Got this e-mail earlier this afternoon, which pretty much says it all about ABC's news priorities:

The links in the e-mail are after the jump.
Stossel's original tease ("Canadian Health Care: The End of Innovation?") is here.
Stossel's too kind (in my opinion) reax to the pull is here.
Not much to elaborate on, except to say that if the free market for broadcast time were really in effect at ABC, I'd be hearing a lot of people saying, "Gee, there hasn't been enough coverage of Michael Jackson. I want more."
I haven't heard any of that. Has anyone else?

June 30, 2009 - 16:50 ET by RightOfMostIt was just one week ago that ABC teased us with this line...
"What's more important than having good health care when you need it? Nothing!!"
...to implore us to watch the June 24 Obama infomercial.
One week later, it appears that an already-dead person must be more important. What kind of good health care did Jacko get?

Taking bets
June 30, 2009 - 17:02 ET by Kat Outta the BagShall we take bets on when or even whether ABC will reschedule Stossel's report for airing?
Kat,
June 30, 2009 - 17:10 ET by UpNorthmy money, what little I have left, is on no re-schedule for this. Combined with Stuart Smalley, er Al Franken being declared the winner in Minnesota, the dems now have 60 votes in the Senate. We'll have Obamacare, DADT, repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act and more and higher taxes. And they can't be stopped!!
I e-mailed the local ABC affiliate over the Obamacare special, got no response at all. So, they've chosen to go with the 0 and ignore the local population who, leaving out the illegals and lazy who want it, are opposed to Canadian style healthcare.

Tom, what are you talking about? There never was a special that was going to air by John Stossel, and who is this Lyndsi person? We show no record of any Lyndsi person who exists in Oceania. Also, we show no record of any special by John Stossel that was going to air on ABC. Winston Smith who is a clerk in the records department can confirm all of this information.

June 30, 2009 - 20:33 ET by GregEWhen we criticize politicians, often we'll hear people say "Well, they're going nuts up there but there is nothing we can do about it."
Are we witnessing, in all of the Obama/Congressional madness, that statement being true? And even more importantly, are we witnessing a federal government that has begun to also believe that very thing that many Americans often say? Has government gotten to a point where many of them literally believe that there is nothing the dumb American can or will do about them? And if they are correct......
Pondering......

July 1, 2009 - 04:30 ET by MeowMeowWe are going to dumb ourselves down and stick our heads in the sand, focusing only on celebrity who-screwed-who gossip, and meanwhile, these cads in congress are passing things right under our noses and the vast majority (the same majority who elected The Messiah) are too stupid to even know it.
I can't (and can) believe America has gotten this stupid, lazy and complacent.

Michael in Obamacare Land....????
July 1, 2009 - 13:21 ET by Pilgrim1949Food for thought....
If Michael had lived under our Deer-in-the-headlights Leader's proposed health care system I wonder how many of Mikey's seemingly endless (and increasingly bizarre) medical procedures would have been approved and, hence, graciously paid for by our benevolent bureacracy (and your and my tax dollars)?
Would any potential limitations thereof have increased the likelihood that he might still be alive today?
Hmmm???? Oh, I see that gloved hand.....
Sorry, but irrelevant
July 1, 2009 - 15:18 ET by needleMikey, and people like him including well connected politicians, will always get their medical attention outside of any system established for the proletariat.

I once heard of a poor man’s version of chicken soup. It consisted of a cook dipping momentarily a piece of chicken in a pot of boiling water. ABC has come up with an “agin’ it” side of the ObamaCare issue that is commensurate with poorman’s chicken soup.
Enjoy.

July 1, 2009 - 17:58 ET by needleI am studiously trying to be ignorant of the entire Michael Jackson shtick; but it sure sounds as if he is in direct competition with Elvis Presley. I wonder if there are going to be “reported sightings” of Michael Jackson as time rolls on. And twenty years from now who will be The real [posthumous] King?
Yawn. Believe me; I truly could not care less.
