there are so many GOPers who are liberals in GOP clothing, I can understand why and Independent may have doubts. In this election, for the first time, I ma convinced a third party candidate will take vote from the GOP only.

I will bet there are people who do not like obama or agree with his program but will vote for him because the "other guys" are going to "destroy" Social Security, Medicare and welfare. If you do not believe that many, many Americans are buying that BS then I have a bridge in NYC to sell to you.

Drill, deport, deflate (government), discard (income tax), derail (government hiring).

Drilling will create hundreds of thousands of jobs. Stop lending the money to Brazil where we are rather disliked , except for our dollars. Reduce tax collections by the $2B for Brazil and get it back in a new national sales tax which employed Americans will generate through productivity and purchasing power..

It is no more our job to fix the need of all the poorer countries of the world than it is our responsibility to interfere in internal affairs of other countries.

A balanced plan by government would result in a balance of trade not one where we have such an enormous trade deficit. The right taxation would result in American companies investing more here in America instead of overseas. After all if we want to see real "free trade" we cannot punish American companies for doing business in America. If the people who make these decisions are trying to improve the world, let them take the white collar and go forth, not by giving America's wealth away.

Milo, the odds you're asking about,

As simply as I can decipher, Maxine's life can be summed up thusly:

  • Judge me as a person of good character because of the color of my skin.

She says she intends to help me get to hell?   I never threatened to murder her.  Why is she trying to incite my murder?

Her life has been spent begging from those she hates.  Is there a more graphic depiction of "Pitiful"?

Maxine, you're just one of many, preaching your gospel of black inferiority.  You've made a handy living of it.
